Short cut for new comers . Bhakari flour can be added to boiling water in equal quantity like in ukad we have for modals . Make a dough with spoon as water was boiling. Adjust with extra flour or water as u knead. Roll bhakari with rolling pin.
It's a trial and error method...as you make every day....you learn to perfect it . Even I had lots of difficulty sometimes it breaks and sometimes sticky....gradually I mastered it....taught my immediate relatives...now everyone makes it .
I had severe constipation problem for 15 years, but from last 2 months I am having Bhakari on daily basis and have stopped consuming chapatis which has resulted in Emptying bowels on daily basis which is a Miracle for Me.
This republic Day Millet jhanki was the part of parade. This shows how important it is to introduce millets in our everyday diet. Rujuta is absolutely right.
Thanks for building the bridge between the traditional cultural wisdom and to today's weight-loss focussed industry in a simple but elegant way! You are made to guide and revive the unforgotten knowledge.😊
I always feel motivated to cook when I watch your videos, otherwise the media just brainwashes you that cooking is just waste of time, when in reality we are working hard for food, and how much ever money u have u cannot eat gold and silver.
Great. Thank you for this great share 🙏🏾 but why only Bhakri and not millet Porridge or Dosa or Idlis ? Any difference in the nutritional availability to our bodies among these different forms of consumption ? Anyone? Thank you 🙏🏾
We used to make stuff ragi in gehu on daily basis on winters. We call it lesu. its our traditional way to have it like that in uttarakhand. And i love it. We also make roti from ragi and eat it with ghee and gur(jaggery).
Bajra pua is a great option for winter: bajra, gud, til - deep fried in ghee. A traditional delicacy eaten in winters “pearl millet sesame cookies” aka bajra ka pua 😊
Thank u so much for your suggestions of healthy food Plz also make one video on which utensills we should use to cook and store our food .As i have noticed that you never use plastic. Thank
Hi Rujuta, I have hypothyroidism so can you confirm which millet is good for me. I heard from people around me to avoid millets as I have thyroid. I am 40 years old
Millets can reverse any disease. But please don't stop ur thyroid medications abruptly. It needs to be tappered down. Please ask ur doctor to taper it slowly while you are on millet diet. Kindly refer to Dr.Sarala kadarvalli (M.D. Ayurveda).
Ma'am pls help me out. I have high calcium and high uric acid. Can I eat ragi flour. And pls suggest what to eat or what not to eat. Any video on uric acid??
Hi Rujuta, please guide whether we should give salt to kids less then 1 year old or not as our dadi -nanies used to give us salty food when we were in that age but everywhere on net everybody is saying that we should not give salt and sugar to the kids below 1 year as salt effects our kidneys adversely if given at the age of less then 1 year. I have a baby girl of 6 and a half months and I am confused whether I should give salt in her food or not.
My husband n child don’t like millet bhakri n m working mum so find it very hard to cook two different bhakris. But now i did it other way around. I make bajra dhebra, bajra vada, makai thepla etc. for breakfast n normal roti for lunch so they r eating happily. I hope this is okay. Please advice. Thanks
Mam mera routine hai tiffin jawar roti any pulses n sabji ...lunch mein bhi same n rice also ..... dinner kho chapathi dal is it k mam for weight loss its my daily same routine
Are millets not recommended for people who have hypothyroidism or any other thyroid problems? If so...how often can they have it or should they avoid millets completely
Mam how many times we should wash hair if someone has long hair. I got acne on forehead after applying oil and if I don't apply oil my hair gets frizzy and dry .
That is a breakfast or tea time snack. It has a different nutritional function. Crabs are good in winter for their heat but don't work in summer. That is how it is. We are not having Thaalipeeth as a meal. Also, we have bhajniche vade. It was had with chicken and limited things. The problem is that today we have a plethora of things and people combine different things like crazy. Sabudana Vada in a meal with chicken. Does not make sense and doesn't help in terms of time, nutrition and even effort.
Mam I soak नाचणी over the night And grind it , add water , and filter it Then boil the water content with little salt , it becomes a semisolid, which is very easy for elders or even babies which gives all the best of नाचणी

Even I make the same way.
It breaks or becomes too sticky to roll

As she said.. I agree.. hand-touch or hand-made has a unique and fabulous effect
Yeah even I make it that way.. It's so much easier and also way too soft than the regular method. And stays soft even after 7-8 hrs ..
