Today we are unboxing another WISE, that if you follow my channel KNOW is one of my favorite microbrands!! Hand assembled in Thailand, each and every one was incredibly well made with almost no foreign materials found even under macro and with impecable finish. Their quality is so high and so consistent for the price, I started reffering to them as Grand Seiko of Microbrands!
The Flyboy is a pilot's watch that evokes a look of a chronograph but actually comes with a mechanical calendar. The movement used is a premium line of Miyota 9 series in this instance Miyota 9122, that comes with hours, minutes, seconds, date, day of the week and even month complication.
It beats away at 28.800 bph giving a smooth seconds hand, and is sized just right at 41mm.
It is also another model of theirs done in 904L steel, the same one used by Rolex, instead of the more common 316L.
As usual, stay tuned for the full review

no where near a "Grand Seiko" of micro brand.
It's a click bait.
@@rayng4336 yup, just a cheap trick. i didn't even finished the video. lol
There are no micro-brands that have anything like Grand Seiko quality, please stop giving watchh buyers bad informarion..
Looks like an IWC had a child with the alpinist
I still can’t believe how a micro brand like WISE can produce such a product from the watch itself to the packaging, amazing. Seiko should be ashamed.
Seiko should be ashamed of MOST micro brands!
They don’t product anything.
The band, the case, the hands, the meca and the dials can be purchased with manufacturers.
The same for boxes.
They just put all the parts together.
@@D3ZG1978Seiko, probably the most innovative and influential watch maker of the 20th century,I don't think they have anything to be ashamed of.
@@bibby65 they should be ashamed of their prices
@@D3ZG1978Seiko sold the movements and other parts to micros and micros modified and finished them, sometimes through their own employees or to cheaper labor like China, VN…
Seiko sold watches to ADs at whole sale prices. ADs will list them at RRP, like almost all businesses but had the options to give discounts. The final prices depended on the overhead (marketing, employee wages/benefits…, other hard costs…).
Most micros have very small number of full time employees, many less than 10 and minimal HR costs, especially overseas.
The same item would cost 2-3x more if sold by retailers (shipping, rents/mortgages, employees/benefits, interest, ….a lot of other capital investments). All that vs direct from overseas factories to your doorstep.
Compare apples to apples!
Cool watch, good review. I find your comment regarding mechanical chronographs a bit odd - I use many of mine daily (when I'm wearing a chrono) to time things, often precisely, without difficulty. I agree a G-SHOCK is easier to read extremely quickly, but it takes no more than an extra second or two to read the mechanical chrono. Just my two cents, good review!
I have a couple quartz analog chronographs. I find them hard to read for times over 1 minute. For example was that 7:43 or 8:43?
Agreed. Just take a little getting used to, then they become second nature to read quickly.
Ready for the Wise GMT, on presale now.
Nice watch, I love Wise watches.
Very cool watch .
Just got my wise hitman and I'm a fan! Looks like this will be my next! Amazing company!❤
Be careful for time setup of this watch. You could setup the time to safety the Miyota 9122 movement / by setting all of function => when the position of the short-hand (hours) must on between 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. only!.
Can you explain why? I am new to automatics.
I would not part with US$710 for this watch.
man I was really hoping the month subdial was a second 12hr time zone
They have buy 2 save 20% on and I'm really trying to talk myself out of 2 bronzes lol.
really nice piece , tempted on this one
this watch is ugly and boring and pricey
I would like the brand more if they didn't over promise on delivery dates. But, instead, they were over 3 months behind delivery (promised Dec 23, delivered Mar 24) on my last watch and on the current one I'm waiting on.
why do you need so many Wise watches? I’m just courious 😊
It's the way they do things, they assemble them as you order the watch
@@gordanbabic8028 I didn't think two would be considered "so many"? I wanted the AD8 with a SS bracelet, and the ADX GMT.
@@WatchGeek I placed the order for my AD8 in Oct 23 with a scheduled delivery of Dec 23, it arrived end of March 24. I purchased the ADX at the same time, with a delivery of Feb 24, we're heading into May. I understand pre ordering, but, please error on the side of later than sooner for delivery. Like Erebus watches did. They estimated delivery in March and delivered in Feb.
Update, my ADX was delivered today. Promised in Feb, arrived end of Apr. At least it was quicker than my AD8 SS bracelet
Nice watch, its great to see all this micro brands making design more original than exclusive brands, and with decent price, great for normal customer, because all the luxury or more famous brands are more and more expensive giving less quality for more expenssive price..
I think the month sub would have been better with month letter markers (J F M etc) rather than numbers because after about April nobody knows what number month it is!
The watch looks huge in your wrist.
How. Much and available
I worked on a friends Tag Kirium “homage” that had these same complications except the date was in a mini secondary dial, like you would find in a standard chrono for the running seconds. Very cool movement, and this is a beautiful watch
Handsome watch, nice details ❤
Beautiful watch... ❤
Great video
That is really nice
Lovely watch, what a beautiful colour dial, I really like that the sub dials are calendar instead of chrono, the detail and quality of this watch is amazing, I’m gonna look into this brand right now 👍🏻
At least state the model no somewhere! is it the FL04?
Sorry about that, it's FL-03
Cool watch and I like box
I like box as well, but I think we’re talking about different types of boxes.
I love the look, but really don’t like calendar subdials. I would have to pretend it’s a chrono!
Beautiful watch, but slightly too large for my wrist. It even looked a bit large on your wrist.
I am relatively new to the hobby and had not known of this company. Reviewing their web site colors me impressed. Thank you for bringing them to my attention.
$710 for a watch with a movement that you can get in an Invicta for $80 lol. No thanks….
Invicta uses 9000 series myota's?
$710? 🤔
I have an excellent and unique (!) diver with this movement - Straton Tourer Triple Calendar. Four years ago it cost me under $500. And I thought that was expensive!!!
I can hear "the inflation" argument, but this is manufactured in Asia... and somehow San Martin makes high quality watches in the $200-300 range, and IXDAO is downright spectacular at $300-400, they can even do it with Sellita and ETA.
I just don't see where the money is going in WISE watches... I suspect their pure profit is 50% or more 😕
Date window should been Circular there is not a lot of synergy in Font size and type
