"Spies" can also refer to scouts in ancient Hebrew, which refers to the Mando scouts we meet in E7.
Why is he suddenly so loyal? Well they left because she didn't return with the darksaber which basically meant to them that she didn't kept her promise to start retaking Mandalore. Now she delivered and they are on Mandalore, retaking it, the initial reason they probably followed her from the start
I can't take credit for this but something I saw in another thread was the spies can refer to the 12 spies Moses sent to scout the promise land and bo katan had exactly 12 volunteers speak up.
Din is a sir name, Jarin is his actual first name. like Sir Arthur. Grogu has a Sir name now, so its Din Grogu. kinda reflects medieval times in a sense of titles for names.
Yeah. So, I guess the family has been known as, The Dins. It reminds me of how, in Star Wars: Visions' The Ninth Jedi, The Margrave was addressed as, Margrave Juro. So his name is officially, Din Grogu.
It's like Ro Laren in Star Trek.
There are some Asian cultures that use their surnames first in order to identify themselves with a family upon meeting.
In season one, the Armorer said, "'as' his father."
The spies in EP.7 referred to the Mandolorians.. It was a reference from the bible where the 12 Hebrew tribes sent a scout/spy ahead before they reclaimed Israel. This season has been very much Steeped in biblical/religious references..I am certainly not a biblical scholar so I failed to catch slot of them myself.
_The Mando “charge” scene when the Armorer and Bo Katan were swinging and getting hits synched with the main theme was just awesome._
So a few thoughts, first I really believe that this season had a lot of elements that were supposed to be in the "Rangers of the New Republic" show and the writers shoehorned that story into season 3. Really season 3 should have began with what episode 5 of Boba Fett was. This whole season felt like there was too many chefs in the kitchen. Hopefully this ending is a reset, so we can focus on the characters we love Mando and Grogu (Wolf and Cub) on an adventure, plus now that Din is hunting imps for the New Republic it can lead to Thrawn? Also in Japan your family name is first followed by your given name, It' sounds like a nod to samurai culture.
Either The Spies refers to the scouting group, or just the fact that the empire has spies in the republic, like Elia or whatever her name is.
I don't get how the Armorer did anything suspicious at all. I'd like to know how Grogu got to Din as well since he just popped up out of nowhere.
Well there is the Force lol
@@3dbadboy1 The Force isn't valid in this case. There was a door between them that never reopened.
He simply could've just looked for him
I think Grogu could have easily slipped away right before Paz closed the doors and started battling the troopers himself. He could’ve also gone in a different direction while they were leaving the hallway. That didn’t really bother me and it’s not outside of the realm of possibility. He is a forced user so he could easily have allowed the force to guide him to Din.
Grogu is using the Force to find Mando daddy! Also, is Moff Gideon dead or was that just one of his clones?
Mando learned parkour from the one, the only Michael G Scott!
If Rey can repair a lightsaber broken in half then the dark saber can mostly likely be fixed
Okay, so we just ignore the fact that Grogu linked with the Mythosaur? And evidently Melissa missed the reason for Din Jaren leaving, and for why he contacted Teva. He said his trade is bounty hunting, and now Grogu is his apprentice. Mandalore isn't exactly a nice base to operate from.
My honest thoughts: I did enjoy this season. I like it. But I do think that it pales in comparison to season 1 and season 2 of the Mandalorian. It just feels a bit more disjointed and rushed in its writing. I enjoyed the S3 finale, but I don't think it was satisfying. Overall, I'd rate the season at maybe a 6/10 or a 7/10. I guess we can meet in the middle and say 6.5/10
Are you sure Gideon said to stand guard BETWEEN the force fields, sarge?
Always two there are: The Master and the clone. But who was destroyed? The Master...or the clone?
Tune in next time for Season 4 to find out (in 3 years probably if writers strike happens).
Thankfully, Jon has already written season 4 and they start shooting in October.😊
The Armorer literally didn't do anything weird.
