Hi Neil and Theresa, totally agree with you exercise for me is a must although I have been struggling with it of late, I have been following the ms gym on Facebook for a while now and I too find it very helpful. Good luck with the LP and I will look forward to seeing your next vlog
I just love watching your videos. They bring a smile to my face. You two are just too cute. you can tell that you two love each other very much. You're very lucky to have her and she's very lucky to have you. Seem like a great team. Good luck on the spinal tap. You'll laugh about it when it's done because of all the stressing. 😊
Thank you for your lovely message, Teresa and I sure are very lucky to have each other. We go back a long way and we were actually married to different people once! The wrong people. We are where we need to be now, together. I hope the “tap” will be a breeze, I’ll make a video either way so watch this space. 👍😊
Glad you're doing well! Good to hear from you! The exercise is so important... I find any excuse, park way out in the parking lots, carry lots of stuff around, mow, hike, walk every chance I get. I've even started parking my truck at the top of my hill and running up to it (or at least as far as I can...lol) Getting better each time :) It's hard to dig deep, and push every day, esp with the fatigue, but it does make a difference :) Hope you're doing well after your puncture, just stay laying down for as long as they tell you :)
Hi Laura, nice to hear from you too.. it’s been a little while. In fact quite sometime ago I watched one of your videos😊 The exercise and mobility is really good not only for us physically but I feel mentally as well. For me it’s proof I can still do things, albeit much slower now. The LP went well thanks, I’ll be doing a video so watch this space of the next few days.
Hi Neil & Theresa , it’s lovely to see you both . You’re absolutely right about exercising , I’ve heard about the ms gym and I’ve seen some of his videos but I’ve just been quite lazy lately, so thank you for the reminder !! Good luck for the lumbar puncture, I’m sure it will all go smoothly for you. Keep warm & keep us posted , Grace x
Hi, I am so glad to see you both. I enjoyed your video because it so happens just yesterday after observing a group of people power walking, I considered starting my routine again. (I was assigned physical therapy before being diagnosed with MS, but we had to stop because the pain was intolerable, and I also declined doing them at home because of the recuperation time and fatigue. My stiffness was soo bad the docs thought I was in an automobile accident that affected my upper body) Now, after being diagnosed and hearing others testimony like yours, I am considering giving it another go. Thanks! Sending you guys a hug. :) You are in my prayers. PS Praying also for the LP procedure. Please now we are there with you Neil, cheering you on, and holding Teresa's hand. God bless you abundantly.
Thank you Jayleen for your lovely words of encouragement. I’m so pleased that our video has inspired you a little to make a start once again on your exercises, even if it’s only small baby steps to start with.. it’s something! Set yourself small achievable targets, and expand on them when you feel you can. Good luck.
Hi Neil and misses Bradley glad to see you guys and yes exercise works wonders for me and my symptoms I've found planks to be extremely helpful as they stretch your back and strengthen it anyways you guys take care and good luck with the lp
It was so great to see your video in my inbox this morning! You and Teresa have been in my thoughts. The decision to get the lumbar tap must have been a very difficult one but one in which will help the doctors move forward in treatment. Doctors are very funny if they can not check their little boxes or have their lab results come back with specific answers. The exercise channel is great! I suffer from neuropathy and tremors and find walking and exercise helps greatly. Helps with the mood too! Best regards to you both!
Hi Tamara, thank you for your lovely message. Yes the exercises do help with mood because I find once I’ve done them, it’s a sense of achievement and I think to myself good, I can still do them! So pleased you’re enjoying our videos, and thank you so much for your support. Keep up the good work with the walking and exercise. Take care.
Try not to be too anxious, I was really worked up before mine and it went really well. Theresa should be able to be by your side, my partner was with me holding my hand and comforting me. Just do as your told....lol, and everything they say and you should be fine. All the best and I hope these are words of comfort x
Hey mate, I made it to the end! I'm sure today will go fine so just grit your teeth and bare it. It is really for the greater good. You sound a lot happier than when we spoke previously so the exercise must be doing wonders for your wellbeing, I agree with you about keeping moving and it is great you have found a exercise plan that you can work with. I hope to hear from you soon and I'm sure you will be telling us all how easy it all was in the end. Take care man.
Thanks Ian, yeah not long to go now I’m counting down the minutes. It’s just something I’ve got to do in order to move forward, it’ll probably be a breeze and afterwards I’ll be wondering what all the fuss is about lol. I’ll put another video out soon, so what this space. Cheers.
