I’m forever burned with cardboard from those solo playsets. I have never regretted a Star Wars purchase as much as I did when bought that Vandor set. I never felt so ripped off with a Star Wars purchase. I put it together once with my kids, we sort of scratched our heads, put it away and never looked at it again. I do not think cardboard is appropriate at this stage of the game.
@@benjamindobalina7493 , agreed. I'm examining the possibility of making my own Mo's Eisley cantina. I have the floor plan, just need tools and material...
This is an awesome diorama set, the cardboard pieces even feel very Kenner to me, however I feel the $53 price is a bit steep considering its size and the amount of cardboard going into it….
I agree with the others about the cardboard parts. They were being cheap to not have plastic for window and door. If it all was cardboard like the Power of the force Jabba’s palace or the cantina that would be fine.
That is exactly what I think these playsets are going for. They are essentially backdrops for dioramas with the figures. I like this one a lot, much more than the Carbon Freeze platform. I am kind of jealous that you have one already and my pre-order is not slated to arrive until April though!
As someone who’s watching this video from the Philippines I totally envy you for getting that set not to mention even getting a Death Trooper which along with Stormtroopers and Shoretroopers are very scarce in my country their either sold out or too expensive to afford at my current location.
I love that they’re going forward with these backdrops. The thing is, if this was £30, great! At £55, not so much. I’ll actually be passing on this one & I’m mad on dioramas.
Great review Tim 👍🏻…..I have to say that after the Tantive IV, Carbon Freezing chamber and the Jabbas palace sets (which were reasonably good) this is a tad underwhelming to say the least 😫🤷🏼♂️….the Deathtrooper card is nice though…..👍🏻
A really good set which will make a good backdrop for a Mandalorian scene. The detail for all the wee bottles & decanters is fantastic. The cardboard door lets it down a tad. They could of done a sliding door like the Tantive IV for that section. Perfect little set for a shelf display.
I love all the drink accessories, that's so cool. This really makes me want a Mos Eisely cantina, and if the did this same format it would work perfectly, just add some booths and increase the price accordingly due to the increase use of plastic for the booths
Ive had this a good while and finally got around to opening it and wow this is so much better in hand. Wow. I love it. It looks great and the death trooper is the icing on the cake.
I have mixed feelings. The positive is the bunch of small bar accessories. The negatives are the non-usable back side and the cardboard door which is a step back after the Tantive IV corridor's plastic door with opening mechanism.
Cardboard window I'm fine with, especially with the flip feature from clean to damaged, but the door should 100% be plastic. The is a bit of a let down. Someone could probably 3D print a door and it would work.
I don't mind the cardboard window, but I much would've preferred a door closer to the one from the Tantive IV set that can freely slide versus only being opened or closed.
Nice review Tim! The cardboard door is a little odd, but like you said, it's more of a diorama piece than a playset so I'm ok with is. Will look good with the Deluxe Incinerator Trooper and some other Mando figures we need in the line!
I'm a bit gutted the outside isn't moulded and detailed, it's a shame there isn't a real door instead of a static card one. I suppose I'll have to modify mine for the diorama I had planned.
Just got this yesterday (Friday 3rd) The "Entertainer" had it last week for £65.99!!! Went in yesterday and it was down to £32.99......i got it quickly before they sold out. It's great to display my Mandalorian figure collection. Great video and review as always. Keep up the great work 👍
Woah! Great early pick-up! 👏 Think this looks fantastic. I like the simple engineering they did on flipping the battle damaged and non-battle damaged window. As you say, a great way to display the Mandalorian figures, as well as other figures from a number of different films.