Love more Skinny Pete & Warlock
lmaoo skinny pete
The Dark Saber came to be a detriment to Mandalore cuz Mandalorians having to fight each other for that in time it forced them to fight each other for it. Mandalor the Great and The Ultimate didn’t need to dark saber to lead.
Seems like they Game of Thrones'ed it, it felt rushed I feel because Dave Filoni is putting all his creativity into The Ashoka Show.
After watching some of your Mandalorian reactions, it's seems pretty clear to me that you don't really care for Grogu, but maybe I'm wrong.
Maybe that was a clone of Moff Gideon up to now in the series.
Was this the series finale?
I believe that was just one of Gideon's clones who got killed at the end. The real Gideon maybe somewhere else.
That would be so dumb. "Somehow, Gideon returned."
Not to mention how he crushed the Dark Saber with one hand.
definitely
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast Yep, remember the real Gideon has moustache, and this one just like the other clones are clean shaven.
Ok, so you know that was never James Earl Jones in the Darth Vader suit either, right? (& if you're a fan of the director, at least take a moment to learn how to say his name) Professionals do that.
They are clone troopers not dark troopers they can’t fight like Mandalorians. Mandalorians are basically the Seal Team 6 of the Star Wars universe hand down they are the best warriors/fighters to ever exist in Star Wars they didn’t stand a chance against in hand to hand combat.
Too many "what?" this season. It felt rushed and unnecessary and unexplained scenes and the title "The Spies"? More like the spy - Elia Kane. At least that kept us guessing. I think everyone is asking the same question, how did Grogu get to Din so fast? And knowing how dangerous a Mandalorian is I would've had a full unit of troops escorting him. A lot of scenes this season we had to make assumptions to how they happened. The Praetorian Guard is just a well-trained elite soldier. if Paz Vizsla hadn't exhausted his weapons he could've done more damage. As far for another season Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni stated Filoni wants to make a movie that ties all the shows together. I already miss the show - but Visions looks hot, so I hope that makes the wait for Ashoka easier.
How do ppl see "spies" but keep talking about a singular spy
Sooo the peril of him being captured is an inconsequential 2min Grogu teleport to via a route that was not protected and not the way that Paz Vizsla died. The pay off to the why they were after Grogu from the beginning was just a side handed i wanted me with the force??? The dark sabre is made from your lowest quality plastic. Also the naming convention for Mandalorians was already established Bo-Katan Kryze not Kryze Bo-Katan. This is a rotten season with little to no idea of how they wanted to start finish or middle any of it.
I think you summed it up well. Great direction, cinematic feel and scope, rushed writing. It feels like someone gave two 7 year old kids a lot of money to write a script based on how they play with their Star Wars toys. Which is both a blessing and a curse it seems
Some great scenes but overall felt strangely unsatisfying. The last episodes of Season 3 felt rushed yet they wasted time on Episodes that contributed little or nothing to the overall arc (Yes looking at you Episode 6).
Well said! Totally agree that it was strangely unsatisfying
This season was a total mess. I feel like Favreau acknowledged this by essentially resetting the show in the final scenes with Mando and Grogu off on their own. I’d much rather watch the two of them off on their own adventures exploring the SW universe than dragged down by the boring bucket heads of Mandalore.
YES HE IS DEAD
Great action, but nothing else. Dissappointing ending. Weird episode. Bo finally has the Dark Saber (on a technicality), and it gets destroyed? Huh? Gideon dead, maybe? Should have had a for sure death scene with either Bo or Jarin killing him or even Sir Din Grogu, not as collateral damage. Now, he may pop up again and again. Clones in tanks for how long and just end up dead? IG11 has nine lives. Independent contractor for the Republic? Mythosaur Force sensitive?
Well that was fucking terrible.
the ship crashing CGI was phenomenal. The rest left a lot to be desired. Terrible finale. Absolutely terrible.
You ppl see amazing visuals & direction and say its terrible. You lot complain about everything
Awwhh, look at lil Nona Jr... Gonna cry? 😂
@@JADTO I only complain when it's warranted.
