2.9٪ retinol is so low. RetinOID is the highest level of all the others. People probably used tretinoin (Vitamin A) you can't put that near your eyes. When you blink, look down or up is moving your skin around the eye which makes the tretinoin travel up to your lashes and/or into your eyes. I can tell when I get sunscreen to close to my eyes. It traveled up into my eyes. They stung really bad. If you think I don't know what I'm talking about. Try this out. Look in the mirror and move your eyes around. You can put a thick layer of eye cream, not up to your lashes about 5 cm below. Move your eyes all around. Every angle you can look over and over for up to two minutes. That time will act like a half day of moving your eyes around. Also eye cream needs to go up to your crows feet. Even if you don't have them yet put eye cream on them. Get ahead now before they start. You need vitamin c and ferilic Dr. Perricone has an eye cream with it, expensive though. Vitamin c, sodium hyaluronic acid or just hyaluronic acid. (Sodium one is better). Peptides are definite maybe vitamin E have that in them. You can also put tea bags on your for caffeine to help puffiness to. If you have time to relax do it. Put it warm water to activate caffeine. Some other eye creams or serum. Ordinary, inky list, Paula's Choice, Peter Thomas Roth or dermilogica. Maybe elf. Try hydrating line. If you have puffiness, put spoons in the fridge or freezer and it will bring the puffiness down after 5 to 10 minutes. Please use sunscreen all over you face and neck, front and back. Rock is a good eye cream to. The under eye skin is sooo thin. That is why you have to treat them very delicate. I hope I helped you a bit. Good luck❗
@@victoriapreston5419 WOW! Thank you so much for this! 😭 Very helpful, so my 1% retinol serum is very safe for my undereye, I can use it without worry now 😭 again thanks for this info, just realized I never really pay attention to "retinol" "retinoid" keywords on those articles/threads/post.
I think a lot of advice on this usually comes from a prescribed retinol vs OTC general brands. Prescribed is usually stronger and your eye area is very sensitive. But most general brands should be okay, especially if formatted for that. But always patch test first :)
For that budget, you can get all the listed items above, which is basically the bare minimum. But if you really just want to start with one, I suggest this order: sunscreen, cleanser, moisturizer, whatever you need (retinol, etc). Nowadays, things are a lot easier so you can actually get sunscreen with ceramides or cleanser with SA or moisturizer with SA, meaning you won't need the fourth item if you already have it in the basic three.
@@luciacastillo1420 glad you asked. They are a lot better, not gone completely but way better. then yours is purely genetics. I'm assuming you are lightskin. Lightskin is more transluscent and thin (unless you're korean, for example) and it just shows veins more because of contrast too. Or in a terrible case could be malnutrition. Nothing you can do about it with skincare.
Couldnt take her serious. Retinol under the eye is by far the worst what you can do. It makes the skin even thinner and likely more dark. In addition it can lead to serious dry eyes.
You’re wrong. Retinol is the only ingredient that is clinically proven to increase skin thickness. Scientists don’t just say anything without proof. Don’t just say anything that you’re not sure about. Do your research
@@smouden5075 under eye skin is just that: skin!! If we need retinol because it increases skin thickness in face and body, then we need it double as much under the eyes to avoid further thinning of the skin. You think under eye skin is not skin? And do your research, I’m not trying to convince anybody here, the clinical studies are published and available for public to read and be informed. I’m not google or private researcher for you. Do the job on your own. Under eye skin is still skin and retinol thinning skin is a myth. Ask any derm you know and any scientist there is. Retinol is shown to increase skin thickness. It does not thin skin out. Study harder. There is no study out there that shows that retinol thins our skin. Okay? Do your homework

I'm 19 i can't use retinol
I do all of this and I still have so dark under eyes 😢
genetics
How the heck do u still look good with dark circles? Damn. I look like a racoon zombie. 😭
You use tinted sunscreen on eyelid as well ?
Yes! ❤

Thank you for replying
hii! I’m a poor college student and while I always wanted to get into skincare I never had the money. I have set aside $40 what should I get?
Sunscreen, retinol and a basic moisturiser n face wash
For that budget, you can get all the listed items above, which is basically the bare minimum. But if you really just want to start with one, I suggest this order: sunscreen, cleanser, moisturizer, whatever you need (retinol, etc). Nowadays, things are a lot easier so you can actually get sunscreen with ceramides or cleanser with SA or moisturizer with SA, meaning you won't need the fourth item if you already have it in the basic three.
@@samelis6546 thanks so much this was super helpful
Breaking news: could be lack of iron
If i have to squint and struggle to find your bags then no sorry you didn’t have em bad😅 but hey keep influencing like it ain’t genetics girl
I use tretinoin mine are from veins showing through due to thin skin 🤦♀️
Mine are for the same reason. Do you mind if I ask if you have seen results with tretinoin?
@@luciacastillo1420 glad you asked. They are a lot better, not gone completely but way better. I have been using tretinoin for years so I have not sensitivity to it, so be careful if you don’t already use it.
Having said that I have incorporated other stuff that I really think is helping. The Ordinary caffeine serum morning and night and Herbal Dynamics Vit K eye contour cream morning and night.
Give it time! Nothing happens over night. Took about three months for mine to look a little better. Hope this helps you. I know the struggle. I stopped using concealer now and only have to apply a little Sigma Duo corrector over the very light discoloration and top it with a tiny amount of Charlotte Tilbury flawless powder
i bought the roc one and did nothingg
…………I thought you weren’t supposed to use retinol around the eyes? When I accidentally do, my dark circles get SO much worse and my under eyes look red and burn and inflamed.
hiii, can you use inkey list vit c under eyes?
All these products make my dark circles worse
SMH. You’re NOT supposed to use sunscreen on your eyes if it directs you not to 🙅♀️ Instead search for a sunscreen that’s meant for the eye area
This was an issue in your early 20s?! I have these issues at the age of 12 😭
then yours is purely genetics. I'm assuming you are lightskin. Lightskin is more transluscent and thin (unless you're korean, for example) and it just shows veins more because of contrast too. Or in a terrible case could be malnutrition.
Nothing you can do about it with skincare.
@@mile_851 yeah thank you for the explanation
can breastfeeding mother's use retinol
a doctor would be better qualified to answer question like that since it can have consequence on your baby
Maybe try using Bakuchiol or Rosehip Oil instead?
No
Yes bakuchiol
No you shouldn’t
Couldnt take her serious. Retinol under the eye is by far the worst what you can do. It makes the skin even thinner and likely more dark. In addition it can lead to serious dry eyes.
You’re wrong. Retinol is the only ingredient that is clinically proven to increase skin thickness. Scientists don’t just say anything without proof. Don’t just say anything that you’re not sure about. Do your research
@@angieangelopoulou1196 not under your eyes, all the research focusses on face skin outside eye and mouth areas
Please share some pubmed links with papers on retinoids under the eye
What eyecolor you have? Plz tell😩
It mostly comes from computer/phone screen usage.