Just got word that one of my pre-ordered Nevarro Playsets is going to ship any day now. I can't wait, and I'm excited to see what other playsets may be in the works? Imperial hallway maybe or perhaps more of Jabba's Palace? Great video Tim. Cheers Mate!
Thanks for the vid Tim , its a nice playset , but one critisism i have is the door , they should have used the same mechanism they used for the tantive 4 playset . Cheers 👌🏻👍🏻😉
The one disappointment with this, in my opinion, is that the door is just printed cardboard - I would definitely have preferred a plastic door with molded-in detail (which they may have been able to re-use with another set in the future perhaps, for practical reasons).
Great review! I love that the hanging lamp in the center is reminiscent of the Mos Eisley cantina bar lamp that would later be repurposed to become IG-88’s head.
Jabba's playset was all plastic and included 2 figures. Carbon Freezing Chamber playset was all plastic and included 1 figure. Now the Nevarro Cantina playset is part cardboard and includes 1 figure. Going in the wrong direction...
Very nice, really looking forward to this one. Hopefully it's more readily available than the Tantive IV play set which still hasn't hit stores in my area. I am disappointed with the door, it should slide open or closed like on the Tantive IV set. Great review Tim!
I got the Emperor's Throne Room and Boba Fett's Slave 1 for Christmas. Slave 1 came from Hasbro and couldn't believe they had them in stock and selling them after the Disney name change! Can't wait to get this!
Excellent pick up mate, it looks really great, glad that I have pre ordered 2 of these as I think it just need the second wall. Great review Tim. Cheers🍻👍🏻
Nice review tim! I remember death trooper wasn’t in my priority mate! Cuz I thought the vests aren’t removable lol. And yep I bought 2 carbonized mandalorian death troopers on sale 1 mint and 1 loose.
Smaller than expected but think it works very well once you got it populated Tim, the incinerator trooper looks great by the door, I’d definitely be tempted by this 👍thanks for sharing mate 👍
Great video! Thank you! I'd love to get this, but I can't afford it, at the moment. The cardboard bits are a bit underwhelming for my taste, though; I was hoping for a sliding door and a clear window in the undamaged display option. I'm hoping it gets clearanced, at some point.
I like the eco-friendly packing! The death trooper looks stunning, nice to have that one. Would be a bummer if that one was damaged. Got my shock scout trooper from Zavvi, card was warped but storage it in a star case should do the job 😉😊
In The Mandalorian season 1 when the Death Troopers featured, there was at least one Death Trooper that does have the extra light attachment to the helmet.
Is that a Bossk with a SK8BOARD...... At least that's what it looked like (the Bossk , lower right at the beginning of the video etc.)........ 👍🛹 Nice finishing touch & or , That's spot on with the 'Cara Dune' to properly top it off!!!
Great Review! I was right in assuming the back of the walls are not finished. I will have to create wall backs with plastic sheeting or foam board. It's a bugger to buy things that cause you a lot of work. LOL! Also, to me, the walls are the wrong color. Nevarro is a volcanic planet. Ash grey, black, dark grey, etc. The walls should be a darker grey with lighter grey dry brushing. It's difficult to tell as there is not a lot of reference images on line. Will work something out with it. James 😁
Good review, but tbh, this set doesn't do much for me. Needed a wall with the sewer grate IG-11 cuts open, and the section Din rests against while injured.
There was perhaps a time where something this niche in world building would have excited me. But then again, I think of the Tantive IV and Bespin sets and I’m not really moved by those either. :/
in the first star wars movie, a bat creature gets a cup from the bartender, does it have a handle on the side like a mug? if the cups are big like oversized so we can see them and have handles on the side like mugs, then the figures can hold the handle in their gun grip hand and they can hold cups in a cantina playset
