They had great writers :) One of my favorites was when Norm came into Cheers and said "It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and I'm wearing Milk-Bone underwear" :)
I remember watching this originally air and I laughed my ass off. It just happened again about 30 yrs later. So funny! Cheers was legendary. One watching this might have thought is was just contrived Sitcomery (My word). But no, it was actually set up beautifully.
It was truly, one of the best sitcoms ever! No comparison with “Friends” or “Mash”. I have such great memories of tuning in every Thursday night to watch it with my lady, and we howled, chuckled and giggled for the entire episodes. Recently, I had to go out & buy the complete set from Amazon, to relive those best memories. I received the DVD package almost a year ago, but I haven’t opened it yet. RIP Susanna! Your sense of humour is unmatched.
One of the best Cheers episodes ever! I laughed so hard I snorted when Norm first got up and squeaked around (the snorting only happens occasionally..)
My brother and I were teenagers when this first aired and I had been trying so hard to get him to watch Cheers with me. I was just like, "Just give it a chance!" Well, I finally got him to sit down and watch it and this was the episode that wound up being the first episode of Cheers he ever saw. He was hooked and is a big fan of Cheers to this day. 😃
Sometimes you wanna go Where everybody has squeeky shoes! And they wont be glad they do! You want to be where you can see, Our shoes give us the blues; You want to be where everybody has squeeky shoes.
Guys this is the best comedy show bar none. Better than Seinfeld. Great writing and great acting. I miss all these guys. The best thing to ever come out of Boston.
this happened to me on a job interview, I just bought a new pair of shoes and went to a Ford Dealers to get a job as a car salesman and the manager was on the other side of the showroom floor and I had to walk over to him and my shoes squeaked real loud just like this all the way walking over to him on the waxed showroom floor, he gave me a minute of his time then said 'kid i don't think it will work out' and on my way out the door, I laughed and still do because of the squeaky shoes, honest!
The BEST show ever. The tv producer, David Angell, from Cheers (along w/his wife) was on one of the planes that flew into the World Trade Ctr on 9/12. So very, VERY sad!! David Angell - Wikipedia en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Angell
@@robcarr23 Did you know that David Angell, tv producer & screen writer from Cheers was on one of the planes that flew into the World Trade Center on 9/11. So very, VERY sad!
I was just watching the season 1 finale of Frasier the other day - Frasier and Niles both say they're not fond of tassles - see 1:50 Frasier says he loves them
There are several anomalies between Cheers and Frasier. For example, Frasier liked hanging out with the guys but in Frasier he wouldn't walk across the street to piss on them if they were on fire. He drank beer almost exclusively at Cheers(except with Lilith when he would drink wine or martinis). On Frasier he only drank beer on occasion. Also, his father was a dead research scientist who he had a good relationship with and not an alive cop who his relationship was estranged(I know this was somewhat hashed out when Sam came to visit).
My question is were the squeaking sounds happening live on set or were they added in post? Also, Fun Fact: John Ratzenberger himself directed this episode. His first of four throughout the show.

"Mine are squeaking, too. In E minor."
The unsung heroes of this show were the writers. Absolutely hilarious!

I still watch Cheers on Hulu
I can only imagine the writers were crying and snorting with laughter as they pieced this storyline together! 😂
You couldn't make me watch Survivor, Big Brother, Jersey Shore, or any "reality TV" garbage, but I can enjoy a gem of a series like Cheers anytime.
One of the best sitcoms of all time.
THE Best ever
This episode and the beard growing episode are all time classics
Back then I rated Cheers a 9.5. After watching all these clips I have designated it an 11.

Awesome word, "Sitcomery." But wouldn't "Sitcomedy" fit more because it's a form of comedy?

O Loo.L..
Cliff and Norm were both great characters.
@@julianlewis1792 To me, Cliff and Norm were the main characters!!
The writers of Cheers came up with something original here lol
Haha, one of the BEST episodes of CHEERS!
It takes a lot to get me to laugh and this episode had me in stitches.
The writers were fantastic!
one of the only sitcoms that gave me tons of actual LOL moments
Makes me think of the "Seinfeld" episode with George and his whooshing pants.
It's the squeaky shoe club. LOL
Some of Ted Dansons best acting was when he didn’t speak but just used body language or fascial expressions he was a master at them!!
Facial
I miss that great show!!! It was one of the best!!!! It should be brought back to tv again somewhere like on NBC or TV LAND.
I loved how depressed the squeaks sounded when Sam told everyone to get back to their barstools. :-D
lmao!
I haven’t even made it to that part yet, but I can hear it in my head. I remember this scene so well
I can still hear my Dad laughing at this episode….more like gasping for breath. I loved his laugh.
Mine too
Great episode.... @#$&in hilarious...
Thank the Lord I grew up in good times. Norm!!!! Good times.
When Pete starts hopping that was the best

Sam's face when everyone gets off their bar stool to check if their shoes are squeaky.
This might have been the best sequence of the show and there were some legendary moments!
This episode really gets my dog excited.... I have to turn the volume down:-)
I had never seen this episode. I am in tears. Lololol
The scene and the changing of the keg are my 2 favorite scenes ever
Such a great show. Funny as hell.
Squeaky Shoes are also how my grandma explained my uncle Albert's farts at Thanksgiving 😄
Thanksgiving farts are the best...especially at the dinner table as long as they are loud and extra stinky

Anyone know what show featured Carla dancing even though she was exhausted? I've only heard that it was sometime before season 5.
Sam saying Sit Down
Could that be Robert Patrick @2:20? The T-1000 from Terminator 2? No mention of Cheers in his IMDb filmography, but could be uncredited?
No, that's definitely not Rob
@mle4uandme You mean the one where Carla and Nick compete in the danceathon?
@JDT104 Nick Calasanto. He also directed an episode of Columbo.
