I wish Hasbro/Kenner would make more multipacks. 13.99 for one battle droid is a bit much

That's the exact first impression I had as SOON as I saw him in bubble! Totally looks like a carbonized version. Makes him look more plasticky if anything (as opposed to metallic! 😆)
I already have four of the originals so i passed on this, since there are no improvements. I would like to see a new sculpt with swivels in the forearms, antennae that can slide into the backpack and a way to store the gun on the backpack like it did in the movie.

It's a nice repack because you can army build it. The best B1 Battle Droid is the one from the Star Wars 3.75 Inch Commemorative Blu-Ray Edition because they used the Geonosis Battle Droid Mold. I have 2 of those and I want more but they are hard to get. I still like is Battle Droid.
For army building, I recommend the original TPM line of Battle Droids, they have similar articulation as the VC releases, but their paint apps have variety in terms of weathering and battle damage, plus are more affordable on the secondary markets. Plus, you can fold their neck, and limbs into the crouch for display with the Legacy MTT. Still waiting for the VC OOM-9 (though TPM release still holds up) and VC Viceroy Gunray and Rune Haako (hopefully with softgoods similar to Daultay Dofine)
Definitely need new Nute Gunray and Rune Haako updated! I would have never guessed we’d get super articulated Daultay before the others. And shoot man, get you a small brush and paint a battle droid with the OOM-9 colors. I did that to make security, pilots and commanders. Although that card back would look clean!
I was just comparing this one to my 99 version.
The old one is far better I dont know why they changed it they would have saved money just using the old model. The back packs on these do not even hold their blaster.
Hey, Tim. Just got this one from Hasbro Pulse. I've never been a big fan of Battle Droids, but I bought this rerelease (and the original one) to show my support for the Separatist soldiers. If these sell well, then maybe Hasbro will also rerelease the AOTC Super Battle Droid, which I never purchased the first time around (and which is really expensive on the secondary market). Thanks for the video.

Speaking of battle droids, we need another MTT! Thought of picking it up , but not really worth 13 bucks when I got about 30 from tpm line
That's just it! $14 USD when taxed. Back in 1999 they were $5.99 or $6.37 USD taxed. In 2008 a double pack Legacy Collection was $7.49 or $8.27 USD. They want +$5 USD+ more since Disney needs the money during Corona.
I actually found this guy, however of course I found it while on a vacation, still got him though. It is really hard to find TVC in the USA at least for me.
I know it happened to me in 2020 as there were terrible selections for Star Wars due to COVID-19

I liked it and once I seen it I knew they gave it that silver touch to give the impression of scratched battle droid paint. Maybe a little to much over the basic droid paint but I like it it brings it life a little. I love it and love it on my wall 🤟🏼 cheers !
I was able to find the tvc reissue battle droid at Walmart at the clearance selection and I found 4 and they were $10 dollars each
That was very helpful, thank you! I agree with you, I do prefer the original much more. Just a thought, but he might be a good candidate for being ordered in a blank box... sort of like what they’re presently doing for marvel with the hellfire guard and AIM guard. Might help motivate people to army build him a little more.

Nice video!! This was a good one to bring forward again it’s a collectors and fans come by up and build little squads of them. However I think they missed the opportunity to make variations like back in the original 1999 release. A dirty version, slashed version, blasted version. Clean version. The people who want them all clean would go nuts if that were the case though lol
Just got my 2 geonosis tvc battle droids today mate! I hope we would have a pulse 4 pack of R2-D2’s battle droid squadron lol.
Battle Droids are my absolute favorite...👍🏼 But I prefer the older figure as opposed to this reissued one...👌🏼💯✔
Nice review I wish they would do more vehicles in vintage.
Again one that I have never had before, so I do need a couple. Because I never had him the paint doesn't bother me, but he does look almost like that carbonised effect they like to bring out.

Always welcome Army Builders in any scale. I know it may be a pass for the on card collectors and understandable. However I plan to have Clone Wars Obi-Wan and Anakin off card and displayed with a few of these in the Tantive IV corridor. Would like to see ankle pivot added to future releases, a minor detail that helps with display immensely. Happy to see the line continue either way. Thanks Bossk for the review.

How have they still not made a battle droid which can hold the blaster in 2 hands?
I want to know what is going to happen to the Cara Dune Retro Collection figure. Will they put it in a plastic bag and include it with the Monopoly game? They could then release the Stormtrooper as a regular release so we can army build. How can you be a true Star Wars fan and not want an army of Stormtroopers?

Tunghori has these cheap. I ordered a few, and many other figures from them. If anyone was considering them I'd definitely recommend them.
I sold off all my droids, they are cool but for me the figures are too flimsy and thats not a hasbro complaint its just flimsy because of how thin the limbs are and honestly i see this figure as more of a prop or a add on figure. For me to make it worth my money ide want either a double pack for same price or a hell of alot more accesories but thats just me dreaming some what :)

I don’t have the original but seeing it side by side I prefer the original, the repack looks really cheap, this wave has so far been a big letdown to think what they could have given us and we get this!

So proud this video proves the original TVC battle droid is superior- especially since I passed these variants up at retail. The original TVC is the most superior rendition we’ve gotten in 20 years. However, still too short and the left wrist is not twisted for full grasp of the blaster.
Great review as ever BB. ThIs is an easy pass for me. That looks like it was 3D printed. I guess the appeal of these is that they were such formidable fighters in the prequels. One of them could take out a whole squadron of those puny Dark Troopers 😊
I prefer TPM battle droids, because they are taller (like they're supposed to be) and I fele sturdier. The VC battle Droid I feel lacks articulation (can't hold weapon with two hands unlike every other VC figure) and the attachments (pack and antenna) fall off too easily.

im with you on this one.. the original is better... the weathering and silver parts make it more realistic.
I have to say I am not too impressed wirh the paint app on the repack version. In all honesty I personally think the paint apps on the original 5 POA battle droids are better then both VC versions.

I love this battle droid. And I like how the plastic doesn’t make you worry about breaking like I worry with black series. What do you usually do with the extra antenna? I just leave it in the droid’s other hand

Great review! I like the added antenna options but to me the figure is way too small!!! Compared to the Phantom Menace and Clone Wars droids he is much smaller! Very frail! To be honest I was very disappointed in this one. To me the blue one from the Target Exclusive with STAP is the superior battle droid mold!👍

I think I actually prefer the original one. The new one looks like it's been carbonized. I'm not knocking the figure at all, it's a nice likeness, but the shininess is a little odd.

How do you get unpunched figures
That one was from 2012. Figures used to come unpunched

Why do you refer to this reissue as being from wave 17 on your website and Star Action Figures refers to it as wave 31?
Because SAF are counting from all the back in 2010 where as I started again from 2018. Some people start again each year. Yakface for example has them as Wave 1 2021

Wow, the original is so much better. Just look at the black eyes, which are just two lines. Horrible on the new one, great detail on original. And as others point out, it looks like the carbonized crap they put out. Just bad. Too bad. No need to buy more than one of these. Not gonna army build this one. Thanks for the review. 🤷🏻♂️

Wow BB what a terrible repack so rubberery and cheap looking definitely not an improvement imo its like they have just given it the carbonised treatment
This figure is really weak... I as quite disappointed. And I mean, call me ungrateful, but I think this whole wave of repacks was just awful.
