You are an absolute legend!!! Worked perfectly! Took me about 3 rounds of hot water and really turning it but eventually it went, all the brown gunk came out. Now spinning freely. Thank you!!!
Thank you SJ for sharing this ingenious!! my blender was smelling like it was burning and the blade would not spin at all. I didn't want to buy a new one since it looked in good condition still. I'm so glad I found this video. It took me 10 minutes and the blade is spinning again. I'm so happy I didn't have to throw it away.
You saved dinner! Definitely not going to be a long term solution, but with a full blender and dinner half done on the stove, this really came through! Thanks!
What an ingenious solution! I followed the video instructions by mixing equal parts white vinegar and water to create a rust removal solution. After boiling it up, I applied it as demonstrated in the video. Additionally, using the base motor of the ninja blender to spin the blade for more than 10 seconds effectively removed all the rust. Make sure to add some water before closing the lid and placing it in the base motor. Press the pulse button and hold it for 15 to 20 seconds to break up the rust, repeating this process several times as shown in the video. You'll notice all the rust coming out, and the blade will become easy to turn. Thank you so much for this awesome video instruction!
I'd like to report this also worked for me! Blades were probably gunked up and the hot water melted it and now blades are spinning very nicely. Thanks a million!
Thank you SJ! My same ninja blender started smelling a few smoothies ago and so I was on the market for a new one until I watched this video. Fast forward 20 min and it's almost brand new. Thank you so much! Cheers.
This was amazing thank you ! I have the food processor with the smoothie attachment and just put boiled water in the blender quatre full and blended it 5 or 6 times spilling the water and repeating and that solved the issue i could see tiny bits in the water and now it spins free like new
Worked perfectly for me. Took about six or seven applications of water to completely clean an almost completely stuck blade. The water turned brown. I wore a rubber glove and used a cloth to turn the fins to avoid burning myself. Having one of those kettles that keeps the water boiled also helped.
This helped at first and then made it worse. I grabbed a wooden spoon and started tapping/ smacking that part though. After about 8 times it was good to go
Wow! I followed this video exactly and after the third time the blades are moving freely and my blender was no longer smoking. However, when I then tested the blender with just plain cold water, the blades moving very freely now, you would not believe what color the water turned! Jet Black! I tried it a second time. Jet Black water again!! I either need a blade replacement or might it be the Ninja base motor?? Any ideas out there? Please try using just plain cold water before you make your next smoothie to be sure you're not getting all these gunky chemicals.
I would recommend using an oil lubricant, I tried this method and it helped, but then I added beard trimmer oil and it started free spinning after I worked it in, stuff needs lubricant and the water could actually cause delubrication after it breaks down the gunk
My blade seems to spin just fine while just having water only. But if I go to mixing a smoothie, it doesn't work. In addition, there seems to be a half second to full second delay in the start of the actual blades from spinning
I binned the whole machine because I thought the motor had burned out. Now I'm wondering. I kept the old blade and it is stiff. I'll try this fix. I bought the cheaper Ninja blender.

you just may need to repeat the process every now and then specially if the content you mix is thick or the jar is overloaded
This works! Thank you for saving us having to buy a new blade.

That brown stuff is RUST I wouldn’t use it again. Rust was spitting out everywhere
I tried this ! my ninja blender blade is really bad. So bad that I NEED to replace it - the little ball bearings have come out it’s torn to shreds 🫤
