My question is were the squeaking sounds happening live on set or were they added in post? Also, Fun Fact: John Ratzenberger himself directed this episode. His first of four throughout the show.
My brother and I were teenagers when this first aired and I had been trying so hard to get him to watch Cheers with me. I was just like, "Just give it a chance!" Well, I finally got him to sit down and watch it and this was the episode that wound up being the first episode of Cheers he ever saw. He was hooked and is a big fan of Cheers to this day. 😃
They had great writers :) One of my favorites was when Norm came into Cheers and said "It's a dog-eat-dog world out there, and I'm wearing Milk-Bone underwear" :)
This would have been funnier if the shoe squeaks were the typical barely audible squeaks you got with truly cheap shoes back in the day. The fact that they literally put squeaky-toy squeakers in the shoes pretty much ruined the comedy. for me anywho. I know the production of said squeaky shoes or the electronic manufacturing of said sound there of would have been difficult but it would have been much much finnier.
It was truly, one of the best sitcoms ever! No comparison with “Friends” or “Mash”. I have such great memories of tuning in every Thursday night to watch it with my lady, and we howled, chuckled and giggled for the entire episodes. Recently, I had to go out & buy the complete set from Amazon, to relive those best memories. I received the DVD package almost a year ago, but I haven’t opened it yet. RIP Susanna! Your sense of humour is unmatched.
Knowing how Frasier was on Frasier, he buying $20 mail order shoes is out of character to the point of the absurd considering this is the same guy who would buy a custom hand stitched sport jacket from Italy and scoffs at Spanish leather.
I was just watching the season 1 finale of Frasier the other day - Frasier and Niles both say they're not fond of tassles - see 1:50 Frasier says he loves them
Love this episode 😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
I somehow remembered this from over 30 years ago and sought this scene out specifically and youtube delivered
This might have been the best sequence of the show and there were some legendary moments!
This is hilarious!!!

Sam saying Sit Down
I can still hear my Dad laughing at this episode….more like gasping for breath. I loved his laugh.
Mine too
😂make it stop.
3:14 no Rebecca you won't burn the bar down for another few seasons yet nothing to worry about
I can only imagine the writers were crying and snorting with laughter as they pieced this storyline together! 😂
I watched and loved every episode of Cheers, but this one had me apoplectic.
Such a great show. Funny as hell.

One of my favorite episodes! 👍😎
Still say "Sit Ubu sit, good dog"
I still watch Cheers on Hulu
Squeaky toy club LOL LOL
You couldn't make me watch Survivor, Big Brother, Jersey Shore, or any "reality TV" garbage, but I can enjoy a gem of a series like Cheers anytime.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Why are there ants all over me!!!!!!!!!!
Great episode.... @#$&in hilarious... Thank the Lord I grew up in good times. Norm!!!! Good times.
Sir....you have grit.
Sam's face when everyone gets off their bar stool to check if their shoes are squeaky.
I remember this episode.I nearly pissed my pants laughing
The second-best Nutty Cliff Scheme in the series. (The first was the potato that looked like Nixon).
Squeaky Shoes are also how my grandma explained my uncle Albert's farts at Thanksgiving 😄
Thanksgiving farts are the best...especially at the dinner table as long as they are loud and extra stinky
@@peterradosevich7975 at the dinner table the dog took the blame😄
@@Obiter3 I take full credit for my butt burps😂😂😁
The writers were fantastic!
Love when B side plots leak into the main line.
Ok everyone, we just watched the clip. We know the lines. We know the delivery. That’s why we like the show in general.
Hmm, reminds me of George Costanza's swooshing dress pants. Boy, did Seinfeld and Larry David get rich from ripping others off.
"Mine are squeaking, too. In E minor." The unsung heroes of this show were the writers. Absolutely hilarious!

The writers of Cheers came up with something original here lol
Back then I rated Cheers a 9.5. After watching all these clips I have designated it an 11.
😂😂😂
I wouldn’t mind a pair of squeaky shoes
Legendary scene!
I think this one of the scenes where Ted Danson drew inspiration for playing Becker down the road.
Love Becker. Great show. 👍🏼
Hilarious!

Respect
Mash sucked.
@@HockeyGoon939 The only comment you have made. Your a troll!
@@jonniehickson5599 MASH really sucked.
@@HockeyGoon939 The movie was good
It takes a lot to get me to laugh and this episode had me in stitches.
Could that be Robert Patrick @2:20? The T-1000 from Terminator 2? No mention of Cheers in his IMDb filmography, but could be uncredited?
No, that's definitely not Rob

He wasn't making radio show host money yet. 😆
not very funny even back in the day ,I didn't care for the show , to Predictable. I only liked when Shelley Long was on the show
Oy, again with the squeaky shoes.
I was just watching the season 1 finale of Frasier the other day - Frasier and Niles both say they're not fond of tassles - see 1:50 Frasier says he loves them
It was the squeaky shoes that turned him off of them. Such bad memories...
This episode really gets my dog excited.... I have to turn the volume down:-)
I had never seen this episode. I am in tears. Lololol
Some of Ted Dansons best acting was when he didn’t speak but just used body language or fascial expressions he was a master at them!!
Facial
And with that, I continue watching the Complete Series purchased, in HD, on UA-cam.