A decent centerpiece, better than the carbon freeze chamber, but it seems to really require a second set to create a more realistic wrap around look. In that regard the Jabba's palace set was superior. Unfortunate about no working door, which would have been a nice addition but it clearly saved them a lot of money to go with cardboard. Personally, if I had the set I'd use the pre-shoot out window and I'd probably populate it with aliens and the like ala the cantina.
Do not mind the cardboard window, but i was hoping the exterior would be decent, door not functioning is the most disappointing. I will get one, but if they had gone the extra mile i would get multiple.
should they have included a blank wall to stand opposite the window wall? so if you bought two, you could have four walls and the other half? of that archway?
how do doors open in Star Wars? like in Star Trek? or do they go up or open out like a swinging door? or to the side, so if someone wanted to make a stop motion action figure video, they would have to move the cardboard door picture which way to make it look like it was working?
Kinda disappointed with the cardboard door and window. But does look great really great we have some decent asscesories for the bar!! Would have been handy if they included extra pieces to make it sit higher so we can see Moff Gideon and the rest of the troopers outside the window. Thats the only thing that is a bummer. But I'm sure we will come up with a solution, but we shouldn't have too. Should be ready to go, straight outta the box. Was also disappointed with the bar in the box looked like it was moving around in the box and hitting the carded figure! All in all does look great all that's missing is having a couple of spatchka drinks for us!! LOL 😉
I had to google this Vandor set and I lol'd
It’s july EA!
That is a pretty nice display piece.
I love the Power of the Force Jabba's Palace and Cantina 3D cardboard foldable playsets.
I mean, the little bottles and stuff are really nice. They will be great for world building / photographers!
Im on the fence Tim on this one still scratching my head. As to why we didn't get a real door like the tantive IV. Great video as always BB 🍻!!!
I am 100% with you on this...
Because it's time to boycott Hasbro. People, it's not that hard to make your own playsets.
@@benjamindobalina7493 , agreed. I'm examining the possibility of making my own Mo's Eisley cantina. I have the floor plan, just need tools and material...
That’s exactly what I was thinking. There’s no way a plastic door would’ve broken the bank.
Great review Bossk, and glad I could help get you a set!
This is an awesome diorama set, the cardboard pieces even feel very Kenner to me, however I feel the $53 price is a bit steep considering its size and the amount of cardboard going into it….
Waiting to see a Review of 4 Nevarro Cantina put together !!!
I agree with the others about the cardboard parts. They were being cheap to not have plastic for window and door.
If it all was cardboard like the Power of the force Jabba’s palace or the cantina that would be fine.
Still better looking than some of the Kenner 1970's SW playsets. Most of those were crap.
Hello Big Bossk! Great set can’t wait for the preorders to go out!
That is exactly what I think these playsets are going for. They are essentially backdrops for dioramas with the figures. I like this one a lot, much more than the Carbon Freeze platform. I am kind of jealous that you have one already and my pre-order is not slated to arrive until April though!
Looking forward to this 👍🏼 the shelf's all ready, just need to pop this in middle!
Shame about VC188 opportunity 🙄😏
As someone who’s watching this video from the Philippines I totally envy you for getting that set not to mention even getting a Death Trooper which along with Stormtroopers and Shoretroopers are very scarce in my country their either sold out or too expensive to afford at my current location.
Now we need a Mos Eisley cantina playset.
I love that they’re going forward with these backdrops. The thing is, if this was £30, great! At £55, not so much. I’ll actually be passing on this one & I’m mad on dioramas.

