Here's an interesting thought to chew on: I think that Ultra M genuinely intended for Act 3 to be the finale of All-Stars. He thought that by killing Girlfriend and turning her into his latest minion, Boyfriend would break entirely and submit to his inevitable death...but instead, Boyfriend just keeps on going. So Ultra M starts taunting BF through the lyrics in the latter half of Act 3, trying to goad him into letting it all end...and it doesn't work, forcing Ultra M to finish the job himself. I mean, if you listen to his pre-Act 4 speech, it's equal parts mocking BF's defiance...and irritably demanding to know why he won't just give the hell up already when it's increasingly obvious that he's doomed. And then Boyfriend just gets ANGRY and keeps on rapping, even when Ultra M starts throwing the vocals of his "shells" into the mix to try and throw him off. The surprise backstab at the end of the song could be interpreted as Ultra M's patience finally reaching its limit, recognition that Boyfriend simply WON'T stop fighting...or perhaps even a hint of fear that Boyfriend could ACTUALLY manage to beat him if this keeps up.

A theory I have for the credits and all the pictures of horror Mario and his puppets having fun and laughing with bf and gf is that’s probably how he wanted things to go. Remember waaaaay before all this happened bro just wanted to not be alone. I’m pretty sure he would’ve found out about bf and gf one way or another and would’ve pulled them into his world anyways just to chill and stuff. And if that did happen he wouldn’t have any intent on killing them therefore boyfriend wouldn’t have felt threatened by horror Mario and he wouldn’t have ran after starman slaughter. But canonically boyfriend and girlfriend are extremely stupid which explains why they didn’t leave and why boyfriend kept trying in act 4. Because he doesn’t know when to give up. That's one of the reasons why I love this mod, unlike other mods, Boyfriend shows actual emotion to the situations, if MM V2 was made from another person, Boyfriend might've not gave a single fuck about Girlfriends puppet corpse.
I love how watching Boyfriend's determination and thirst for revenge, All Stars clearly could've lasted even longer, and maybe Boyfriend would've won either way, but Ultra M went "I'm not taking anymore chances" and fucking executed him on the spot 💀

I really agree… If he could, he would’ve kept them forever. And the theory that it’s a play is something I’d like to believe the most, but no matter the interpretation we take… no matter what ‘ending’ we choose, whether GF and BF are actually dead or not… M still ends up unsatisfied. He still ends up empty handed. He still ends up alone, at the end of it all.
He somewhat had to; Ultra M was bound by the same deal made by Horror Mario (since I believe Ultra M is an extension of Horror Mario). "Three songs. Just three. Win, and I let you go. Lose, and you'll die by my hand" In the lead up he mentions "You broke our little deal" so the remorse is asking if that is truly what he wanted in the credits and I think the answer is no. He's back to being a god over all the other mario creepy pasta's with no real enjoyment.

@@Esprit110 apparently there was a scrapped ending you could get by FCing All-Stars, where BF actually does escape, but has to explain what happened to GF to Daddy Dearest, who ends up shooting him. so even if BF didn't escape after Starman Slaughter and M kept his side of the deal, BF's fate really was set in motion the moment he laid eyes on that little cartridge.

This mod really does the exe “I am god” idea much better than Sonic.exe did with how 1. Gf’s powers don’t work 2. The songs just being much harder(and peak music) and 3. Ultra M actually wins in the end.
The only reason gfs powers didn't work in marios word and worked in sonics exes world is because unlike sonic exe mario knew the dearest and probably knew that they had powers sonic exe while probably similar in strength to mario had no knowledge of the dearest and what they were capable of
Granted, Xeno is probably just used to scaring a younger audience so he never really had to try in order to start scaring the player outside the game, at least until BF came around. That's when he realized he actually had to put in real effort to kill BF and get the player as well, which is what he was so furious about. M already knew he'd have to put in effort to scare the player, or at least give them something worth their while. (Keep in mind he probably had the power to kill the player from the start, he likely just wanted to focus his attention on the couple instead)

Xeno only directly acknowledges the player in Too Slow, meanwhile M doesn’t at all and only acknowledges BF and GF (except Mr. Virtual when you game over). I figure it just comes down to Xeno never having to deal with a stubborn foe who could actually stop him, which makes him furious, meanwhile M knows what he’s up against and stacks the cards so he’ll win.
Honestly I don’t think people talk about the 1st few turns in Act 1 enough. The way the instrumental pairs with the incredible vocals make it feel like you really are getting ready to enter the biggest finale ever and it sets up the rest of the song so well.

