Geoff (Warhorn) Castellucci. i would go with oogie boogie song from voiceplay.
and for a piece which is strictly Geoff, try his 'Take Me Home, Country Road
This is Halloween is amazing too.
Their cover of the Oogie Boogie song is my favorite.
It's REALLY good. I suppose if I was FORCED to choose a favorite I might pick that one, but I'm not a huge fan of favoritism. I mean.. I like lobster, steak, crème brûlée, chocolate soufflé, 20 year aged cheddar, Pentatonix, Home Free, VoicePlay, Queen, Postmodern Jukebox, ad infinitum.
To me, the word "favorite" is too close to "the only thing I like" and that's just not me. Yes, it's semantics and yes I'm being picky about NOT being picky :) But yeah... VoicePlay's cover of Oogie Boogie's Song is a damn good one.
Likewise
How dare you, This is the best one.
still here lady, and still so much in love with this group.. Ty Ty Ty
VoicePlay is my favourite group! You’re correct, the bass is Geoff Castellucci.
Layne Stein is the beatboxer, Eli Jacobsen (the guy in green clothes) is the tenor 2, J None (the guy with a little bun in his hair) was their baritone, but he recently left to join the navy. The bearded guy is the guest singer, Jose Rosario Jr.
They’ve been missing a tenor 1 for a year and now J None quit 2 months ago, but they’ve just announced a new member, Cesar de la Rosa. I’m not sure if he’ll be their tenor or baritone. They all have amazing ranges! I recommend “If I were a rich man/girl”, which they released yesterday!
One talent I've seen from VoicePlay that I've *not* seen from other vocal groups is: bringing in guest singers to feature in performances. Mostly, I've seen this in the last year +, after their high tenor left, but they've also done it before then. They just know how to find good people to collab with, and know how to blend their voices with someone new, or occasional, and make it sound like they've been together forever.
Cesar is officially their tenor/baritone. So both.
I think Cesar is a tenor.
Get ready for some thrills and chills as they are amazing! They’ve gone through some lineup changes and often feature a female guest singer so it can be a little confusing but just sit back and enjoy the magic. “Boy Bands in 5 Minutes”, “Moana”, “Queen in 5 Minutes”, “We’re Good”, “If I Were a Rich Man/Girl” and basically anything else they do is great.
i think the main categories you can put Voiceplay, Pentatonix and Home Free in, is Pentatonix being the pop/mainstream focused group, Home Free being the country focused group and Voiceplay being the theatrical focused group. they all of course do a lot of stuff outside of this as well, but that is their main focus and they do it so well! Voiceplay do like to dress the part and often have a theatrical approach to their songs. but they also do a lot of songs just straight forward. and like Home Free, they aren't afraid of being silly and having fun in their videos.
Gitana Thanks, for the reaction to Voiceplay. This was my first time to hear and listen to him. I did love them and the song too. Keep up the great job that you are doing.
Bass: Geoff
Vocal percussion: Layne
Bald guy: Eli (Pronounced L. E)
The black guy is J. None
The featured singer is Jose Rosario Jr.
Easier to list them by appearance than position since this was your first taste of VOICEPLAY lol
Great pronunciation example for Eli. L E. That is how I would have explained it also.
J none is no longer with them.
@@DJB1991 as far as I’ve heard, he will be coming back after his time in the navy
Nice. Great song and great reaction.
I really like Oogie Boogie too. Geoff's solo version of The Beatles Blackbird is also a fav. Great audio and video production and very well done.
One of my favorites from them is there new song if I were rich man. It is a very cool rendition of that song
Brilliant job editing Donovan! The "WOW" counter was genius. Gitana you weren't too bad either! LOL!
Thank You Mr. Post 😁😁😁😁🤣🤣
Geoff Castellucci, that's the one, :) Always gets a reaction. VoicePlay have many beautiful songs as well as the jaw drop ones, Can't Help Falling In Love is one such. Tennessee Whisky is another. Layne Stein is the vocal percussion (beatbox), Eli Jacobson (say Elly), J,None is the black baritone, and the big guy is Jose, a guest on this one.
