I've been vegan for 10 years, and at the end of the day I agree we gotta do what's best for us. your body will let you know what's good for you. for me, its veganism. for others it might be different! there's also so many factors other than health that come into play, like income, where you live, culture! i think the best goal we can have is to be as sustainable as we can. thanks for sharing your journey ❤
"i have been so harsh on myself for existing and i don't wish to do that anymore" - this!!!!!! so well articulated and helps with where i am too at the moment to try and be open and existing wholly in this world where restrictions have become a burden/unhelpful for me and everyone around me. thanks jenny 💜
So appreciate the openness about changes on diet. I can relate and I know so many others can & will too. I was plant based (moving back and forth between vegan & vegetarian a couple times) for 17 years and had to get honest with myself about how healthy I really was & how my body, hormones and energy levels were. I finally reintroduced organic red meat back in to my diet just over a year ago and oh my goodness, I am so much healthier and feel amazing. Have even had blood tests that prove it. So proud of you for honouring yourself and your body and making changes. It doesn’t mean you love animals any less. Don’t let negative comments get to you ❤
hey, I've been vegetarian for almost 10 years and not that I want to rn but idk one day I might start eating meat again. did you experience anything bad when you started eating meat again, like did you get sick? I'm so scared of that happening if I ever want to eat meat again
@@helenfordyce414 My mother was one for a similar amount of time and then re-introduced meat into her diet. Big changes like that can def have side effects at first, but personally she started very slow with just one type of meat at a time and didn't have any problems at all. Best of luck whatever you do!
I never usually comment but thank you so much for the openess about...honestly everything. This series has been a breath of fresh air in a time where the internet feels like such a loaded and heavy place to be in
I will say I suffered from fainting spells for many years. As well as just being constantly weak throughout certain parts of the year where I couldn't function at all/ work/ stand up. A huge game changer over the past couple of years - has been introducing meat back into my diet. It's been really helpful I cant lie. Also Jenny this video series is one of my favs you've ever done. They are so calming and beautiful to watch! Thank you darling
@@liss5736for me it helped a lot! I became pescatarian and added fish to my diet about 3+ times a week and that has made me the happiest and healthiest i have ever been. I didn’t even like seafood but i soon started to tolerate it and I felt great after eating it. I am not sure what will work for you but try different things and listening to your body
Me too! I gave myself really bad chronic stomach issues but I kept ignoring my body's needs for YEARS since being vegan was almost like a religion to me, or at least a marker for my personal morals and identity. I wish it worked out but at the end of the day I feel so so much better now that I am eating meat again. Since then I have realised that life is not black or white and that there IS a way to be mindful about consuming animal products, the mass meat production/ fishing industry is the issue here and not the practice of eating animals/ animal products.
Im vegetarian and I feel the same... been vegetarian for over 10 years and feel extremely tired/low energy, I think before going back to eating meat I will go to a doctor and make sure to have all types of blood tests done because most of the time it can be reversed, should be low vitamins or something, which actually most people suffer from, not only vegetarians. But yeah its interesting to learn other vegetarians also suffer from tiredness.
Girl, I was vegan for years, but also suffer from some pretty crappy autoimmune disease. Since I added meat back into my diet I feel so much better. Thanks for being transparent, but also know that you don’t owe any explanation for the choices that are best for your body❤you look healthy and strong
I’ve been vegan/ vegetarian & pescatarian throughout different phases of my life, it’s what works for you and only you and your body will know best. external pressures only cause more stress in the body and mind so I think it’s important we be mindful when commenting on other people’s bodies or diets 🤍🤍🤍 loving these vids sm x
thanks for opening up! I try to be vegetarian most of the time, but I have IBS and actually have issues digesting certain vegetables, beans and soy products (of which most of the vegan "meat replacement" products are made of) and it's just too difficult to maintain my health if I'm too restrictive. Wish I could, but I feel like in moderation it's fine for me now.
I had been vegetarian/mostly vegan since I was 11 years old! I've recently started incorporating chicken back into my diet and like you, it's just what my body needs at this point in my life. You're doing great!
Thank you for your openness and for sharing your life with us Jenny. I think this entire series has been really incredible and has left me really amped up to be more intentional with my life as well.
Long time listener, first time caller :) I would love to hear you speak about any book recommendations / resources around the health & wellness topics you've been touching on lately. Thank you for your openness and beautiful perspective as always.
