Awesome idea mdj.👍. We electricians call that self fusing silicone or "rubber tape" used to insulate exposed copper wire. Gonna try it. Also congrats on the gold . Way to represent the USA. Love the channel and keep the tips coming.
Thanks for the shoutout bro! Another key is it only adheres to itself. It will not stick to the cork and tear pieces out when you remove it or leave adhesive behind. I bet your video gets a lot more views than mine did a couple years ago. 😂
Ordered some and just wrapped a couple rod handles. That stuff is legit. We made the leap and moved to Texas (from Vacaville) and here i can’t just NOT FISH when it rains like in California. This should help me keep my grip and also keep the cork clean if I decide to sell any rods. Thanks for the tip!
Tried it myself and it work pretty good, just note that you want to double over on your first and last rap of the rod cork so the edges don't peel over. The tape won't stick to the cork but sticks well to its self. Thanks MDJ!
Thanks for the tip Mark. I have a time with my rods, especially in the rain. I am definitely going to try this. Good luck on the rest of the BPT this season.
I've seen you do this and I always wonder why and now I know thank you for sharing Mark I appreciate it that's what makes you my top angler. I've always said you're quality person very knowledgeable about your sport and willing to share..#MDJ #Tightlines
Thanks for such a great tip! I was wondering what I could do for more grip on my rods. Once my hands got wet from catching fish it always felt as if I'd lose my rods when setting the hook. Thank for the tip! Where do you sale your rods? I'd like to purchase a few!
I do the same thing except I use grip tape, but under the tape I’ll use electrical tape I’ll pull out about 2 foot and I’ll spin it and wrap the handle n that bc it helps create ridges on the handle, then I’ll wrap it n grip tape

How can I buy some of you old gear?
feel like this is a great way to take an expensive rods sensitivity and turn in into a $50 rod.
DildoSwaggins Thanks for watching 🤙🏾
Probably has to do with your name not the tape 🤷♂️🤘
@@kevie3 Soft squishy things dont transfer vibration as well as hard n light things.
Hummm. the Winn grips lews is using are looking better.
N5KDA Use that, it’s all personal preference👍🏾
@@MarkDanielsJr What did you think of the Winn grips compaired to the tape wrap???
I don’t have an opinion, I just prefer the tape. I’m sure it’s fine
How long does this last for?
Dustin Halstead All year for me. Just can’t cut it