Hi again and love the reaction. Voice play is such a great group. See you soon…. 😊❤
Oogie boogie's song, Your a mean one Mr Grinch by Voiceplay, and Far over the Misty Mountains Cold by Geoff Castellucci.
You'll love them 😀👍🍻
Well done dear! I love your facial reactions!! be safe, you are loved dear. ♥
The key to how VoicePlay differs from the other groups is in their name - VoicePLAY.
Love their cover of “Hoist The Colours”
Thanks! Loved your reaction. I hope you can do some more VoicePlay. I left a few suggestions in the comments for this song.
All the best,
MB
thank you so much! I have only just seen this now I really appreciate it, I will be back with more music reactions soon! 💓
They just dropped this NEW one yesterday. AMAZING!!!!! IF I WERE A RICH MAN/GIRL
One thing that I really admire is that the guys in VoicePlay are good friends with Hone Free. Geoff actually did the arrangement for HF's "Elvira" cover. It's my dream that someday Tim, Geoff and Avi do a collab, that would shake the very Earth! Next recommendation for VP is Little Mermaid, followed by Bang or Oogie Boogie Song.
I'm so glad you got to them.they are a terrific crew. Home Free has their niche in country. Pentatonix leans pop/classic rock. VP does so much theater. I'd recommend3.
1. THE LITTLE MERMAID MEDLEY
2. BUTTER
3. OOGIE BOOGIES SONG
3.5 THE MOANA MEDLEY
My first time hearing them also, it was great I really liked it. Thanks for doing this. Your reaction was great, so good to see you, you are beautiful as always. LOVE Y'ALL!!
🤘🙂👍
So glad you added the third leg of the Triad of Vocal Mastery!
What an adept description of Pentatonix, Home Free, and VoicePlay!
I always recommend Voiceplays Carry on Wayward Son for a great example of their skill... Oogie Boogie is great too but really helps if you know Nightmare Before Christmas (as otherwise seen many a confused reactor)
It's like a sound track from Vikings
Powerful voice and great tones.
Gitana, you are a beautiful ray of sunshine on a Saturday afternoon.
Very cool video. I wish I had an ounce of their vocal abilities.
There new song "Rich girl/man" is amazing... Highly recommend you check it out
Geoff has a new bass cover misty mountains cold awsome
Right to left Layne Stein (vocal percussion) Jesse( J. None) Nunn (baritenor) Eli, pronounced elee , Jacobson, tenor, guest vocalist Jose Rosario Jr., and the bass that will melt your face Geoff ( The horn of Helm Hammerhand) Castlelluci basso profundo.
Finally🥳 the ones that I like are Go the distance, unchained melody, oogie boogie's song, just sing, moana medley, little mermaid medley, can't help falling in love, queen in 5 minutes and we're good. Basically everything voiceplay, thank you for your reaction
Geoffs Misty Mountains is incredible, and Voiceplays Rich Man and Grinch are awesome!
Hey Half Pint & GITANO'S!!! Hope everyone is having a great Saturday so far! I really liked that - know absolutely nothing about them! Much love & positivity Half Pint & GITANO'S!!!💙💞💙
Oogie boogie it's that time of year and it's an amazing song with wonderful theatrics I'll be a follower for that song, love your reactions btw 🎵 🎶
So very glad you finally did this. Absolutely love it and Geoff's Warhorn bass is super as is Eli , Lane ,J-None and Jose .
Voiceplay is amazing and my favourite! You should check out the moana medley, the little mermaid medley, carry on my wayward son. Their newest one is amazing if I were a rich man/girl. All of their songs are great!
MOAR VOICEPLAY! If I Were a Rich Man/Girl is AMAZING!
you'll find this acapella group not only sings awesome, but they dress the parts. I find it increases the enjoyable rating with their songs.
Finally lol You will now be inundated with Voiceplay and Geoff Castellucci song to review :D
LOL Perfect "Surprised Pikachu Face" with Geoff's first low note. I always wait for it! You didn't disappoint! Glad you found Voiceplay! Welcome to the addiction!!!