I was so glad to see a new video from you guys. I have been thinking about you, hoping you were okay. You look good! And you sound positive and motivated, which makes me so happy. It really made me smile. The exercise routine is such a good idea. I absolutely believe it when you say you feel like it’s helping you stay somewhat mobile. I do weight lifting (nothing super hard) and different floor exercises for my back twice a week at a physio clinic. I have to go there to get it done - I don’t have the disciplin or motivation to get it done at home, unfortunately. I think it’s fantastic that you are doing the exercises at home, twice a day even. Respect! Best of luck with the lumbar puncture tomorrow! You know, by this time tomorrow it’s all over. I always like to remind myself of that when I anxiously await something. I will send you positive thoughts and look forward to hear about it in a future video.
Thanks Rikke, and I really appreciate your encouraging words. Yes, I’ve told myself the same thing, that is by this time tomorrow it will be all over. Hopefully I won’t have the headache, 🤞 fingers crossed. Yep, I’m really focused with the exercises, sometimes it does feel a pain having to do them but then I tell myself they’re keeping me out of the wheelchair! The exercises you do sound really good, especially if they’re helping with the back issues. How is your back, and things with you generally? Oh, Happy Birthday again😊 Are you doing anything nice this evening? Take care.
Thank you for the birthday wishes. I had a nice and quiet day. To me it’s just like any other day, so I did what I normally do on Thursdays: exercise, drink slow coffee in a local coffee shop and relax. It was perfect. I had a few family members over for breakfast today though. It was very hygge 😊👍🏼 Thank you for asking about my wellbeing too. I am doing quite well. Going for the annual checkup, tests and all that at the MS clinic on Tuesday. I think it will be fine. I am more interested in the annual MRI, which they will refer me to. My back is still feeling great. And I feel like exercising is helping it stay that way. My fear of having excruciating back pain again is a big reason why I drag my butt to the “gym” too. I am so happy your spinal tap went well yesterday and am very excited to hear about it when you have the energy to tell us all about it 😃👍🏼
Hi guys. Great to see you both and so funny that my friend and I had exactly the same thought yesterday about not seeing a video for a while and here we go. So very strange it was as looked on your channel yesterday to see if I'd missed one! I haven't had any letter about my MRI done in December yet but no surprise on that one. Got a appointment from the spinal clinic for March as my back is getting worse. Anyway your both looking well which is always good so take care and will certainly try more exercise 😉
Hi Adrian, good to hear from you. Good luck with your appointment at the clinic, hope you get some answers. Since my spinal scans showed up clear, I feel more confident about pushing my back a bit harder. Take it easy.
Hi!! It's nice to see your update vlog. I've heard about MS Gym and i could definitely see how that helps us. I hope you get sone definitive answers soon. The LP will be just fine but just remember to breathe and afterwards lie flat on your back for a long while. How is your walking today? See you and Teresa in the upcoming vlogs, Happy New Year!! Avril
Hi Avril, thanks for this. I’m just eager to get the LP over and done with, it’s just something I’ve got to do. My walking is normal for me. So round the house I’m furniture walking, outside I’ll need a crutch for balance and the wife😊 Also distance is very limited but I can still manage. Nice to hear from you, Happy new year.
I was terrified to get an LP but had a great team do it. I need 3 more mris with & without contrast but id much rather have the LP again! I go up & down my flight of stairs dozens a times a day but it's sure getting harder. My back pain is worse cos the leg spasms are endless grrr. You're giving me more hope that I can do more exercises since you can!
Hi Lisa, hey.. great to hear from you again. I hope you’re keeping as well as can be. So I’m guessing your LP wasn’t too bad then, I’m pretty scared myself. The MRI’s can be a bit gruelling can’t they, lying still for me is difficult as I’m sure it is for you. I get it, good luck with them. I’m also getting the leg spasms, they are much worse and considerably more weakened after I’ve exercised but I try and go through it. My legs just shake uncontrollably when I’m trying to walk and it takes a lot of concentration. Take care.
@@NeilBradleyMS I got the bad headaches while sitting up for days after my L.P. but drinking caffeine (I got those little Expresso cans) helped & as soon as you lay flat they go away. Much better than my usual migraines! The holding still in the mri is what my issue is. I was cold & shivered through a whole brain scan but it came out fine tho! My spasms improved once my vitamin D went up but now i just can't seem to find a comfy position any more. I was asleep & woke to back pain & me yelling ow today when one came on. Even my stomach tightens! Afraid exercise will make it worse but maybe not! Best to you both!
I exercise my legs three times a week ,squats with weighted vest 4sets ,step lift, and exercise bike, stretch your hip flexors makes a big difference .
