@brandonsean123 its considered tacky here in Spain by culture. Doesn’t mean my attitude is tacky or I think less. I totally agree with the importance of a tattoo artist's vibes when you're picking a studio/artist. One of my tattoos was done with an artist I initially had a good experience with but when I went back for a larger piece, she made a lot of subtle jabs at my skin color, my body hair, the acne hyper-pigmentation on my back. I FULLY trust my artist. He is a traditional tatter but he knows my style (not traditional) and he mixes our 2 styles so beautifully every single time. I just told him “I want a big ass snake sleeve, almost black and gray” and I would totally just let him do whatever he comes up with. I don’t think I trust anyone as much I do him 😂😂😂 That’s so sad 😂 He lives in another state but it’s worth the trip every time
my whole thing with "collaborating" with an artist is that i have a vague idea of the tattoos i want and a bunch of reference images, but i'm lowkey afraid to sit down with an artist and go "this is my idea, here are a few references i found, these are the elements i like from each reference. is this something?" and like... ultimately i would trust the artist to come up with the best possible version of my vague idea, i'm just afraid of like... that being annoying or whatever lmao mostly i just don't wanna go in with this idea that i have a lot of love for just to be made fun of or talked down to lmao biggest nightmare is later seeing that artist talking shit about my tattoo or me as a client when genuinely i want to be as not-annoying as possible in the process 😭 edit: it's so funny that the hotel company i work for used to be really conservative about tattoos like "no visible tattoos at all" but then they were like... struggling to hire kitchen and restaurant staff, so they relaxed the policy to "no face tattoos and all visible tattoos cannot be vulgar or violent"
Had an apprentice charge me 1500 for a small wrist tattoo. Didn't realize I was being scammed and it's only been 2 years and it's already blown out and messed up
I give my artist pretty much total freedom with the designs he does for me. I go in with 50 or so different references on my tablet and hand it over to him ( I have an all comic book characters theme ). He decides what character he wants to do, and he will usually draw something up. The only thing I reserve for my input is placement. I do heros on the right side of my body, and try to do their corresponding villains on the other side. He has done 5 or 6 actual copies of the images I brought, and drawn 8 or 9 himself from a few references. I trust his work and process completely enough to let him do what he does for a living without too much bs from me.
I myself have 5 tattoos at the moment and even though they may seem basic, one is a butterfly, one is a rose, a double heart. Yes they seem like the basic design but they actually represent my children my oldest nick name is bug hence the butterfly but in the wings are kk mirror imaged as my dad also called her kk bug. The double heart is my second daughter, she's my care bear. And the rose is my third daughter as her middle name is rose. When I get a tattoo it has to represent something that is special to me. Mind you that is my decision everyone's is different and they all are great. I have a idea and tell the tattooist and then let them have their own style as long as it includes what I want in the design as it represents something special, but they are welcome to have their own spin or design on the tattoo.
My end goal is to get a really cool plague doctor tattoo. But im gonna be really picky about my plague doctor. I love the look of them so I want to be sure it's done right. Definitely don't want it to end up looking like that one
Viewer with the good torso black and gray piece, looks like he saw the whole flash sheet and was like “yes” It was sooo clean tho, I would have done the same.
May not agree with many things on a lot of people say, but Jelly roll is right. Save ya coins for good work, it’s a luxury for a reason. I spent a bit more that generally would for some smaller work just recently to scope out a shop and ended up with the guy I was most interested in his work on a walk in. Wanted to make sure he had his screws on right. Willing to work with him for long term. The coffee can is getting filled with lots of extra hours at my job.
