      Definitely more comfortable to sit in than the last chair, hopefully it'll help the posture in the long term. Gotta give the credit to Claire for thinking of the aisle wheels, we'd be trying to workout ways to be able to get around a campervan for months

    Love getting to see the customizations you've made and I can't wait to hear how they're all working for you. The freewheel attachment point on the back is utterly brilliant as that's m a thing I've worried about if I ever manage to get a freewheel myself. I'll definitely keep in mind that concept

    • @PARALIFE
      @PARALIFE  3 роки тому

      The freewheel is great but the attachment that comes with it really is it's downfall. We had just tied a string around it and attached a caribener clip to the bag of the wheelchair and had carried it like that up until now. So far this new attachment seems to work great but we haven't had it on there yet for particularly long or anything so we still need to give it a good test to properly see how it holds up

      It depends how it's positioned, you can adjust the angle so if you push it in so it's under the wheelchair it's fine but if not yeah it can touch the floor during a wheelie

    Cool chair! You never said how much it cost?
    Also, what a great idea with the aisle chair adjustments, do you think you could use that to access planes?

    • @PARALIFE
      @PARALIFE  3 роки тому +1

      We were going to mention it but then decided not to since the price of HOCs chairs varies so much depending on customisations. Unlike most companies, they are also very transparent about prices on their website. I guess it could've been good to mention the base price though to give people an idea - unfortunately only just thought of it now.
      Yeah they should work on planes providing the rest of the chair is narrow enough. Wouldn't get them just for that but will try it out next time since we have the option

      @FreddotheWheelchairGuy 3 роки тому +2

      @@PARALIFE thanks for the reply, yeah I know their base prices, but it would have been cool to know how much the chair was with the added bits and bobs, and the postage. I've been thinking about gettting one and that info would have been helpful. Can't wait for part 2 !

    • @PARALIFE
      @PARALIFE  3 роки тому +1

      Most peoples who've asked us about the chair haven't even heard of HOC so we just don't want to put people off HOC because of customisations 90% won't even have. But if you want the details feel free to message us on IG, Facebook or email. Shipping and importing a wheelchair we're thinking of doing a dedicated video on, it's a bit of a ballache and we still haven't finished with customs even though it arrived a couple of weeks ago!

    How much does it weigh ? The RGK sub 4 range actually weighs less than 4kg which is a fantastic improvement for active wheelchair users

    • @PARALIFE
      @PARALIFE  3 роки тому

      We haven't weighed it yet and there's no standard weight of these chairs since the customisations will effect it so not 100% sure. The titanium frame is very lightweight and comparable to the rgk octane but the shock adds extra weight, for our lifestyle it was worth it but wouldn't recommend the shock to all wheelchair users. It's slightly lighter than my argon 2 even with the shock. One of the other chairs that hands on concepts make - the rigid lite - is supposed to weigh between 4 and 5kg depending on size and options.
      I did actually look into getting an RGK octane sub 4 originally but after some research I found out 3 things; 1 - lots of other companies also make equally as lightweight chairs, 2 - it won't always be less than 4kg if you're a bigger person and need a bigger frame so probably would've been over 4kg for me and 3 - the footplate is made of such thin metal that it is liable to break with the freewheel which is a deal breaker for me (fine with the frontwheel but since I already have the freewheel I don't want another) so it wasn't for me but I do know loads of wheelchair users who have and love their sub 4s.

    Have you guys done a review/comparison between the 2 chairs yet? I thought you said you had in one video...but then never saw a link and it has only been a month. By the way the isle wheels seem amazing...but how does he move around?

    • @PARALIFE
      @PARALIFE  3 роки тому

      This is the video we were referring to (not a like for like comparison between the 2 but we mention the things we have changed). We were planning on doing a review video for the new wheelchair once we've had time to test it out properly.
      With the aisle wheels, I would just have to pull myself around off the furniture. It's a bit more annoying but it's such a small space anyway that it won't make much difference.

    I¬i, thanks for the vid! I got a sunriseMedical EasyLife SA cause I need it foltable and I need my footrests to put in up to 90 °, my legs swell and hurt too much to have thm down longer than 1,5 hrs. I needed 3 times more than each 2 hrs to make it fit specially for me, there has been changed a lot from normal to custom, to ME. My specialist thought noone could need what i need but after knowing me a bit he came to understand that it was clearly right as I said. Only 2 times he had an idea that was a bit better! So now my chair is way much more maneuverable, it doen't ssssssrrrrr all the time I drive over rough streets or asphalt or sand or…doesn't matter. I took 5' casters cause I don't wanna feel them to be right or left kind of „dizzy“ inside of the forks. You know what I mean? I'm no native speaker, so , please, I do my very best!

    If you have a foldable wheelchair with aisle wheels do you think it would be usable on an airplane? So that the person can hop on to their chair to be wheeled to the bathroom. Anyone has experience flying with it?
    I don't know how, though I am wondering if the aisle chair could be added with a way for the users to wheel themselves without making it bulky.

    • @PARALIFE
      @PARALIFE  3 роки тому +1

      Afraid we're not sure what it would be like on a plane and not sure about if anyone else has used one. Don't see why this one couldn't be used to board a plane provided it's narrow enough to get down the aisle but it would likely not be small enough when folded down to fit in the overhead lockers so probably would still have to be stored in the hold. If the front frame could also fold as well as the back then it probably would fit

      @@PARALIFE Touché. I didn’t dislike my freewheel use, but I def didn’t love it either. I wish it had a more solid mounting system, but other than that it was top notch. My one experience with it ended in a bent freewheel, likely from not adjusting it to fit as tightly as possible in the first place. Regardless, I wish it was a bit more solid.