I agree 100 percent with the exercises, I do it everyday and It certainly helps. I hope the LP went ok? I’m sure it will be fine. I’m waiting for a 2nd nerve block in my neck cause I got occidental neuralgia because of MS. Not looking forward to it but I’d do anything for this pain to go. Love your channel :)
Thank you Adele, it means a lot that you’re enjoying the channel. Yes the exercises help not only physically but mentally also I feel, because we set ourself these small challenges and it feels good when we can still achieve them. The Neuralgia sounds just horrible, hopefully the nerve block will give you some relief. Hey, you can do this ok? The LP went well, I’m in the process of making a video so watch this space. Take care of yourself. x
Thanks Neil, I hope it does too. There going to do it with ultrasound so they can get closer to the nerve than last time. I watched it on UA-cam, yep shouldn’t of done that! I can’t wait to see your next video about the LP. Your awesome Neil. Look after yourself x
Thanks Adele, you’re so kind! I totally understand your anxiety about your forthcoming procedure. I was tempted to UA-cam the LP before I had it done but I didn’t. And I’m so glad I didn’t, because since then we’ve watched a video and I think I would have bottled it!🙈 I’m sure you will be absolutely fine, if they offer you something to calm yourself a little, definitely take it. I did. When are you having it done?
June! This was an urgent referral too! I’m tempted to go to gp and ask for them to push the waiting time closer. This pain is is a constant crushing, pushing sensation etc at the back/base of head. It’s slurs my speech too. Interesting to think what your bands will read from the LP. I’m thinking surely it will show something because of your symptoms to me clearly show an inflammation of your nerves etc x
Ahh that’s not good having to wait so long, I hope you manage to bring it forward. Yes, I’m very interested to know my results, I’ve got this feeling they’re going to be clear. And if so, what’s wrong with me I wonder. Hmmmm🤔x
It's great to see you, I was just thinking about you, cuz you hadn't posted a video. Prayers that your stabb in the back goes well 👍😁 Teresa is right, we all have been stabbed in the back lol. I have seen my neurologist and had a EMG and it was normal. But she sent me to get lab work done and the man who did it said OMG I've never have done this many at one time. It was 15 tubes he had to fill up. He showed me the cost it was $1,400 I was in shock how much they cost. So anyway she is sending me to get a skin biopsy now. Which reminds me, I need to call this Dr to make an appointment to go get it done. It was Great! To see your doing so good. I missed you two 😁 prayers and unroll next time 💜😁💗
Thanks Cheri, lovely to hear from you and thank you for your words of encouragement. The cost of medical care is astronomical isn’t it. We are very lucky to have the NHS in the uk. Good luck with your tests.
@@NeilBradleyMS your welcome and Thank you 😁 yes it's crazy how much it is. I have to pay $200 out of my pocket. Yes you are very lucky you don't have to pay like we do..
How did it go, Neil? I'm all the way across the pond, but you've been in my thoughts. It's evening where you're at now so everything is done and I'm just wondering how you're feeling. The worst part for me was not the actual spinal tap, but was the headache occurred afterwards for the rest of the evening and into the next day. The best thing you can do is just lay down as much as you can and drink some good black or green tea, some strong coffee, or some coke. I don't do soft drinks, but I did do coffee. The headache is from the loss of cerebral fluid around your brain. It just needs to accumulate again. It's amazing how our bodies work, isn't it? My spinal tap was totally unexpected. I was actually going in for a baclofen pump trial, in which they insert the baclofen into your spinal canal, but my mother was with me and she asked if I should have a spinal tap since they're already going to be there anyways. I was 32 years old at the time and she was not my best friend when she said that. Yet, the doctors agreed that it was the best time to do it since I was already being poked anyways in the same area. Now that I've had it done. I'm actually grateful and relieved that she suggested it. It gave me my definite diagnosis of MS. My MRIs already showed lesions, but like you, I didn't have that many, yet I was progressing so quickly and showing such spinal cord symptoms. I can no longer walk since I was diagnosed 7 years ago in 2012. I also had a fear that it could have been ALS or something else that was causing the symptoms. Now that I've had the spinal tap and it showed the o bands, I am more ease and have accepted the fact that I have MS, as crappy as this disease is. And, having your spinal fluid tested, rules out many other diseases and conditions that you may not know you have. Well, back to work. It's only 1 here in the afternoon in Florida, but while I was doing my squats on my scooter, thinking about you and Theresa because of your video you posted yesterday saying how important it is we still try to move whatever we can, I was thinking about how you got through today. Drop us all a video and let us know. Hope you sleep well.