I have to agree with you
I think the fact it doesn’t say playset on the box is telling. It’s literally just a back drop really.
A really good set which will make a good backdrop for a Mandalorian scene. The detail for all the wee bottles & decanters is fantastic. The cardboard door lets it down a tad. They could of done a sliding door like the Tantive IV for that section. Perfect little set for a shelf display.
On it already with the review, Nice one my friend!

Hi Bossks Bounty
Great Rewiev as always!😄😄😄😄
Keep up the good work
I love the review, great video, awesome playset, sadly I don't have any room for it
Ive had this a good while and finally got around to opening it and wow this is so much better in hand. Wow. I love it. It looks great and the death trooper is the icing on the cake.

Oh yes Bossk! I cannot wait for your review on this one! Happy Day!
Nice review Tim! The cardboard door is a little odd, but like you said, it's more of a diorama piece than a playset so I'm ok with is. Will look good with the Deluxe Incinerator Trooper and some other Mando figures we need in the line!
Great video. Luv the door. I wish we could just buy that...in 6" scale. The packaging is wonderful.
Yasssss ✨✨✨✨ the droids are absolutely wonderful there are so many shapes and colors in the star wars world 🌎
Awesome early review Tim 👌👍
Lovely little set, nice accessories and I'm sure we will be seeing some great photos up on Instagram. Super Death Trooper too 🤟
Great review Tim, glad the cardboard they used is thicker than the cardbacks we have been getting recently.
Great review. Reminds me of Jabba’s Palace.
I'm a bit gutted the outside isn't moulded and detailed, it's a shame there isn't a real door instead of a static card one. I suppose I'll have to modify mine for the diorama I had planned.

Nice review. I had not been interested in this set, but after seeing it in more detail in your review, I think I'm going to have to get it!
Playset looks great Tim. TVC really is on fire at the moment. We definitely need more sets like this in the future !
Thanks for the vid Tim , its a nice playset , but one critisism i have is the door , they should have used the same mechanism they used for the tantive 4 playset . Cheers 👌🏻👍🏻😉
It looks okay. I feel customizers would make way better versions of this.
The one disappointment with this, in my opinion, is that the door is just printed cardboard - I would definitely have preferred a plastic door with molded-in detail (which they may have been able to re-use with another set in the future perhaps, for practical reasons).

The bar / drinks/ cups have me really excited :) cant wait for april

Great review!! Love the accessories!! Really adds to the world building in my opinion! Can’t wait for mine to arrive!
I picked this up last week on reduce from the entertainer, great set. glad I'm able to see it all set up cause mine is staying sealed. XD
Nice pick up...I might use it for the Chalmuns Cantina, since that's not release
Awesome work as always!!
Having seen this review, I have to say it's a fantastic diorama/backdrop. It will definitely look cool on a shelf, full of Mandalorian figures.

Love it. But it should have came with Season one Greef fugure
I wish both sides of the wall were finished. There's a whole scene outside too. Not just an inside scene.
Smaller than expected but think it works very well once you got it populated Tim, the incinerator trooper looks great by the door, I’d definitely be tempted by this 👍thanks for sharing mate 👍
Not terrible I'll will keep my eye open for this to go on clearance, definitely better than the hall way and caro chamber bridge to nowhere sets.
Just picked mine up for $42 CAD today, you can find it cheap now if your stores carry it still
Cool set, I really like the look of this.
We need heaps of Death Trooper's now haha
Thanks Tim 🤘
Nice review Tim! Not really much to it. But still excited to add to my growing Mandalorian shelves 😉👌🏽

I heard you can connect two or more of these together which is something that sounds pretty cool.
It's a nice looking diorama piece to me. Just stick a photo of Gideon and his troops in the window to save money and space on the display.

Not thrilled about the cardboard parts. The Jabbas palace didn't have any cardboard parts, it was all plastic. It just seems to be cheaping out.
Yeah I'm not big on the cardboard and I thought the door would be plastic and slide. Good review of either way
Great video and review. Sad that the door is fixed piece of cardboard for the price. The detailing of the bottles etc is brilliant.
Nice but I'm sure if Blue Peter was still going they'd help make one that looked as good
Surprised BP haven't made a Razor Crest yet, oh wait, you can't get those washing up liquid bottles anymore...ah well...😖

I would display in the C shape - but what are the width dimensions in that config? As I only have 33.5cm width on shelf!

Yeah I have to order this bad boy. How many of the Tantive did you get Tim
Hmm looks like im hittin BnQ to do my own !
FYI..I checked the scene, and there are actually two Deathtroopers with range finders on there helmets.
Great review. Did the cardback have the thick card stock or the old one?
Unfortunately not
Is the half arch double sided so you can join 2 of them?
Is this card back one of the new thicker ones like they did with antoc? Great review
Unfortunately not
@@BossksBounty I hope they start making them soon the last wave seemed to be very flimsy

how do you get everything so quickilly I wont see this till later than april, I'm in the US
For $55 it really needs a second figure included with this set. I assumed it was 40$.
