Midge (real name James) Ure is responsible for a whole lot more than many people tend to think when it comes to his overall involvement in the British and worldwide music industry. A very powerful and influential figure in the industry as well as being a thoroughly decent bloke and a huge fan of Glasgow Rangers. His most well known song was probably Vienna by Ultravox. But his involvement with Band Aid and Live Aid is something that should never go unrecognised. Still don't know why he's never received a knighthood from HRH the Queen but hopefully that may day will still be to come.
Not necessarily, but I think it's more to just highlight the vast number of people that he's tried to reach out to and help. Whether or not his efforts actually proved to be as successful as he or we all hoped is another thing, but it's the fact that he's tried to make a difference and has clearly been involved in some really worthwhile projects. It's not really intended as a reflection on anyone else.