I understand why tattoos in America are expensive. I’m from Barbados and we have decent Tattoers but I’ve never seen even close to the quality of a tourist’s tattoos. You’re paying for quality.
only tattoos i got were during 10 years living in brazil with an indigenous tribe in the middle of the rainforest, and signifies the moment the tribe officially recognised me as a true member of there tribe, more specifically they are geometric markings that signify i am a shaman, since i went there to learn about indigenous medicines, and the bit that really makes my life worth it was when the Brazilian government sent me a letter confirming my status as a protected indigenous person, apparently the tattoos were only ever given to tribe members so the tattoos acted as ID edit: on a few trips to the tribe i got other tattoos, one time i took part in a hunt and earned hunter gatherer tattoos on my cheeks and chin, got leg tattoos which were considered me passing from a simple medicine man to a spiritual shaman (they apparently represent that i am one with the world around me), people have asked about my face tattoos and if i "regret getting them" and the answer is "these tattoos are a hard earned sign of respect that i will always show with pride"
That's how I am. This is what I'm looking for Rock the fuck out. If you do your research on your artist you don't have to tie their hands and creativity behind their backs
$50 for minimum? They are ripping you off , we did do $90 minimum for years and now we do $150 minimum but thats for up to an hour and if they only want a small simple cross its still $150 lol .
Off topic, but I want your opinion please. So my tattoo artist did a piece on my outide forearm for $950. Already too much, but I’m happy with it. Months pass and we’ve planned out a new piece even bigger. I tell him my budget is 700-800 max that’s including the tip. He free hands the piece and it’s 750. He decides to go a little further and says an extra 50$ for the extra space so now it’s 800$. It’s a back to back session. Thursday was 10 hours and it’s day two and we’re nearly done after 7 hours and he asks to cover a space of my back and I say sure. We’re now done and he says “honestly bro, I’ll probably charge you an extra 100$… it’s now 900$ flat. I felt like shit but it’s a huge nice tattoo. So that’s back in April and last week end of June I asked for an appointment. This mf said “honestly bro, I’ll probably charge you more since I hooked you up. It was a fun portfolio piece for me and it should’ve been 1,400$ instead of 800$. So this inside the forearm will be 1,200$.” So a hookup I didn’t even ask for is now my problem?!
Just my opinion but $900 for 17 hours worth of work?! If it is indeed quality work that’s a major discount at $50+ per hour. If your in the US than that is ridiculously cheap. The tattooer has the right to charge what he wants for your next one and you have the right to find another tattooer.

I FULLY trust my artist. He is a traditional tatter but he knows my style (not traditional) and he mixes our 2 styles so beautifully every single time. I just told him “I want a big ass snake sleeve, almost black and gray” and I would totally just let him do whatever he comes up with.
I don’t think I trust anyone as much I do him 😂😂😂
That’s so sad 😂
He lives in another state but it’s worth the trip every time
I love that Buckaroo tattoo and i love the font 😅
my whole thing with "collaborating" with an artist is that i have a vague idea of the tattoos i want and a bunch of reference images, but i'm lowkey afraid to sit down with an artist and go "this is my idea, here are a few references i found, these are the elements i like from each reference. is this something?" and like... ultimately i would trust the artist to come up with the best possible version of my vague idea, i'm just afraid of like... that being annoying or whatever lmao mostly i just don't wanna go in with this idea that i have a lot of love for just to be made fun of or talked down to lmao biggest nightmare is later seeing that artist talking shit about my tattoo or me as a client when genuinely i want to be as not-annoying as possible in the process 😭
edit: it's so funny that the hotel company i work for used to be really conservative about tattoos like "no visible tattoos at all" but then they were like... struggling to hire kitchen and restaurant staff, so they relaxed the policy to "no face tattoos and all visible tattoos cannot be vulgar or violent"
I have lotta shit tattoos from my years, I wanna get an irezumi body suit next year to cover up and learn myself irezumi.
22k followers😳insane, congrats💪🏽
My end goal is to get a really cool plague doctor tattoo. But im gonna be really picky about my plague doctor. I love the look of them so I want to be sure it's done right. Definitely don't want it to end up looking like that one
See if you could do a traditional style plague doctor. That would be dope probably
@@JustTheTip556 I've been saving references for a traditional plague doctor. I'm either going to go traditional or neo-traditional
Just wanted to say I enjoy binging your vids when I get stoned even tho I have all of 0 tattoos 😂
You’ll have 100k before the end of the year for sure 💪
i found a tattoo artist in the netherlands that i want for a flower sleeve. i am gonna say i have this amount just put flowers on me in youre style

Let’s goooooo🔥
6:42 heh it's pronounced "mick-cloud" generally
Hah!Fifty ! At GoodRebel they want 1500 nok for a horizontal line on the finger. That’s the lowest prize. 😅
I told my artist what I wanted and told him to do his thing
For the second one I literally said, I bet that's Ariel dejesus and oh look, I was right 😭😭😭😭😭
Viewer with the good torso black and gray piece, looks like he saw the whole flash sheet and was like “yes”
It was sooo clean tho, I would have done the same.