I love the use of Omega and his posse to hammer home exactly what's been happening the entire mod. They look different, have different bodies, they look completely new, but are all one, singular whole and can coordinate as such. Some are like pack animals, some are like hive guards rallying around their royal. They are all him. They are all part of M's mind. [spoiler] I also love that either through accidental mechanic interaction, or intentional placement, Turmoil ends up being the one to foreshadow the ending with that last lick he gets at the end of Last Course AND being the last one Ultra M uses the voice of.
True, I just noticed that at the end the image of Turmoil came out, at first I didn't understand, but after what you mentioned I think it now makes sense that he makes that last attack at the end of his song when he turns black, basically he was foreshadowing how it would go to finish everything.
God I felt utterly unnerved by the complete synergy between the underlings under Omega. The harmony they had felt completely unnatural, like as if they had no will of their own rather than something born from actual teamwork. Which, in this context, makes complete sense due to M's puppeteering of practically everything.

Honestly, having listened to both this and Awe's Triple Trouble Encore, I would say that the two aren't even comparable. Both are amazing in their own right, and truly feel like final fanfares from their creators. Both Awe and the MM team had to deal with lots of drama when they were working on these projects, and at any point they couldn't dropped them and moved on, but ultimately in the end they managed to push through all of it and deliver something truly special. 4:56 this is by far the best use of lyrics in a fnf song so far. it's so imposing, doesn't replace the vocals, and whoever VA'd this is really good edit: another thing i noticed is that when M first starts mimicking voices (6:41-7:07) there's little motifs to the character's respective songs edit 2: I just realised at 7:01 if you pay attention to only Ultra M's eyes and Mr. Virtual's mouth, it looks HILARIOUS.
They tease Mr. Sys and Unbeatable in general at 8:13 before his reveal using his icon in gameplay and you can hear slightly "You cannot beat us" as his voice gets mimicked

I'd like to think that Mr. Sys appearing in this song is part of why he keeps hammering in that "You cannot beat us!" He has been summoned by M (because I think he actually isn't part of the hive mind, maybe a hapless Nintendo employee who got sucked in but keeps himself useful by luring others in), and sees BF get killed at the end, so throughout Unbeatable, he keeps saying his catchphrase, now only to _mock_ BF for thinking that he has a chance when at this point they *both* know he's dead already even if Unbeatable being in the world map means it technically happens before All Stars.

people are saying this is better than Triple Trouble in every way but I don't like to say one song is better than the other, so I'm gonna say that All Stars is more of a "Triple Trouble Mario Mix" without taking direct inspiration from Triple Trouble, the inspiration's still there don't get me wrong, it's just not that noticable. So can we all agree that both this and Triple Trouble are two sides of the same coin and are both amazing songs in their own right and shouldn't be compared to see which is the better song? the way that people are declaring one better than the other is like watching the Console Wars repeat and also hearing all those arguments about if Mario or Sonic is better, like jesus christ.
Triple Trouble and All Stars have a similar concept yet entirely different Performences. Triple Trouble is Xenos last attempt to kill bf before utterly breaking the mods at its seams to get his ass. It’s to show how much a god can mean so little to BF’s plot armor. All Stars on the other hand is a matter of delaying the Inevitable. Bf and Gf made a deal and they broke it so their souls became forfeit. It’s instead Bf’s last chance to take a stand and failing to defy a God.

Just wanted to say. Ive been here since mario madness v2 was announced, i sat through every teaser, every delay, every drama, and i must say. Im not underwhelmed, im not dissapointed, all stars is my new favorite fnf song. This mod is on a golden podium of what love and effort can create. This was the best christmas present you could have given me, i sat through the entire hour and a half of this mod. Because all your work. All your effort. Your a shining light in a community of drama, this mod saw it through to the end. The years waiting. You can rest, you created the best piece of fnf media. Not cringe. Not overdone. Not no 9 hours long like sonic.exe fanbuild. This is a masterpiece. And no fnf mod will beat it for years to come. All stars itself is better then entire mods. Thank you

I can’t stop listening to the part where Ultra M starts spitting bars. This song is so well made, and it’s cool that Ultra M actually won in the end instead of BF surviving because main character syndrome
I think even in most other EXE mods he only escapes barely. It was actually refreshing to see a 'bad end' which is in keeping with most actual creepypasta's.
The build up from M’s speech before this song is so engaging as it truly feels like you’re about to face off a legitimate boss battle, and a really good one at that

