My favorite version of this song. Can't beat that "recorded in the bathroom" sound. Amazing.

      It's called reverb bud.

@@dalekay9ine It might be reverb but the true "Punk" ethic of do it for yourself was alive and well in the Gang of Four - listen carefully to Love Like Anthrax from the featured EP and you can hear a technical explanation of how the track was recorded - the subliminal message being "if we can do this, so can you - don't wait for the revolution to come to you, make it happen through your own actions?"

You hit the Christ Nail right on the Serpent's Head. Dog bless you and yours. On Earth as it is in Heathen. Today is the burst day of the Zest of your Strife. That which doesn't kill you makes you into a murdurer. A murmaider. Murmaid Murder.

Recorded in the bathroom? I don't get it. How does it sound like it was recorded that way?

I agree. LP version though very similar sounds a little cleaner, and is a tad faster. Paradoxically, i think this rocks harder!

    I can't achieve
    Send me back

    Give me the change

Reminds me of Shakespeare Sonnet 87:
Farewell! thou art too dear for my possessing,
And like enough thou knowst thy estimate.
      The Charter of thy worth gives thee releasing;
My bonds in thee are all determinate.
For how do I hold thee but by thy granting,
And for that riches where is my deserving?
The cause of this fair gift in me is wanting,
And so my patent back again is swerving.
Thy self thou gav'st, thy own worth then not knowing,
Or me, to whom thou gav'st it, else mistaking,
So thy great gift, upon misprision growing,
Comes home again, on better judgement making.
Thus have I had thee as a dream doth flatter:
In sleep a king, but waking no such matter.

Actually, all three songs form ''Damaged Goods" EP first appeared on Fast Product's ''The First Year Plan" various artists compilation LP, back in 1979. "Mutant Pop" compilation was, basically, "The First Year Plan" for US and Canada territories - renamed, with new LP cover and slightly different track listing (one single from Mekons and one from The Flowers, instead two singles from Mekons on original compilation). "The First Year Plan" was reissued on CD in 1993, renamed "Rigour Discipline & Disgust" and with bonus tracks from some other Fast Product's singles and EPs.