Came here for the food inspo years ago. Stayed for the vibes ❤ you do you mama! Thrive! I too have circled back to incorporating meat into my diet for hormonal health.
i really relate to your health journey as i have the same chronic illness. did wanna pop in to lyk that it may be worth looking into wearing a respirator more often - not getting sick as much by doing this has helped with pots a lot ! wishing u less flare ups

i followed you years ago for vegan recipes and im still vegan and loveeee it and have been vegan/ vego my whole life but i love your other content too! ive noticed that veganism is soo not trendy atm but hey c'est la vie! x
So glad you're listening to your body. So important especially as you get older. As someone who is now in menopause, hormones are crazy hard to understand but crucial in feeling you're best.
I also quit being a vegetarian 3 years ago. Switched to completely organic, bio-dynamic, grassfed & pasture raised. In moderation of course. It’s done amazing things for me and my health!
thank you for sharing your journey with your diet. I had to quit veganism due to health issues too. still mostly vegetarian, but sometimes i have seafood. for me, the most difficult thing has been trying to not feel guilty about it. i’m so connected to the ethical side of veganism. do you have any tips for how to not feel like that?
Copy that, I’ve been vegetarian for 7 years, but in the last 2 my health has been declining. Sometimes I think that adding some animal products in mu diet would be beneficial, but I feel terrible about it, so guilty .
@@Cecilia-m12 same, for me eggs and some dairy products have really helped my gut, but after being vegan for so long it just feels awful. maybe if I had my own chicken that I took good care of it would be better. But then also I think it’s so important to look after your health also. Not all bodies can sustain an exclusively veggie diet
Hi Jenny, been reintregrating meat and fish in my diet because of pcos, and I agree that there is huge changes in my energy level and overall health so yeah, props to youfor saying it on the internet which is hard to do at the moment
I think you can still be mindful and conscientious by choosing free range meats and buying from companies that have ethics around how they treat their animals.
Jenny hi! I’ve been watching you for I don’t know how many years now❤️ I also started eating meat (for now, just poultry) a year ago, I was also pescatarian for 2 years and vegan for 5 prior. I find that for me veganism was this forceful and rigid thing that I decided to do for the benefit of something that is beyond my control. And if something comes from this type of limiting perspective, it couldn’t do any more good for me. The truth is that we need a systemic action and no amount of individual choices can fix that. For too long we have been guilt tripped to mind our individual impact just to postpone actual radical action on the capitalists
I don’t think veganism is wrong by any means, but I feel it was promoted to us at such a young age before we really understood our bodies and was damaging to so many of us. I tried to fit into the label and didn’t really note how it felt in my body. Eating meat again/upping my protein completely changed my life in my twenties tbh
been loving this series and all of your thoughts and openness along the way, very refreshing and makes me feel less alone. thank you. anyways... for anyone looking for a great investment boot check out labucq's joan knee high, i have larger calves and these fit perfectly and are comfortable to wear all day long. it seems they've raised the price since I purchased but they do sales every now and then, i was able to catch them at 20% off. i had been searching for years for the perfect square toe, low heel knee high and after drooling over these for a year pulled the trigger. the quality is impeccable, these are very much luxury boots that will last a lifetime.
It takes years to repair the damage caused by being vegan. I respect everyone’s views and opinions on this topic. But ultimately we came from hunting and eating meat from the beginning of time. Good for you♥️
I'm so happy for you! If you haven't already, checkout.Steak and Butter Gal. She was a vegan for 6 years, carnivorne now for 5. Her story of her health, hormone balance and mental health is very motivating.

I’m deeply disappointed to hear that you have started to eat meat again. Of course you have to listen to your body and your needs and I fully respect that. Just sad to see someone I really align with make this type of decision as I feel your output on life resonates with mine (and always have a good understanding of our world) and caring for other lives is a part of that. I hope you don’t start advertising a meat diet on your channel as you have been one of my favourite creators for the past years and would hate to have to stop watching.
Chronic health conditions cause you to have to be adaptable and in soooo overly in tune with your body. I was vegan for years, switched to vegetarian, then pescatarian, and now I’m eating pretty much everything except red meat. It’s a challenge and it’s hard to not feel like you’re failing or letting people down especially when you’re a public figure, but in reality this is what’s most sustainable for you and your health at this current moment! My morals and values haven’t changed, but I have to listen to my body and give it what it needs in order to still be a voice and an advocate for the things I hold close to my heart. I hope that made sense lol. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experience as a lot of people probably need to hear it in order to take care of themselves without guilt or shame. 🤍
