These always make me question whether my ink is god awful bc I look at some of these and think I would be happy with it and then they get absolutely flamed 😂
i didn’t realize initially that the first owl pic was fresh. i was like eh not artistically good but looks ok for aged. then the realization hit 💀💀💀💀 goddamn that’s horrendous lol
I really like the well-healed one discussed at the 8:14 mark. I haven’t spent much of my life getting tattooed 8:14 yet because I only recently have been able to afford the kind of tattoos I want from artists whose work I like (large scale, full color, bold line work). It’s on my body forever, so I want to be happy with how the tattoos will look when healed/settled/aged. That’s honestly the first thing I consider when deciding on a tattoo: how it’ll age. I really appreciate you reviewing some posts from the agedtattoos subreddit! It’s great to hear a tattooer’s perspective.
It's so good to see the side by side comparisons. I have held off getting extra tattoos has kept being drawn towards fine line drawings of architecture. luckily found a healed image which just ended lock like a shadow of a building that had been done in one block of colour with really bad holidays as all the lines had just smushed together
I'm still not convinced they are the same tattoo. The image on the left has a longer dragon face and the one on the right has a major line mishap on the belly. There are other details that aren't quite the same that *might* be explained by age or slightly different camera angle but those two really bug me.
I really like the fine line tattoos where the lines get bigger and softer, as long as the design is still visible. I feel like it's either that or they fade away. And i think it's cool that the tattoo can age so much with you and still look really good
Yep. I got a tattoo a few years ago now, on my thumb/hand. It's just linework, of a 'sketched' rose, with the word 'wonder' in the stem. I designed it, and the artist said he'd need to change it a bit to give it more space. I said okay, and years later, it looks pretty good. Some lines are getting a bit close, but it's still plenty readable, for the size it is. The top part/pedals of the rose is less than a square inch in size. So, considering the size, it looks really good.
I'm not a fan of colored tattoos. They fade too much imo. They look amazing when they're fresh, and then they just look dull when they're healed. Don't get me wrong, they still look pretty good. It's just ridiculous how much they fade.
My first tattoo on the back of my calf is in that neo traditional style. It definitely was very popular at the time. I was 18 and I got a huge anchor and rose and diamond with a bunch of bright colors. It’s a little cringy when I really think about it lol. It hasn’t aged that poorly all things considered. I got it done in Germany by a polish guy who couldn’t speak English. I’m almost 32 and my taste has definitely changed. Most of my tattoos are American traditional. I may consider getting some of the old ones altered or covered in the future but it is what it is for now. Wish I could post a picture 😂

I love your straight-up, honest, "squinty-eyed expert" opinion and I don't mind if you NEVER say anything "nice"! 👍🏽
Congratulations on 10k subs . You'll meet the 25k goal within two weeks . Definite big influencer due to the authority of Tattoo Knowledge. Good Show sure Enough, each and every .
I mean his tattoos are healed and pretty aged. Based on his other videos the eagle on his inner bicep was one of his first and it looks super solid to this day. Trad tattoos usually hold up super well because they have deep saturated colors, bold lines, and simple structure
Tbh, tattoo clients nowadays have unrealistic expectations of what a tattoo is gonna look like. Tattooers like Eliot Kohek who were featured in reputable magazines used filters to misrepresent their work, so, now people are expecting tattoos that can’t look like that in real life.
People!: most of these are just awful. What happened?! In the 90’s it looked like tattooing was coming up roses and that no-one would have to go with a shyty piece soon. It is said that crows can pass experience from gen to gen. Why can’t people? Too much individuality in an overcrowded world? Good vid, nevertheless. 👍
Sorry, I have a request. Can you tell me if this tattoo artist, in your opinion is worth the design fee $350 and an overall good tattooer, the fee is not applied to the tattoo total? I'm not good at uploading pics and stuff, something always goes wrong. His name is Jaysin Jefferson at Idle Hands Tattoo Studio, Knoxville TN.
Have you ever had it where you are talking shit about a type of tattoo whilst recording a video and the client in the shop is getting that type of tattoo hears?
@@kirkfagantattoo Okay, point taken haha.. but maybe someone could pick out tattoos you probably gonna like for you beforehand. You recently said you wanted to do some stuff about tattoos you think are well executed anyways

seeing you gain 3000+ subs in a few days is maddd. youre the reason I got to know more about tattos before getting my first one
Thankyou for teaching me the reverse side of weenus is called the “ditch”. I never knew
I prefer the reverse weenus though
How about antecubital?
What is a "weenus"? A small penis?
Me thinks the wearer of that owl tattoo never heard of SPF
Yeah, it so would be nice if the Redditors described how much sun exposure they get and how frequently they wear sunscreen 😅

Solid grucifix

On the money please one, honestly the healed is kinda fun. Like a vintage sign because of the font and fade.
Upside down cross w a G is probably the Ghost band logo (love them btw they're great)
It is! i love em too
personally I think the owl looks better with all the colour gone. 😉

The upside down g tattoo is healed great
That g cross tattoo is the logo for the band ghost. looks sick
I have a tattoo like 20:33, except after a skin issue it has little dots of white breaking up the thick lines >_> I can live with it but also fml

That dragon looks perfect to me. But it's also my style simple, fine line. I want them to spread for more coverage and less pain.
I agree!
u need to make a vid about those highly flitered tattoos on insta and how they look healed cause those artist never post healed pics ever
The person removed the snitch because they don’t support JK Rowling, not because they didn’t like the tattoo.
It was still caca 💩
Snitches get stitches or at least laser removal scarring faded blurs
Hey Kirk! Next time you do this can you put the fresh and healed tattoo side by side?
I want to see healed traditional tattoos.

the upside down cross with a G is a logo from a band called Ghost(BC). They are a more satanic ish band
I love this guy im glad hes getting a decent following pretty fast
I looked at the owl one and i thought it looked better aged, guess i just hate the initial aesthetic though
“Hey I never said I wasn’t a moron.” 😂😂😂
5:57 “traditional just garbageee look” 😮
I’m sure he means the specific tattoo is badly done, definitely not that neo-traditional looks like garbage! That’s my understanding anyway
Fern tattoo looks really blown out in healed photo
I emailed you my fresh and healed pics if you ever do another viewer submission video!
Jesse James Head that "Money Please" Palm tattoo.. I never saw it healed though
7:21 its a two diferent tatoo

Is there a way to keep watercolor looking good? I want to get a tattoo with water color but I don’t want it to look horrible if the color fades

What can u do for fine line tattoos to make them look like u just got it please help 😢
15:30 this one is scary!!
The BEST tattoo channel!
Me thinks that the cross with the G is something I don’t know about, or what it even means 😂
The wearer of the dog paws seems to have put on weight so the paws are way further apart, in my humble non professional opinion.
Can't wait for the viewer submitted review
It’ll be out on the 24th my friend
Fine line tattoos after a few years look like what I drew on people's arms with a pen in school🤷🏻♀️ for free
I’m here to say I was here before you passed ink master screenshot this

I dunno, i prefer the healed one @20mins.
Why do alot of Great tattoo artists have on them crappy tattoos?
I never could understand that?
Not u though I like ur traditional tattoos
Bc they and their buddies practice on each other!