I can highly recommend their covers of Oogie Boogie Song, Queen in 5 minutes, This is Halloween, You're a mean one Mr. Grinch, Kidnap the Sandy Clause, Warriors, Butter, We're Good, If I were a rich man/girl and Boy Bands in 5 minutes
Oogie Boogie, Queen in 5, Moana medley, Little mermaid medley. all favorites.
Welcome back. I have missed you. This is a phenomenal group. I recommend Carryon My Wayward Son and Queen in 5 Minutes.
Queen in 5 minutes, Carry On My Wayward Son, but my fav is Oogie Boogie Song. Actually just pick any Voice play they're all good.
Geoff has his own channel , you would love his Country Roads, Headless Horseman, he does a great job of layering all the vocals.
They just released a new song, called HOIST the Colors. It seems to have broken most reactors.
Next react to Geoff Castellucci Misty Mountains, it’s really good.
No, react to Oogie Boogie first. No... Halloween. No... AAAAAHHHH there are too many, they're just so good!
Insane bass!!😱💖💙
You gotta do their version of Oogie Boogie's Song! That is amazing!
🤟
🤘
Nice reaction, Sunshine. That was a great song.
The very newest release for voice play is if I were a rich man/girl and it is phenomenal .
One of the neat things about VoicePlay is they can do all different styles and genres but they make them their own.
you will enjoy this one very much and it features all four of the permanent numbers and a young lady who is very very talented as a guest artist check them out if you can.
Even if you don’t do a video on them right away listen to the tune and smile
I hope your life goes well and that all your family is safe and healthy
Love them.. Warriors is a banger, too!
Part of the great trifecta of A Capella groups; PTX, Home Free, and Voiceplay. Geoff's bass is crazy!!! Great reaction as always.
Down the rabbit hole. VP is great. They’re good friends with Home Free, and several of the members of each have done collabs with each other. To see Geoff’s 5 octave range, check our Oogie Boogie Song.
Love your reaction! Definitely check out their cover of the Oogie Boogie song to get Geoff's full range. Then check out their Disney Medleys of Little Mermaid and Moana. They do a really amazing cover of Bang as well. Just a phenomenal group.
Oogie Boogie
This is Halloween
High and Dry
Black Bird
Country Roads
all great Voiceplay and Geoff covers
Two real fun songs are "Oogie Boogie's Song" from A Nightmare Before Christmas and "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch". These guys always make a full production for all their videos, including costume and make-up.
You really need to check out Voiceplay's cover of Kansas's "Onward Wayward Son"
Carry On Wayward Son
You would very much enjoy their little mermaid medley with rachel Potter. So good.
For drama: definitely Hoist the Colours. As others have commented, J has left for the Navy and Cesar de la Rosa is his replacement. Jose Rosario Jr. Is with them for a while (used to be (maybe still is?) with Rockapella) while they audition to replace their high tenor.
Geoff did the arrangement and it is stellar. No big hints here, but Pirates!
On Geoff's channel, check out his version of Misty Mountains Cold - the dwarves song from the Hobbit. He has cloned himself and songs all four parts.
Both have that theatrical punch.
Geoff Castallucci is the bass singer for Voiceplay, but he has his own videos where he sings all of the parts and does the beatboxing. He has close to a 5 octave range. His lowest notes are subharmonic. Eli (pronounced Ellie) is a baritone . Jay is a tenor . Layne is the beatboxer.
Many people will recommend “Oogie Boogie Song” which is great. But my favorite is “Can’t Help Falling in Love”. Such a beautiful harmonic blend. Thanks for your reaction today
Oogie boogie is good but not a great song to display all they can do.
Welcome to the rabbit hole that is VoicePlay. I’ll cover stuff others may not have. They have their own record label so you don’t have to worry about being blocked. They actually like reactions and have talked about a few reactors in their podcast on patreon.