Thank you for your beautiful message, I’ve just read it out loud to Teresa. This morning I awoke and wasn’t sure how I was going to get through today, but I did. I’ve taken lots of small snaps of video which I’m going to put together over the next few days so watch this space. It went better than I ever could have expected, honestly I hardly felt a thing. The only thing that was slightly disconcerting was they tweaked a nerve a little which made my right leg go a bit weird. But even that wasn’t too bad. I’m so pleased our video yesterday inspired you, and thank you for telling me about your experience with the spinal tap (and Bac pump). I am quite anxious to know the results. Thank you so much for thinking about us today, it really means a lot to have your support - Neil & Teresa. x
Thanks Jane, yes it did go very well. I’m going to be putting a video together over the weekend, so watch this space. Thank you so much for thinking of us. 👍
Hi Neil & Teresa lovely to see you both & Neil your looking alot more perky so that's brilliant, I do those exercises, been doin them awhile, I've seen that fella before, hes good, like you I twerk things to suit what I can do, up & down stairs is great and I do the holding the kitchen sink and as much as I can crunch down, usually afterwards I'm quite shaky & dithering and stumbling about but I'm carrying on anyway, my back feels straighter and I can get round the house but I can still only walk to the front gate with help so I still need the wheelchair to go out which I still hate, I'm having some probs with my meds at the moment their making me sick so not kept many down, I go to hospital on 18th Feb to see my Ms Nurse so gonna mention it, I've already spoke to the Rebif nurse about my injection sites their so hot and painful with palm size hard lumps, lasts about 3 days but it's starting to make me nervous injecting so their gonna get back to me about it, I'm not well at the mo and pain at night is getting unbearable, none of these pills take the pain away so I have insomnia again cos I just cant relax so not a happy bunny at the moment. You will be ok when you go the hospital, I think Teresa will be able to go in with you, Anyway your both looking great, keep up the good work & best wishes to you both xxxx 😘😘
Hi Sue, lovely to hear from you. Good to hear you’re also keeping up with exercises and trying to keep as mobile as possible. Have you considered asking your MS nurse if you can go on a more effective drug. For example Tecfidera is very good and it’s in tablet form, no injection site reactions. Xx
Hi Patty, good to hear from you. It went very well thank you and with no problems. I’m in the process of making a video, so watch this space. I hope all is well with you.
Hey Neil! You are 15 days older than me, aint that a hoot! Listen the LP is nothing to stress over, just make sure to stay flat as much as you can and drink caffeine after (these will help with if you get headache). Teresa love your attitude! Hey check out AARON Boster MD, he has some Amazing MS videos, VERY informative! Just Keep Swimming!
Thanks Cathlene, 15 days eh😊 The LP went really well yesterday, I’m in the process of making a video. So watch this space. Yep, Aaron’s channel is awesome, I’ve been a subscriber for quite a while now. Excellent source of info. I hope you’re keeping well.

Thank you so much for thinking about us today, it really means a lot to have your support - Neil & Teresa. x
Hi Neil. I hope the puncture went well. I'm thinking of you.
Thanks Jane, yes it did go very well. I’m going to be putting a video together over the weekend, so watch this space. Thank you so much for thinking of us. 👍

Good for you!!
Hi Neil & Teresa lovely to see you both & Neil your looking alot more perky so that's brilliant,
I do those exercises, been doin them awhile, I've seen that fella before, hes good, like you I twerk things to suit what I can do, up & down stairs is great and I do the holding the kitchen sink and as much as I can crunch down, usually afterwards I'm quite shaky & dithering and stumbling about but I'm carrying on anyway, my back feels straighter and I can get round the house but I can still only walk to the front gate with help so I still need the wheelchair to go out which I still hate, I'm having some probs with my meds at the moment their making me sick so not kept many down, I go to hospital on 18th Feb to see my Ms Nurse so gonna mention it, I've already spoke to the Rebif nurse about my injection sites their so hot and painful with palm size hard lumps, lasts about 3 days but it's starting to make me nervous injecting so their gonna get back to me about it, I'm not well at the mo and pain at night is getting unbearable, none of these pills take the pain away so I have insomnia again cos I just cant relax so not a happy bunny at the moment.
Xx
How did it go yesterday?
Hi Patty, good to hear from you. It went very well thank you and with no problems. I’m in the process of making a video, so watch this space. I hope all is well with you.
Neil, I’m so glad to hear it. I will watch for your video.
