- Mr. Lee Nam began his career in the 1960s, working alongside his father until the 1970s when his father retired. Standing just a little over 5 feet tall, he uses a footstool to reach his clients, which I find fascinating. I think his razor got dull mid shave and for some reason he chose not to pause and strop it. I believe this because his technique is on point and we've seen him work before in other videos without issue. Maybe this is the reason why you were left with cuts

in my opinion Hair Cut Harry put his shop on the map. Straight razor wet shaves even done correctly everyone face reacts differently theirs no guard on those blades. part of it

The reason for the high price is that he charges about $100 to film the haircut. This was said in another guy's video. If the customer did not bring a camera it wouldn't be anything close to that price. The barber gets a lot of filming requests and I'm sure that impacts his business. As for the cuts I'm not sure what's up with that. I've seen him shave several others without a problem.

He has the right if he lets you know in advance. But giving you the haircut and then afterwards just multiplying the price by whatever he pleases is not good business practice! It's definitely not fair.

He shouldn't really charge more, if he got a decent tip at the end then that's ok👍
In South Korea tipping is not customary. If you insist on leaving a tip this may be seen as rude - and can cause acute embarrassment even if you think someone should be rewarded extra for their work.

If it is possible legally, the barber must say the price before to start the cutting.

It's quite outrageous to charge you 4 times the normal, advertised price without a reason and without letting you know in advance. That's not what I'm used to from South Korean businesses, to charge foreigners several times the normal rate 😮

I must be honest, as a barber of many years, i think this little fella is really quite piss poor all round, lots of fannying about, lives off the steam of HCH visit.
That shave looked very bad.. so many cuts wow….

Seems he was using a dull straight razor instead of the shavettes with the disposable blades
Also he applied a used bloody razor to the strop during the middle of the shave. From a cross contamination/infectious point of view that is terrible technique.
I think that’s a little warning to all you You tubers , stay away from him and his shop , because the old man wasn’t born yesterday

He is one of the worst barbers one can visit in korea. Harry visited it before reconstruction because it was one of the oldest barber shops,

I've never understood why so many older Asian barbers seem to only use thinning shears to cut hair. You obviously aren't getting a good cut that way.