I feel like the segment where Ultra M is using the voices of the other mushroom killers could have them be a little louder. Could barely here most if not all of them.
This blew me away. It's no doubt that this was the final song in the game that went all out. Really gives off the final boss feel, and the artstyle.. dont get me started on that because they were absolutely FIRE. This was all worth the wait. A lot of love was in this project. Well done, MM team.
Commenting from an alt account, I don't want my identity to be shown but I must say it right here, this has been the first time ever in my life where I actually cried playing FNF, and I've been hanging around here even before Whitty came out, I remember the first trailer of VS Sonic.EXE, and the first of this one, and just the feeling of how all this odyssey of more than 2 years ends here in such a brutal yet beautiful way is just unbearable for my feelings. I adore every single detail that has been put into this finale, and I'm perfectly aware that it'll be hard to top this in the future, I just don't want to talk too much even if I'm working on a full document praising this song, but I love you all, thanks for the actual peak of FNF's modding abilities, you delivered everything that we could have ever asked for, and I wish you all a bright future, we will always remember this, at least I'll do. Actually the cartridge was a SMB1 one, as seen in the beginning cutscene. My guess is that Ultra M can control the 'Mario universe' itself or something like that

This had sounded and felt so amazing the first time I played it. I loved how it feels like a finale/triple trouble situation where everything is breaking down and it's the final battle with Ultra. A part of me wishes that Sturm (churgney gurgney) had some part of this just for it to be even more epic, but it's still really good!

Here's an interesting thought to chew on: I think that Ultra M genuinely intended for Act 3 to be the finale of All-Stars. He thought that by killing Girlfriend and turning her into his latest minion, Boyfriend would break entirely and submit to his inevitable death...but instead, Boyfriend just keeps on going. So Ultra M starts taunting BF through the lyrics in the latter half of Act 3, trying to goad him into letting it all end...and it doesn't work, forcing Ultra M to finish the job himself. I mean, if you listen to his pre-Act 4 speech, it's equal parts mocking BF's defiance...and irritably demanding to know why he won't just give the hell up already when it's increasingly obvious that he's doomed.
And then Boyfriend just gets ANGRY and keeps on rapping, even when Ultra M starts throwing the vocals of his "shells" into the mix to try and throw him off. The surprise backstab at the end of the song could be interpreted as Ultra M's patience finally reaching its limit, recognition that Boyfriend simply WON'T stop fighting...or perhaps even a hint of fear that Boyfriend could ACTUALLY manage to beat him if this keeps up.
He won, but it's a bitter victory.

M is such a creative character. He's not just some other random baddie in the list, he *is* in a sense, Mario, or rather a corruption of what the original character was. Every internet creepypasta, animation, urban legend, copycat, and fan creation related to the Mario franchise exists inside of his domain, inside the world of Super Mario.
So that would also include Weegee, Malleo, Fortran, Guiyii, Mario Head and SMG4 lot etc. Ultra-M must be extremely powerful.

@@Esprit110 apparently there was a scrapped ending you could get by FCing All-Stars, where BF actually does escape, but has to explain what happened to GF to Daddy Dearest, who ends up shooting him. so even if BF didn't escape after Starman Slaughter and M kept his side of the deal, BF's fate really was set in motion the moment he laid eyes on that little cartridge.

It’s actually possible to dodge that attack. BF’s 2 lives were taken in Alone and Dictator (if I’m correct)

The only two on screen deaths he has before All-Stars are Alone (the lightning flash and BF hanging, plus he’s a ghost now) and Dictator, where he blows up BF and GF. There are definitely some gray areas (Last Course, Race Traitors, No Party, Powerdown, and The End) where we don’t know either BF or GF’s fates, though

This mod really does the exe “I am god” idea much better than Sonic.exe did with how 1. Gf’s powers don’t work 2. The songs just being much harder(and peak music) and 3. Ultra M actually wins in the end.

The only reason gfs powers didn't work in marios word and worked in sonics exes world is because unlike sonic exe mario knew the dearest and probably knew that they had powers sonic exe while probably similar in strength to mario had no knowledge of the dearest and what they were capable of
Granted, Xeno is probably just used to scaring a younger audience so he never really had to try in order to start scaring the player outside the game, at least until BF came around. That's when he realized he actually had to put in real effort to kill BF and get the player as well, which is what he was so furious about. M already knew he'd have to put in effort to scare the player, or at least give them something worth their while. (Keep in mind he probably had the power to kill the player from the start, he likely just wanted to focus his attention on the couple instead)
@@dryjones9715I’m not sure if the player has anything to do with it. Xeno only directly acknowledges the player in Too Slow, meanwhile M doesn’t at all and only acknowledges BF and GF (except Mr. Virtual when you game over). I figure it just comes down to Xeno never having to deal with a stubborn foe who could actually stop him, which makes him furious, meanwhile M knows what he’s up against and stacks the cards so he’ll win.
Honestly I don’t think people talk about the 1st few turns in Act 1 enough. The way the instrumental pairs with the incredible vocals make it feel like you really are getting ready to enter the biggest finale ever and it sets up the rest of the song so well.

