Ten out of ten Peter! A fantastic, engaging dialogue. Quite sobering to hear staff from ICM being called away, probably never to return. I wish them well. I for one would be very interested in their 48 scale Marauder in the Flak Bait livery... All the best Peter from a cool cloudy Stratford (New Zealand) Friday afternoon. Cheers, Dennis.
Hi Peter, a good appraisal of the Telford Modelling Show. Firstly I wish all the People in ICM Models and the Ukraine a happy end to 2024 and look forward to better 2025. The Airfix 1/48 Lysander and Sea King HC.4 model kit look like are going to be best sellers and excellent models to build. It also looks positive for Revell with their new 1/32 Gloster Meteor F8/FR9 and Hawker Hunter T7/T7A two seater new for next year. Perhaps they are beginning to turn the corner for exciting new kits in the future. Three cheers for Airfix and Revell! Thank you for producing your excellent model kit reviews, modelling industry appraisals and discussion of the more controversial aspects of the hobby. Lively and friendly debate is what we need. I understand that it takes lots of behind the scenes production to bring all your viewers these videos. Keep up the great work and perhaps a discussion on pre-painted photo etched parts in the future…
Nice to see a couple of faces from the spectacular ICM, one of my top kit manufacturers. Well produced, uncommon subjects, fine detail, more power to them and let's hope this invasion is bought to a swift end, God bless them.
Loverly video Peter, I have one of the display cases I got last year at Telford and they are excellent. I did see the 3D printed ships, and they were very nice, unfortunatly too small for me now I wont go below 1/350 ish as a rule these days.. A bit frustrighting we did not catch each other, however like you people stopping me to say hello which was fabulous, I cannot do it in a day anymore. already booked my hotel for next year. I did walk into Telford to get cash its only 5 mins each way but it was long enough for sombody to buy the kit I wanted but they could not take payment for, bit frustrighting.
The ICM ladies were an inspiration it has to be said. It was great chatting to them with you Peter. I’ve seen those Perspex cases before and agree they are beautifully made and very reasonable price wise. Thanks for the video and take care.
Great video, Peter! I picked up the ICM stands (Black Edition) from Sprue Brothers here in the US. There are 3 stands. It's says, "For all scales" on the box, but I would say they're a bit on the small side. Good for 1/144 to 1/48 (smallish) size.
I don't know why but I've always loved Revell's 1/32 scale aircraft kits. I have the mosquito, bf110 and even a DB605 converted 32nd scale Spitfire MK1a -"Messerspit!" That 1/32 Meteor will be a must have for me now that Luke has joined them. Looks fantastic! 👍
Hi Peter l missed your video on Friday as l was already at Telford and as l was not going to be there Sunday as you say there is so much to see l was here there everywhere rushing around to buy stuff we must have been like ships that pass in the night 😄 maybe next time 👍
@@barrywalker8790 I was there both days at the ICM stand at noon...So sorry I missed you Barry. Hope to see you soon...maybe Nantwich Universal Model Show 23/2/25? 🤞🏻 Next time at Telford, I will make it clearer when I will be there. ☺️
Picked up one of your cards off one of the club stands, think it was either South Cheshire or Stoke on Trent, they're class particularly with the Me 109 picture on the back.

Back in the day the show was held at different venues around the country, Telford is a bit too much of a trek for me but at least I can watch the youtube videos.
Thanks for the video, and I find the dedication of the ICM guys operating as they are amazing. I am currently building the Beaufort - a lovely kit. Now, on a humorous note and harking back to the POS video, there is a cycling website called the Velominati - Keepers of the Cog. They have the Rules, and the Lexicon, and you dare not break them! I do cycle, but don't hunt in packs of MAMILs, and cover up my lycra! Maybe the anti-POS modelling mob could have a group, say the Plastominati - Keepers of the Sprue? Rules may include Thou shalt not POS, thou shall only model in the one true scale, thou shall not pull the needle back through the airbrush, thou shall pile on Airfix if the number of rivets is wrong.... etc.
Would of liked to have meet you but i didnt see you , I bagged a Trumpy 1/350 Yorktown from modelsforsale ,the card reader was really slow and i had zero signal in there.
I missed you Saturday Peter,That wooden mossie you showed, reminds me of the metal wind tunnel Vulcan B2 I was given when Woodford closed.I unfortunately presented it to my local ATC squadron when my dad retired as CO,and never saw it again.
Peter How did the Revell Meteor compare to the HK Model version given they're in the same scale. I'd have preferred an F3/4 (the definitive war time development, albeit after the war ended) but the commercial logic of F8 given the multiple users makes perfect sense. I'm not really that bothered by the Engine detail as it will mostly be hidden (if I did a build); cockpit and wheel wells detail is more important. I'd prefer a cheaper base kit and separate upgrade sets or separate interior detail kits rather than pay more for detail I'm not that interested in.
Peter is so famous, he needs an entourage to summon his subjects at the shows 🤣🤣🤣. Telford looked like fun, too bad that style of model show is pretty much non existent in post covid Canada.
Peter I’ve had two pairs of God hand cutters from emodels and both have broken so I’ve gone back to my old ones that I’ve had for years that will cut through anything my opinion they are machined to the point where they become brittle and general use are no use whatsoever to me also being left-handed apparently left-handed people use more force than right-handed people when using things like scissors cutters etc whether theres any truth in that I have no idea
@@ColinSpratley-t3e I think they work well, but within quite a narrow operating window of performance...Exceed that and they snap like a carrot. 😕 I use the Tamiya & ZM ones too, so choose my GH battles...
I'm sorry but I'm getting on my soap box here. Nippers, nipper reviews and nipper tests..... what is going on ?. Who in their right mind would pay £50 for a pair of cutters. I bought a nail clipper from my local pound shop for 99p and it has served me very well for the last 2 Years probably completing 20 models. I think modellers are getting a bit obsessed with unnecessary stuff.
@@Mortlaker I understand your point, but clearly you’ve never tried them: They cut through sprue like butter and leave a perfect even cut in the plastic, needing minimal clean-up. 👍🏻
@@Peter-Oxley-Modelling-Lab No obviously I haven't tried them - I just think modellers are being ripped off sometimes. Nippers are nippers . Minimal clean up is still clean up. My advice is don't waste your money, buy 2 more kits instead.