This is the tip of the iceberg for voice play..my fav is hoist the colors and oogie boogie, but they have a queen medley that's incredible, and a little mermaid and Moana medley that are fantastic
Good reaction as always, and welcome to the world of Voiceplay!
My guess is that if you had added them to your reactions earlier, you might have passed the 100K mark by now..
Awesome Gitana , You should save their Oogie Boogie for Halloween , everything of Voiceplay is worth watching. Great to see you smiling. And if you haven't seen Voctave , another acapella group you should especially their Disney princess medley. Keep smiling , stay healthy - hugs and love from Australia to you and all Gitanos.
Mantap, nona gitana.
Geoff Castellucci, as you already know, is the bass. Layne Stein is the beat boxer. Eli (pronounced Elly) is the high tenor (awesome little bald guy) J-None is the baritone (Sadly, left the group recently to go into the military. *cries* and Jose Rosario Jr (The one with the beard) is a guest singer because Earl Elkins (AMAZING tenor!...also with a beard) left the group before this recorded. Hope that helps! There's a new "official" member now named Cesar De La Rosa...check out "If I Were a Rich Man" that just came out...its their first video with Cesar as an official member.
Hello Gitana Yes oogie boogie please !!!
Voiceplay is my absolutely favorite acapella group. Their newest songs Enemy and Dream On are insane! As well as We Don't Talk About Bruno
Yes I’m screaming finally and the best part of this is there is soooo much that voice play has for you to react to I can’t wait for you to listen to it as always stay safe and lots of ❤️💚coming from Philadelphia 😘
I'd also suggest their cover of This is Halloween and Mean One Mr Grinch, to see how they get into the theatrical and fun aspects of their songs
My first time too, thank you for introducing me to this Ac cappella group!
SHORTCAKE you are absolutely right WOW
I hope "If I were a Rich Man/Girl" featuring Ashley Diane is on your list. Totally amped up version from The Fiddler on the Roof musical.
I'm new to them too, but already a fan! I love your reactions Gitana, Bravo!!!
Can't help falling in love, older cover by them.
Carry on my wayward sun.
Go the distance. Disney's Hercules cover.
If I were a rich man, from fiddler on the roof
Hoist the colors, from Disney's Pirate's if the Caribbean.
Now you have to hear their latest, 'Hoist The Colours' - it'll blow your mind. And also 'This Is Halloween,' and 'The Oogie Boogie Song' - oh, and also 'Boybands in Minutes' and 'Queen In Five Minutes'... sorry, but you're about to fall into another acapella rabbit-hole. 😁
Rumor is that Geoff took tips from Tim Foust to extend his bass range and has helped Home Free with producing some of their songs. All three groups Voice Play, Home Free, and Pentatonix know one another and occasionally help one another. They seem to mainly swap bass talent, but they also swap production expertise. Voice Play also adds female voices in (Rachel Potter mainly) to do Disney covers. Their "Moana" and "Little Mermaid" medelys are great and very theatrical.
The Geoff and VoicePlay rabbit hole is deep and worth the
I was trying to say the rabbit hole is deep and worth the journey. I hope you react to more of VoicePlay and Geoff's individual works.
you should hear their Carry On Wayward Son cover!
Oogie Boogie's Song Is definitely a must. Such a showcase of talent with the awesome arrangement, voices, and incredible vocal ranges. It will raise anyone's appreciation for the amount of talent Voice Play possesses.
I always like the way you keep your reactions on a personal level. You and the cross talk with your husband add to the reactions you do. I have been listening to PENTATONIX for years, then Home Free when Avi sang in their cover of Jonny Cash's "Ring of Fire" and then found Voice Play from their compition shows. I know each group has its own style but I think what really got me hooked is what they can do with their voices, and I have to admit I really like hearing exceptional bass voices. I know that these groups have had interactions with each other in the past and perhaps will in the future. I hope sometime in the future that we see a colaberation like the 3 tenors, but with the 3 Basses with their combined vocal ranges, I expect a thrilling proformance.
(
Hey anyone is allowed to dream! ;-o
)
Please keep up your reactions, and bring/drag Donovan to the party as well, enjoy seeing you both.
