Really enjoyed the banter and fun you guys are having
Love the vid, and btw. you never rest on the barrel, as it will change the shot and make you miss 10/10 times, specially on longer shots. ;)
I wish I'd remembered that in the moment! Hahah if you ever needed proof here it is 😅
Yea that barrel on the timber, wat a bugger

As good a hunting film as you'd find anywhere, wicked content fellas. Jealous aussie here envious of your incredible terrain, but geez it looks bloody hard going!
Thanks for the nice comment mate! We're bloody lucky over here 🍻
Great stuff lads! Awesome video 🤙
Awesome video guys! Great editing.
Awesome adventure, massive packs and big ups for pushing yourself so much.
Great vid once again. Big effort carrying those big packs over that terrain. Great to still see a few animals left in the hills
Still a few animals in the hills? most places are so over-run even the majority of khunters can't fail on public land. It doesn't make the outdoors a better place.
Great video like always, AMAZING footage looked super fun well done on the 10K! Can't wait for all the new videos. cheers
Thank you! We've got a couple big ones coming out soon, can't wait to share them!
Thanks fellas, very entertaining, you guys are making memories together you will never forget, great mates great times etc,
Keep it up guys I look forward to your next adventure 👍
Thanks mate! That's half the reason we film the trips nowadays, will be great to look back on when we can't make it up the hills anymore 👌
Great to see some pines pulled and cut. Top vid
Would hate to see that country get covered in them! Some of the surrounding peaks to the north looked covered in the bastards. Massive job to clear it all...
good to see young men have great fun in the bush
Solid trip, tough country. Love your videos, favorite channel for sure👍👍
You're too kind mate, cheers!
another awesome vid guys! inspiring! keep them coming, hot barrels and 40inch 12s for the roar!
Thanks mate! Here's hoping, that's the dream! Right back at ya 🍻
Awesome place up there, wicked vid guys
Excellent camo gear. Almost as good as a gecko
Awesome work team. As always putting in the hard yards and earning the results. Good entertainment! Keep them coming. Probably late but congratulations on 10K 👍👍
Thanks mate!
Another beauty watch boys...good mates..good times! Onya!
Can't have a bad time in the hills with good mates around!
Nice work guys!
Unreal footage guys awesome adventure...thank you
Cheers!
real nice edit . . . thanks for sharing team (plenty of good laughs too!)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it 🍻
Solid effort lads, enjoyed watching your journey 👌🏼🤙🏽
Thanks mate!
Awesome video and hunting adventures. Food for thought: One thing I’ve learned hunting in the Germanic countries is the protection of mother animals; regardless of the species. It’s actually a written law. Shooting a sow that is still nursing piglets for example, especially when done intentionally is not only considered unethical, but against the law. I fully understand that hogs are a nuisance in most areas of the world and in many areas it’s common practice to shoot every one you can, but taking out a mother will usually mean the young will suffer and die. I’m not trying to preach or criticize, but rather share a lesson that I, as an American learned in Germany. Happy hunting 🍻!
Cheers mate. Yeah that's understandable, it's something we try and avoid. As you say, pigs are a horrible pest over here that cause a heap of damage!
@@southislandriflewalkers5545 Lets hope you never cruelly deprive any rats, cockroaches etc from their beloved mummy. But don't hesitate to drop any female wild mammal pests if any credibility to the myth rec hunters contribute anything meaningful to indigenous ecological protection is expected.
Great adventure in awesome country, hard yards put in as well as rubbish weather,
all in good spirits, well done.
Fantastic quality video and well done with the drone shots.
Even good cooks with perfect backsteak colour and plenty of veges., would`nt want to carry your packs though.
Keep up the good work, great memories for you guys when you get old like me.
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it! Too right, got to do it whilst we can!
What a great adventure. You young fellas do a great job on your hunts, a little heart stopping at times traversing some of that terrain, you all got big balls. Look forward to your next trip. By the way, that missed shot on the chamois from the hut, never put pressure on the barrel, especially hard surface like wood or rock, as it puts the barrel harmonics way out of whack, that is why quality rifles have free floating barrels, had you put the stock on the wooden rest, I reckon you might have got a hit. Great stuff guys, keep up the great vids.
Hahah cheers mate, we were pretty happy to be on flat ground afterwards. Yeah a lesson I shouldn't have to learn again!
Another awesome video team mean. My knees are hurting just by looking at your packs
Hahah cheers! Definitely felt this one for a while
Outdone yourselves with this vid boys. 10/10
🍻
Awesome video guys, congrats on the 10k subs.
Cheers!
Awesome video guys, congrats as well👍🏻
🍻
Another great vid ! Awesome entertainment
great video lads, we are so lucky to live in the SI of NZ
Too right mate, so much to explore!
Good stuff keen to get on some missions like this
super nice guys. love seeing your films also what was the name of the hut you guys stayed at ?
Great stuff, guys. Please don't wait until there's a problem to switch to safer routes though? Couple places there looking real sketchy, especially with the wind and heavy packs.
Cheers for your concern mate! We were definitely monitoring the situation as we were climbing. Had a few backup plans it it got a too sketchy!
awsome vid. the land looks fantastic. hope to get a hunting trip to new zeland in my future.
