Ima c-5,5 &6 quad & I used to wear corsets for the look when I'd go to concerts but realized that it helped with trunk control so wear them
    Quite often now.

Nice. Will help with my FES assisted workouts. The bands they sell with some FES aren't big enough. My arms can only do one sided movements heavy unless I supplement with FES and even that's sketchy. Will Give this a shot with caution. 🧐😉🤔

Didn't realise they were used with FES. Hope it goes well when you try it out!

Hey everyone, we've made it to the final of a competition to win a suitcase that Craig would independently be able to use by himself. If you have a facebook and/or instagram profile and could spare a minute to vote for Craig to win we would really appreciate it! All you have to do is comment "Craig" on either/both of these posts: 👇

I just learned of the trabasac...which I so want. It's kind of a beanbag lap tray, and brief case combined in one. It also holds your lap top.

I am a C4 incomplete with problems with C5 and C6 and L4 and L5 injuries. I have a Jay 3 back which allows for lateral supports, which I am getting. I noticed when I got the rigid back, it strangely enough wasn't as much as a curve for me (because the sling back was more curved and not straight) and I wasn't able to sit up as straight; it was quite difficult, in fact. There is also a more contoured Jay 3 back if you desire a smoother look to your chair.
I originally got the idea of an abdominal binder from Brian on Paralyzed Living. I have been wearing a corset ever since.
Craig, did your scoliosis begin BEFORE your accident, or after?

I've tried a Jay 3 backrest with lateral supports but it was too restrictive for me. I've been using a slacked tension adjustable backrest since which is a bit better but I lean on the back posts due to my scoliosis which is very uncomfortable.
I wasn't aware of it at the time but I did have some scoliosis before my accident which was picked up on my early xrays. It has got worse though since my accident, as I can't compensate for it with my core.

@@PARALIFE I realize I said it looks comfy, but I wasn't thinking about your crooked spine either. With that in mind, I seriously wouldn't suggest the back rest you currently have. It will allow you to lean even though you wear a corset...although once I have been wearing mine, I sit so much straighter and it's not such a huge effort. But please realize a crooked spine can affect the amount of work your lungs can do. I think a restrictive back rest is way less annoying than struggling to breath. I think a good alternative would actually be a contoured back rest. It will seem a little more comfortable, less restrictive and will probably maintain your breathing.

I don’t wear mine nearly enough. I’m a T7 Incomplete Paraplegic (from a birth defect) so I have a tiny bit of core function; but not enough to get the Phlegm out that is caused by my FND.

I knew the corset helped my cough but never realised how much until we filmed this video! They can be quite uncomfortable, but it's worth it for me. That's a good thing about being T4, I can't feel it that much!

PARALIFE I was watching all those videos of people with paralysis and after finally understanding it better, I thought to myself: at least they feel no pain in the ass seating all day. After your own, I thought you might appreciate the joke. Great and brave content. Those videos might really encourage more research on paralysis. Until a cure comes, though, it is wonderful to know that life can go on even through it. Cheers!