Suggested Songs fun to hear no tears....
Roger Miller "London Swings Like a Pendulum Do", "Dang Me"
Jonny Cash "One Price At a Time", "Boy Named Sue"
Ray Stevens "Missippi Squirrel Revival", "Along Came Jones"
instrumentals with good videos
Lindsey Sterling "Prisim", "Crystalize" --- Dub Step Violinist dances while playing.
Christopher Cross "Sailing"
So many more but got to go, good listening to you. (Sorry for the length. This kind of happens with old people and computers, and time.)
Oh sista! This is your FIRST time with VoicePlay? Def check out their covers of Butter, Tennessee Whiskey, Boy Bands Medley, Little Mermaid Medley, Oogie Boogie’s Song...and much more. Enjoy that rabbit hole! :-)
My mans is hitting an F1 subharmonic without even sweating... I guess it's easy for him since his chest voice ends literally a semitone higher. I know he can go down to at least A0, and way lower in vocal fry, but holy shit does he have clarity at this low of a frequency
Geoff's layered cover of Misty Mountains from the Hobbit would be a sweet follow up to this...
Their oogie boogie song cover is awesome 👌
The band is lane on beat box vocals Eli a high pitched vocals then Caesar another great high scale vocals then there is Jose Rosario Jr might recognize him from the movie musical Hamilton
VoicePlay often does significantly more with the theatrics (costumes, make-up, character voices, acting, ...) than here. Check out for example their Little Mermaid medley, or any of the several songs they did from Nightmare Before Christmas, or the Phantom of the Opera, or the Queen in 5 Minutes medley...
Though my personal favorite thing they've ever done is Hoist the Colours, which is about like this one: they have costumes and make-up, and a set and cool lighting, but mostly they just sing.
Great reaction.... oogie boogie should be your next VP reaction.
Always love your reaction…
Can’t wait for CORALINE by Maneskin absolutely with English subtitles
Check out Geoff (Jeff) Castallucci's solo work, 16 tons, blackbird.
OH YES! Another of my favorite reactors reacting to My Mother Told me! Gitana, you haven't heard VoicePlay before? As many other fans of yours have noted, get ready for a wild ride! Oh, and I haven't even watched this reaction yet. I'm loving it in advance because... duh.
Oogie Boogie's song is definitely a MUST, it shows in the best possible manner not only the tremendous voice techniques used by Voiceplay, but also the capabilities of each individual in his own register as well as their theatrical talent, which makes this song an absolute treat! Geoff in his costume is a most convincing Boogey Man that would fit in any Disney production with his team! Your reaction to this song would be much appreciated!
I would recommend Va Canto, any of their songs, A cappella (they do have a drummer) metal
Geoff: the one on the far left: u know him let’s not talk about him
Eli(pronounced El-e) the right of Geoff: the most versatile of the group with his very smooth runs and metal vibe he gives
Jose Rosario: in the middle: not a member of the group
J.None: In the right: very smooth runs. He recently left the group to join the navy and got replaced by Cesar De La Rosa. He is charismatic and he brings them coffee
Layne: the mini-alien of the group: far right: is the beat boxer. His sounds are ridiculous
This is a great song, but the one you need to see is Oogie Boogie Song.
Unbelievable.
Geoff is the bass. Eli is the bald tenor. Layne is the beat boxer. Jay None is the black tenor (recently left VoicePlay). Jose is the one with the beard, not a regular member of the group.
Definitely love the whole trifecta of Aca-groups.
Geoff did a Misty Mountains cover recently that you might like . I know you filmed the Tim Faust and Peter Hollens version sometime last year, but you'll both like that one.
Some of my faves: ... We're Good, If I Were A Rich Man/Girl, Oogie Boogie Song, Carry On Wayward Son, Moana & Little Mermaid Medley's, Phantom of the Opera... I could go on, they have a fairly large and diverse list.
Great reaction video - thank you. now to follow up on Voiceplay you HAVE to do "Oogie Boogie Man" and "The Little Mermaid" medley.