You won't regret it 👌
a great vid love you guys from south Idaho USA
Epic to see the video getting out there! Cheers!
Awesome; cool channel. Thanks guys.
Awesome video as always! Watching from Sweden. Quite different hunting i NZ and here in Sweden. 😅
🇸🇪🇳🇿🍻
Loved the Lost Crew shirt making the outing, would have smelt by the end?
Probably still does too!
At least you 3 got a deer each choice hunt bros loved it
Bloody awesome 👍
What a mission! Hope the weather lets you into the west coast for a future one. Needs a few people with some strong legs and a good attitude to get up there and control the numbers a bit...
So do we! There's nothing quite like the west coast, can't wait to get back in there 👌
@@southislandriflewalkers5545 I was up the lambert tops a month ago, rugged as hell and seems like the animals didn't usually see people... All that central westland vertfest will be right up your alley
Shithot lads, nothing like I bit of banter as well. Old Mitch the mustering maestro!!
Hahah I'd love to claim it was planned 😂
Nice work lads epic 💪
Top effort lads 😎😎😎 what brand was that wee blue knife steel?
Epic mission
Good effort guy's
How much weight in those packs lads? Looks rough.
Not entirely sure, probably somewhere around 40kgs by the end of it! The freezers are still looking healthy 👌
great shot mitch
Which one 😂
very funny
Good shit lads 🤙🏻
Gold!
mint vid you lot nice one
Yet another bloody awesome video. Well done guys!!! I would be interested in buying a couple of t shirts. Please let me know how to order. Thanks
Thanks mate! Legend, give us an email at SIRiflewalkers@gmail.com or flick us a message on Facebook or Instagram and we'll get an order in for you
as allways epic video ! :D
At 2:09 looks like you are about to arrive at the hut at the Nina { NZDSA}hut
great video lads but i would like to ask a question about your packs are you using the tatonka bison 75L+10 or the 90L+10
On this trip we used the 90 + 10, for most hunts bigger than a weekend trip we use them 👍
Great film, lads. Epic adventure. Great laughs. Hope you didn't eat that bit of your finger 😬
Would've made for a chewy rissoto 😂
Awesome video. Enjoyed the longer film.
Even resting the stock directly on a hard surface will make the rifle shoot away from said hard surface. The barrel more so.
Good to hear! Yeah it's a lesson I had drummed into me growing up as well, think I got a bit lost in the moment!
@@southislandriflewalkers5545 I like that you put that stuff in. We all do it!
The technical factual interpretation (plenty of self confessed experts repeat disinformation, even on/in media) of that would be interesting. It has been used successfully by some, holding the stock rock steady. Having these incidents in the presentation makes them real.
@@johnmead8437 Harmonics is the black magic of marksmanship. But it is quite well understood.
If you rest the barrel on something, that becomes your bedding point. You would need to re-zero the rifle, but it might shoot OK.
Hard hold vs free recoil, that's another discussion entirely. Personally it depends on the rifle and the shooting position, I do both. It doesn't really matter.
@@FREDDAGGS Yes that's right about avoiding barrel touching a hard surface, re-zeroing would require a consistent rest etc available so not an option. Resting the stock (not the barrel) on something hard has been ok though, perhaps this might differ if barrel isn't floated. Something soft is much preferred, in the field it's usually what's closest or the best for the situation & any personal preference.
great trip, great film production and editing. New Zealand gives a lot of opportunities, enjoy it guys because here in Europe there is no such freedom with hunting and exploring the area. by the way, what caliber and type of weapon (light or varmint) do you use or recommend for such an expedition?
Thanks mate, kind words. We're bloody lucky over here!
For our big game trips we take a .308 or .300 rem mag.
For smaller game I'd suggest a .22 or .17 hmr
@@southislandriflewalkers5545 here in EU 308win and 30-06Sprinfind, 300Mag not usable because, you will not belive me, but we are allowed to shoot no longer then 200m according to formal rules, this rules forces us to a lot of paper works after every sucesfull hunting too.
@@southislandriflewalkers5545 in general, in the EU there are completely different rules, public land is divided into small areas, each area is leased to a group of several dozen hunters called a circle or a club. Such a club is obliged to pay compensation to farmers for damage to crops by wild animals, and it is also obliged to regulate the animal population according to a top-down plan. The financial inflows to the club come from commercial hunting, game acquired for game purchase or payments from hunters who take the game for their own use. That is why the hunter works a lot as an aid to the farmer and builds infrastructure for effective hunting around farmlands. We also hunt wild boar, or rather mainly at night with night vision and thermal imaging, ASF is spreading and the wild boar population is being reduced. Shooting a bull deer is a big expense for the average hunter. And so far from nature it all takes place. Each piece of animal is a lot of papers for hunting, buying, hunting clubs, district board - the head hurts, and when I watch your videos, I start wondering where I live??? How it is in NZ? Can I come and hunt on my own? DO I need any paper every sucesfull hunt?
@@andrzejszczepanik1770 As far as I know in NZ all you need is a firearms licence and a permit to hunt off public land which you can just download free. After that you are free to roam. No bag limits, no seasons, no paperwork and no requirement to take the meat even. All our game animals are introduced non native and have no natural predators thus they are considered a pest that needs management. Such a great resource.
