Great watch lads. You have my upmost respect for not sugarcoating this trip. When you’ve been hunting long enough you’re gonna have situations that are less than ideal and I think you lads handled it beautifully. Keep doing what you’re doing
Thanks mate, we always try to give an honest representation of what really happens in the hills. Glad it's being received well, we weren't too sure about this one. Definitely something we'll take every step we can to avoid doing again, can't always get it right!
Great vid lads, once again. The chap with concussion made a good decision not to fire the round with a faulty bolt, better than his decision to go out hunting in the first place! 😅 Shithot, thanks for posting!
It's fair enough, you try for the best shot each time, but have to accept some won't be good. As you say, own your mistakes, do the right thing by the animal, learn the lessons. Great trip boys, the footage always knocks me out.
Awesome guys. Great jog finding that wounded animal and showing it as it is (good ones and not-so-good ones). Kudos from the other side of the world! Thanks for sharing.
I really appreciated your honesty by reminding all of us who hunt just how easy it is to make a bad shot. You did the right thing by tracking the animal. From across the ditch, well done guys, another great video.
My partner has been hunting for over 40 years, he says good on you for letting the hinds and fawns go. He watches a few of your videos and he's impressed with your attitude to hunting. You're not a trigger happy bunch or blowhards lol (his words) Keep doing what you do 😊
+1 for keeping it authentic and owning it, and the resolve to keep getting better. (And the choice to not shoot one of the deer on the tops after the work of the steep climb validates your aspirations around good ethics)
Great video guys. Glad you chose to put it up as that is hunting sometimes. Nobody likes it and we feel bad but thats how we learn. Keep the awesome videos coming.
Hey mate, the marmot tungsten UL. It's been pretty dam reliable over the years, we've never had it out in a full blown storm but it's definitely been exposed to a few rough nights and survived them! Pays to take the extra time finding sheltered sites and securing it down 👌
Nice lads, just the way it goes sometimes with the shooting and anyone who doesn't understand that hasn't shot enough deer IMO. What ended up being the culprit with the rifle fault? Normally when the bolt won't close like that its one of two things, the bolt wasn't re assembled quite right or the headspace on your ammunition is too tight. Good stuff
Unfortunately you're right mate! Yeah we're not too sure, they're reloads which have probably been shot a couple times. We're guessing the brass swelled, the annoyingly loaded fine a couple weeks later!
Excellent work on having the courage to show the honest portrayal of what happens to all hunters at one time or another when a shot goes wrong and our responsibilities on how we should make all possible attempts to follow-up. Keep the great content coming.
I swapped ammo in my 308 years ago and couldn't close the bolt on the new brand. Swapped back to original and no issues. Did you have a different brand of ammo?

lessons learned. always check the handloaded rounds you are going to take on a trip, that they will work in the action BEFORE you go. I've been there.
Another great vid fellas. I think you did the right thing leaving it in. It’s real. It happens. But you got it in the end. Well done.
Thanks mate

Shithot, thanks for posting!
Cheers mate! Yeah we didn't quite know how bad his head really was!
Beaut country and good on you for the honesty, keep em coming lads
Pretty epic country alright! Cheers mate 🍻

Too right, definitely not a situation we want to find ourselves in again but it doesn't always go to plan! Thanks for the support mate 🍻
Great vid!

Thanks mate! Would've been a different feeling coming home if we hadn't

Thanks mate, as much as we all want to avoid it mistakes happen! Cheers for the support

Sure does mate, happy to come away with some venison for the families!
Wet boots and short pants …, no thanks mate
Got to have dry boots and socks
You Kiwi’s tuff man
Good mates looking out for one another to change the trip to what everyone could manage.
Gotta have each other's backs out there!

Thanks for the support mate
Great vid Boys - What beautiful country. Hard work but truly Beautiful.
I am not a hunter but I think you were very respectful to the animals.
Thanks mate, it's the way we were raised and it's what we'll try and pass on to anyone watching 👌
Top effort once again guys, great watch and great sportsmanship leaving those hinds.
Cheers mate!
Great video guys. Glad you chose to put it up as that is hunting sometimes. Nobody likes it and we feel bad but thats how we learn.
Keep the awesome videos coming.
Cheers mate, hopefully people can learn from us and take the right steps to avoid doing it themselves!
Meke vid lads, enjoyed it. Ouch, yeah nah, sounds sore my bro. Great way to spend the weekend tho
Haven't seen sandy struggle so much in the hills before, definitely won't mess around with a concussion again! Lucked out with the weather
@@southislandriflewalkers5545 hopefully there's not too many lingering after effects. It's a long road to recover fully. Chur whanau
Beautiful country that there guys
What sort of tent are you boys running? In the market for a 2-man 3-4 season tent and keen to get one thats battle tested

Nice one boys 👍

Cheers mate, it's important to show the reality of how things can go sometimes! Easier to learn a lesson off someone else than do it yourself!
I swapped ammo in my 308 years ago and couldn't close the bolt on the new brand. Swapped back to original and no issues. Did you have a different brand of ammo?
Interesting! Nah they're the same reloads we've always put through it- not really sure what went wrong with it to be honest!
I'd have the guy who made the ammo check the tolerances clearly he was off his game that day 😁
Fantastic video boys. Well done for sharing the reality, it happens. Well edited and enjoyable to watch, cheers.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. Can't get it right every time unfortunately!
Fair play boys, shoot enough animals and it happens eventaully, we've all been there. Well done for showing it
Unfortunately you're right, definitely want to take any steps we can to avoid doing it again!
bad shooting lads
You're not wrong!
Legends🙌🤙
poorly sized brass , or someone elses reloads?
Not too sure, they're the same reloads we've always put through it. A few weeks later they fed fine as well, must of swollen in the pack or the sun
