I feel it's pretty reasonable to assume that if she can't use her powers she likely shouldn't be able to fly either, so it's entirely plausible that those GFs were just.. not real. Just a ploy to fuck with BF, I guess? It is also implied in the credits the GF deaths were faked, but they might be non-canon.
