Awesome!!! Thank you so much for sharing this video. I never knew that this cover can be split to check its internal mechanism. It helped me discover some other reason for not working, and I was able to fix it. Now working perfectly!!!
This video was completely helpful. I was able to repair the blender top and you saved me 39.99, which I would have had to spend for a new Ninja lid! Thank you so much!
Life saver. My release button broke and didn’t know what to do. I didn’t want to break the top so I looked on UA-cam (which I do for all my repairs) and found your video. It’s fixed now thanks.
Very helpful video. Allowed me to open the lead without breaking it. Actually very easy if you know where to pull, which you show in your video. Yours was a different issue but I think most of the people (me included) face a design flow on the pusher. The slider has two guide rods that go on a hole each. But they designed them 1mm too short so the rods can actually slide out of the hole when the button is fully depressed! Which means that when you press, the rod may not go back in and "fight"/stack the push of the button. I did patch it by limiting the excursion of the pusher/slider when depressed, but a redesign would help...
Hi there all the way from mexico! i took my lid apart because ants basically decide that this is was their new home, quite clever though because as soon as i wash it within minutes they find their way inside again, anyways, i suspected MOLD inside because while i was shaking the lid to get the ants out black gunge kept coming out so i opened it and a spring flew out which i have absolutely no idea where it came from but it looks like they either left it there by accident or it’s an extra because all 4 springs were in place so till this day i literally have no idea where it came from 😅and i re-assembled the lid which is working perfectly WITHOUT mold but i couldn’t have done it without your video. thank you 🎉
@@doggovision8765 That's ok. I got a replacement; however, the new handle would not close completely. This caused the the Ninja power button to flash and not operate. Thanks to your highly instructive video, I was able to replace the new handle with the old, and now it work! I wouldn't have had a clue on what to do without your video. Thanks a lot!
I've been setting boxes of potatoes or bags of onions on my Ninja at work so I don't have to lean on it constantly while I could be doing other things in the kitchen, and it drives me crazy. I'll be attempting this repair tomorrow in my down time and hopefully I get the same results as you did. Thanks so much for the video. You may have just saved many lives with this simple fix! Nothing worse than an angry chef.
Thanks for the comment. Hope it works for you. Take those potatoes and onions off the top and drop them inside. Call me when the hash browns are ready.
Thanks! This video was exactly what I needed. The lock for the lid broke after only 3 months. Maybe putting it in the dishwasher didn't do it any good, saw that there are some grease/lubrications in there so maybe the heat from the water in the dishwasher wore it off after a while.. After some trial and errors now I got it working again, for me the springs was still kind of good but the button didn't retract fully. After removing the two springs pushing up the release button it works again.
Great video. I have a newer style lid and this was very helpful. I was trying to figure out why my lid was rattling. One of the hinge pins for the handle fell out. great chance to clean inside.
I just got a BL494 to replace our older model (stripped planetary gears. No replacement parts anywhere). This method works on the new style lid too. The clips around the button portion are quite difficult to pry apart. I used a pocket knife and pried while my fingers were pushing the other side of the lid apart.
I had taken mine apart to clean with boiling water dish soap and vinegar, after taking the parts out of the sink, I found two stainless steel L shaped pins in the water, watching this disassembly video, I knew they were the pins that hold the lift handle in place.
Awesome!!!

Very nice video. I need a video to replace the shaft bushing at the base of the blend containers. Mine leaks from wear.
Thanks for watching. Wish I could help you but I haven't had that issue . Yet.
Great video! Thanks for the tutorial! Got the blender for free cause of the lid problem 👍👍👍
Very cool! Got to find me a deal like that. So glad it helped.
Just repaired ours. My wife was wanting to get another blender so I took a look and it wouldn't close. Used 2 pen springs and stretched them. Thanks.

Thanks for the comment. Those lids do get nasty inside. Boiling water and vinegar sounds like a great way to clean them up.
Great video. Thank you for the help.
Really glad it helped you.

Thank you! Fixed my issue!

What if the lid is burnt?
I guess you may have to buy a new one. Might still be worth taking apart though. Good luck and thanks for viewing and commenting.
Why would they make the lid so complicated?
That's a good question. I guess they over engineered it so you would have to buy a new one when this happens.
@@doggovision8765 the same programed obsolescence of new cars....