I love the use of Omega and his posse to hammer home exactly what's been happening the entire mod.
They look different, have different bodies, they look completely new, but are all one, singular whole and can coordinate as such.
Some are like pack animals, some are like hive guards rallying around their royal. They are all him. They are all part of M's mind.

I also love that either through accidental mechanic interaction, or intentional placement, Turmoil ends up being the one to foreshadow the ending with that last lick he gets at the end of Last Course AND being the last one Ultra M uses the voice of.
Plot twist: the tounge ends up through the portal and that's how bf died

True, I just noticed that at the end the image of Turmoil came out, at first I didn't understand, but after what you mentioned I think it now makes sense that he makes that last attack at the end of his song when he turns black, basically he was foreshadowing how it would go to finish everything.
God I felt utterly unnerved by the complete synergy between the underlings under Omega. The harmony they had felt completely unnatural, like as if they had no will of their own rather than something born from actual teamwork. Which, in this context, makes complete sense due to M's puppeteering of practically everything.
God this just makes so much sense, my mind is blown, it all fuels how fucking awesome this mod is.

something i truly love, is how the final words BF heard were "It's-a-me!" which is probably one of the worst ways to go, being killed by your childhood hero while he says his iconic line. its truly a terrifying, but also kinda badass thought. because this *is* Mario. its not some fake. it is indeed him. thank you all so much for this amazing mod. i will forever hold it so close to my heart, that, heh... it may stab it out of my body.

Honestly, having listened to both this and Awe's Triple Trouble Encore, I would say that the two aren't even comparable. Both are amazing in their own right, and truly feel like final fanfares from their creators. Both Awe and the MM team had to deal with lots of drama when they were working on these projects, and at any point they couldn't dropped them and moved on, but ultimately in the end they managed to push through all of it and deliver something truly special. Thank you, for everything.

Just some quick corrections, the character you listed as Super Horror Yoshi is actually not part of the Super Horror series of characters, Shadow Shana only made Mario and Peach. That's simply Yoshi.exe. And Bad Ending Luigi is known as Beta Luigi instead

He has been summoned by M (because I think he actually isn't part of the hive mind, maybe a hapless Nintendo employee who got sucked in but keeps himself useful by luring others in), and sees BF get killed at the end, so throughout Unbeatable, he keeps saying his catchphrase, now only to _mock_ BF for thinking that he has a chance when at this point they *both* know he's dead already even if Unbeatable being in the world map means it technically happens before All Stars.

Triple Trouble and All Stars have a similar concept yet entirely different Performences. Triple Trouble is Xenos last attempt to kill bf before utterly breaking the mods at its seams to get his ass. It’s to show how much a god can mean so little to BF’s plot armor. All Stars on the other hand is a matter of delaying the Inevitable. Bf and Gf made a deal and they broke it so their souls became forfeit. It’s instead Bf’s last chance to take a stand and failing to defy a God.

Im not underwhelmed, im not dissapointed, all stars is my new favorite fnf song. This mod is on a golden podium of what love and effort can create. This was the best christmas present you could have given me, i sat through the entire hour and a half of this mod. Because all your work. All your effort. Your a shining light in a community of drama, this mod saw it through to the end. The years waiting. You can rest, you created the best piece of fnf media. Not cringe. Not overdone. I can’t stop listening to the part where Ultra M starts spitting bars. This song is so well made, and it’s cool that Ultra M actually won in the end instead of BF surviving because main character syndrome
I think even in most other EXE mods he only escapes barely. It was actually refreshing to see a 'bad end' which is in keeping with most actual creepypasta's.

Commenting from an alt account, I don't want my identity to be shown but I must say it right here, this has been the first time ever in my life where I actually cried playing FNF, and I've been hanging around here even before Whitty came out, I remember the first trailer of VS Sonic.EXE, and the first of this one, and just the feeling of how all this odyssey of more than 2 years ends here in such a brutal yet beautiful way is just unbearable for my feelings. I adore every single detail that has been put into this finale, and I'm perfectly aware that it'll be hard to top this in the future, I just don't want to talk too much even if I'm working on a full document praising this song, but I love you all, thanks for the actual peak of FNF's modding abilities, you delivered everything that we could have ever asked for, and I wish you all a bright future, we will always remember this, at least I'll do. Actually the cartridge was a SMB1 one, as seen in the beginning cutscene. My guess is that Ultra M can control the 'Mario universe' itself or something like that

This had sounded and felt so amazing the first time I played it. I loved how it feels like a finale/triple trouble situation where everything is breaking down and it's the final battle with Ultra. A part of me wishes that Sturm (churgney gurgney) had some part of this just for it to be even more epic, but it's still really good!
This is probably an unpopular opinion but personally, the intro (0:03 - 0:28) has gotta be the best part. Way to start things off with a bang!