Oh no, I got roman numeral on my face 😂
Me and my brother both got half an inch tall roman X under the left eye as a brother thing we did together
only tattoos i got were during 10 years living in brazil with an indigenous tribe in the middle of the rainforest, and signifies the moment the tribe officially recognised me as a true member of there tribe, more specifically they are geometric markings that signify i am a shaman, since i went there to learn about indigenous medicines, and the bit that really makes my life worth it was when the Brazilian government sent me a letter confirming my status as a protected indigenous person, apparently the tattoos were only ever given to tribe members so the tattoos acted as ID
edit: on a few trips to the tribe i got other tattoos, one time i took part in a hunt and earned hunter gatherer tattoos on my cheeks and chin, got leg tattoos which were considered me passing from a simple medicine man to a spiritual shaman (they apparently represent that i am one with the world around me), people have asked about my face tattoos and if i "regret getting them" and the answer is "these tattoos are a hard earned sign of respect that i will always show with pride"
buckaroo dude got that cause he reconnected with his dad and that was the nickname his dad called him, im p sure
I’ve only gone to private studios and given free reign, it’s always been the best result, they’re the artist and I like their art so why not
That's how I am.
This is what I'm looking for
Rock the fuck out.
If you do your research on your artist you don't have to tie their hands and creativity behind their backs
The problem I have with tattoos is the person with the ink get the praise and adulation instead of the artist who did the work.
wow, the 2nd guys whole body looks so awesome. Most people with body suits look terrible.
that bodysuit was sick
Didn’t like the second plague doctor either
Neither do I tbh. And thats from a plague doctor fan
Cool
Ngl I hated Ed Hardy my whole life and just now realized it’s tattoo designed shirts
Amazing advice from Jelly Roll. People will go cheap on something PERMANENT
I'd honestly rather just take a trip to mexico and get a tattoo instead of paying the same price to get one in my own city without the trip, lol.
Yay! Engagement! 😂❤😂
50 bucks for a cross ISN'T bad-- thats hella good in my opinion eapecially if its perfect with straight lines and the spot that you want it in
$50 for minimum? They are ripping you off , we did do $90 minimum for years and now we do $150 minimum but thats for up to an hour and if they only want a small simple cross its still $150 lol .
I didn't realize you were in Mexico. That makes more sense now
Agree about spainy, he also got very very good skin for tattooing, very readable if im makin any sense lol.. :)
Its said ma-cloud, like highlander!
I saw it and thought of Crowley from Supernatural!
Face tattoo haver here, I love my face swords.
Aspinal has a sick back piece.
Sparrow? Or... Swallow??!
I have a Roman numeral tattoo I want it covered so bad lol
Help me get some farmapram my guy.
So this inside the forearm will be 1,200$.”
So a hookup I didn’t even ask for is now my problem?!
Just my opinion but $900 for 17 hours worth of work?! If it is indeed quality work that’s a major discount at $50+ per hour. If your in the US than that is ridiculously cheap. The tattooer has the right to charge what he wants for your next one and you have the right to find another tattooer.
yo i got the roman numerals, can i hit u up w a cover up? for real tho
👍
Dillon is not a fighter
Have you seen alex the terrible tattoos?!?!?
Jellyroll is hot garbage juice
They don’t let you start tattooing untill you can laugh at a kitten drowning. True story
I dont like the tattoos on the first guy. It looks like a highschooler doodled on a page and put it on his face. It's just not professional looking.
Thank you for blessing us with your wisdom Kirk 🙌🏻🧎➡️
