*I love it **enjoyable.fishing** recommend I’m using it for my 1.0 Crankbaits and small Jerkbait. Paired with my Assassin. Works great, feels great. Would definitely recommend this setup.*
Mark thanks for the tips on setting up a casting reel. You made it simple and understandable. May be the first pro to explain this to us novice fishermen, you are the man!!!!
Great video bruh. For me (non sponsored) I prefer the SLX DC reel in fact have sold most of my older Shimano reels without the DC. It is a game changer and even the Curado DC is higher end. Thanks again for your videos. Keep it up.
Very good info thanks I don't have that same exact reel but have reels that have the same adjustments on them and I know a little about them But you info help me better understand more than I knew think you so much Good luck to you in the future 👍👍
Great video, thank you, I love baitcasters, but had my share of birds nests, I sometimes forget to readjust when switching lures or other baits! You explained it well, going heavy to lighter weight!
Great how-to on setting up a new baitcaster. The JM Platinum is a great reel for the $, super light and they cast great. What's your rule of thumb on how far you fill your spools? Any difference between types of line?
I wish they would've kept the cabela/daiwa baitcasters at cabelas. Haven't tried the carbonlight or platinum reels. But that pro qualifer is hard to beat for the sale price. Heck of an option to fill in a gap without breaking the bank.
Man really been enjoying the video, have a question ,why is it that you always have a Marshall, watch wheeler win and no Marshall .Is it different tournament rules, thanks for the answer if you check you comments 😉
I should set my reels to where i dont have thumb spool. But metanium all breaks off, set on 2, spool side play, cast a country mile. Then you learned how to undo a professional over run blow up time to time 😂. Next video how to get backlash out on braid, mono, fluro and what to do when you have true professional blow up.
Funny I just uploaded a history of that old video I filmed with you at the flw clear lake tournament. 2010 not sure if your remember me but it was fun. Great video my friend.
Mdj never used these reels so can't say . But 14 pounds of drag? Alot of reels I've bought in last 2 years which is like 4 reels have 18 pounds of drag and 1 has 20. So I don't know how much drag is enough drag to pull weeds and a 4 pounder out. Help me understand the drag poundage.

Very informative on how to properly set them up. Always good to get new pointers on how to properly set.

🙏🏾🙏🏾
This was a great instructional video, best one I've seen, I wish I saw this when I got started👍
Glad it was helpful!
Best explanation I have heard on tuning a reel and preventing backlash
Damn! I always wondered what that lever did. I'm new to the bait caster reels, so THANK YOU!

Yessir it’s all personal preference 💪🏾

Appreciate it MDJ .. I'm going to have to try this ...
Awesome demonstration
Mark, great explanation of how to use this reel. Going to help a lot. 🎣🐟
Great video, thank you, I love baitcasters, but had my share of birds nests, I sometimes forget to readjust when switching lures or other baits! You explained it well, going heavy to lighter weight!
You definitely explain things so everyone can understand what you are talking about, thanks.
Great info Mark. Thanks
MDJ, I saw you were putting in the time on the Stine! Wish you nothing but the best. Be careful out there, there are hazards all over that lake.
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Great video! Best simple explanation I have heard. Definitely learned how to dial my reels in better. Thanks!
Awesome, thanks for the info!
Great informative video

No real rhyme or reason, just don’t over spoil
The easiest casting, smoothest casting reel I ever owned or used. Period. Gotta grab a couple more. Thanks for the video. Rick
Got my first Johnny Morris real last year and gotta say it's a sweet real for sure can't wait to really put it to the test
Dude I just got my first Johnny Morris!!!! Definitely up there with my favorite reels!!!!! This seasons gonna be epic!
They should make a 7 gear ratio.
I wish they would've kept the cabela/daiwa baitcasters at cabelas. Haven't tried the carbonlight or platinum reels. But that pro qualifer is hard to beat for the sale price. Heck of an option to fill in a gap without breaking the bank.
Hey Mark could you do a spinning rod setup video? Thank you!
Excellent content bro!!!!
excellent video never knew you was a fellow Johnny Morris user.
Man really been enjoying the video, have a question ,why is it that you always have a Marshall, watch wheeler win and no Marshall .Is it different tournament rules, thanks for the answer if you check you comments 😉
Same tournament rules. There are times when there are not enough marshals ( Pro circuit ) to go around. In MLF format everyone has a boat official
100% Lews reel there nice
I'm definitely going to grab a few of these reels. Looks like a low profile reel!
THANKS! What lure weight, line weight are compatible? Say 12lb line and lure wt ?? Mark Daniels Jr
Nice! MDJ I learned to tie the Miller knot from one of your vids “good knot” curious do you use it for drop shot or the standard Palomar?
Everything Flouro 👍🏾
I LOVE THAT IT SHOWS WHAT IS ON AND OFF INSIDE.... WISH LEWS WOULD TAKE NOTE
Great info
Love that reel, works great for me.
Great content MDJ
I have 2 JMs.. tell ur boi JWheels U explained it better. LOL Thanks MDJ. Ant in OKC
😂😂👍🏾
I'm asking a slightly personal question, why live in California with such high taxes and terrible wildlife management?
I live in Alabama 👍🏾
@@MarkDanielsJr I'm so sorry, my buddy said you were a California guy. My apologies. Forgive my ignorance.
@@MarkDanielsJr appreciate you read people's comments and respond, I truly am sorry for my ignorant question.
Rule number one buy Shimano
Those are great reel too
On here Schooling them! Get it MDJ!

Hahaha 😂😂
Daiwa Tatula's and MagForce Z is where it's at.
Cool story bro
Funny I just uploaded a history of that old video I filmed with you at the flw clear lake tournament. 2010 not sure if your remember me but it was fun. Great video my friend.
Good times 👊🏾
I keep my brakes locked but by knob loose so I can get better casting distance
MDJ - how do i set my drag (spinning vs. casting)
Question do all baitcasters as far as reel speed the numbers like hi numbers is that like fast or slow or do it depends on the brand
My question is do you still use your thumb after this?
Yessir
YEAH-BUDDY!!!!THUMBS-UP!!!!!!
Also you should say something about putting to much line on as well.
I would say anything over 11-12lbs of drag is more than enough for bass
Mark, can I take you fishing? Right here at the house.
Is that a Garmin watch? What’s the model??
Yessir Quatix 6
A salesman at Bass pro shop, says Lews makes those reels🤷.
I could see that 😎
Doyo makes them. Doyo makes reels for Lew's, Abu Garcia, bass pro and others.
Send me one so I can try it out lol left hand
I look forward to meeting you when y’all fish Harris Chain
