The Importance of Wriothesley [Genshin Impact Character Discussion]

- Wriothesley plays an underrated role all things considered in the Fontaine Story, but his role in Fontanian society may be the most important of them all. After coming to an understanding of Wriothesley's past and what led to him here, what motivates him, and what he has achieved deserves a spotlight.

Honestly, the AU where Arlecchino takes Wriothesley into the House would make a great canon divergence fanfic. I might write it if I get enough inspiration

Yeah the fortress definitely reminded me of those humane prisons in Denmark or something. Instead of a place of punishment, the facility works as rehab for inmates; have them jobs, education n basic human dignity
I have thought about this when making the video but ultimately there is a major difference between the two:
The surface of Fontaine is drastically different from Denmark: when lyney's parents died the twins became instantly homeless for years. Freminet's mom sold him off to repay debt, there wasn't any law or government program that would save them, they were just screwed.
People don't want to leave the fortress i would assume because Fontaine doesn't do enough to re-integrate convicts back into society. They would reasonably believe that even if they returned to the surface, life up there with its lack of safety nets would still be worse than in prison. in prison you get guaranteed food, guaranteed shelter and guaranteed employment. The Fortress is like a blessing for victims of poverty and circumstance, and a massive punishment for wealthy criminals like Vacher and Morris. I think in Denmark you would still rather be a free citizen than a prisoner, or else it kinda defeats the purpose of a prison.
@@arcazure9610 Freminet was not sold off. He was put in the house of the hearth by his mom for his safety so that the debt collectors couldn't take him as payment. The previous Knave lied to Freminet saying he was sold of to pay a debt so they could have control over him.
Currently maining him the others might stole the archon quest but his outfit stole my heart 😔😆🫶🏻

as soon as i can release videos faster than once every 25 days i think the subs should start coming. That's always been my channel's biggest problem, just not enough videos.

I was listening appreciating some nice social commentary looked at the comments was confused there are only 4, looked at the subscriber numbers and my eyes popped out of my head. Because your delivery is fantastic but i have genuinely no clue how the youtube algorithm autoplay suggested this from watching a stand up comedy bit about a gay guys petty hatred of straight man hair....... im not complaining...... but youtube is there something i need to know?
Wriothesley is also (along with Chevreuse, Chiori, the currently unseen Emilie, and MAYBE Charlotte) the only member of the Fontaine cast that has never engaged or assisted in Furina Abuse, so that's enough for me to call him the hero.

In the last Archon Quest Wrio literally carried Fontaine With his ark and he gets no credit from players. While Furina sat on her thrown while everything flooded and everyone loving her 💀
It's so wild that Neuvilette took around 500 years to scratch the surface of human cruelty and notice the deep flaw in the justice system. And even so, he still chose to forgive these despicable, nasty people... Because most were good - even in Meropide, where he first overruled the sentence of the prophecy.
I'm positive Neuvilette will definitely ask Wriothesley and Navia for help in making the court less of a show and a true house of justice now. Even if the Oratrice wasn't incorrect in its judgement and usually aligned with Neuvilette's, I wonder how many times he, himself, thought about the nuances of the cases - Wriothesley, Veronique and Baptiste, for example and wondered about them. Recently we know he grieved for days when he learned of Calla's sacrifice and surely that gave him so much to work on.
Honestly, I REALLY wish we could see Navia, Wriothesley and Neuvilette working in tandem to improve the system.
