I had an S2000 for a year, then I had to buy a truck, but Honda should have never discontinued this roadster , it would have became an Icon for Honda , evolving as the Miata, and 350Z, and the Supra have, I loved driving it, a light car with 240HP, and silky manual trans
It is already an Icon for Honda. And they will bring it back. Most Japanese sports cars end at some point and comeback after a few years such as the RX-7, Supra, Skyline/GTR, etc.
if it is an EV, it is doomed to fail !!!! No one that ever had an S2000 would want or accept an EV. EVs will have a short life anyway, after their true pollution and use of rare minerals are exposed. The new car should be geared toward power and handling and not high tech blue tooth type crap. We want a fun car, not a 3000 pound computer. As before, make them all 6 speed. It should be at least 350 hp, but 380 to 400 would be best. Expectations are high, because anyone that ever had one, knows this is the greatest sports car ever made. Be smarter than Nissan, do not even make automatic, and certainly do not make your best car in automatic only.
I have a 2007 AP2 and love it. Hopefully, Honda will put at least 350-400 HP in it along with all of the new technology. The design should be sleek and light. The price should be kept below $60,000 for the premium model.
Even if it’s everything people dreamed of it’s gonna be untouchable after dealership’s get their grubby hands on it and put that mark up to 100K or more.
I am excited to see the s2000 coming back but it doesn't need to be as complicated as you might think, hopefully someone or if not honda has already done it and put the 2023 civic type r engine into the s2000 chassis and work around it like that, it's cheaper to make like this and all they'll have to do essentially is work on the handling and weight distribution. There is plenty of aftermarket support for the s2000 so making it look newer isn't an issue but for honda, keep what people already love and simply give it a facelift, I've seen a few s2000's that have been k-swapped and hear good things about that. If this is going to be the last petrol s2000 then let it be great, think of it as an s2000 type r with all the power it needs with the handling people liked, again using what is already around is more cost effective.
2000 cc, no turbo. rear traction, manual, electric motor to help with the torque. Must me light, simple, bigger (I barely fit in my ap1). Under 70k. 2 versions. The first s2000. The other s2000 type r. The reference has to be Porsche 911 s/t
He also said 100k. They don't even put that on nsx. They experiments v10 s2000. That's back in 2009 when automaker was trying to be the best base on economics and our time that will never happen.
S 2000 has TWO reputations One for being fast insanely fun to drive and Two for being way to easy to wad up or wrap around a tree somewhere....whereas the significantly lower powered MX-5 only has one of these reputations
I don t need a +120hp car. If it looks tiny and sporty, it will make my heart beat faster. Let kei cars come to Belgium! Low weight, tiny, less then 100hp, sounds like a dream
Unless the S2000 is a "light truck" it will not be subject to the 1964 chicken tax. Honda made the original S2000 with no help from GM at all. I don't think there will be any need this time either.
No, I do not think you should bring back the S2000! I think you should hot rod the Honda Accord coup, put a great engine in it with the options of either Auto Trans or a 6 Speed. Honda would then be in the sports car that people really want. Thanks for the video!!
Even fucking Honda can stay true to the S2000 legacy and not fuck it up... But Toyota... Toyota just HAD TO do a major fuck up on not only one of the most legendary car ever made but also on one of the most legendary engines ever made. They just HAD TO partner with BMW for the new Supra and they just HAD TO ruin the one thing that made Supra, a Supra; The fucking engine! To not engineer and manufacture a new 3JZ and instead put in a dogshit, modern bullshit BMW engine into that car was a mortal sin...
Why don't they just take the old motor build it up alittle and turbo it....... then it will be a s2000. If they take a civic motor it will just ne a delsol with a swap
Hope S2000 will be Turbocharged Engine based on Type-R engine not Hybrid like New Nsx,The model must be pretend what S2000 based on not like New Nsx loosing the Soul
IT BETTER NOT HAVE THAT NEW E-BRAKE SYSTEM THATS ALL THIS OTHER NEW CIVIC'S HAVE... ITS GOTTA BE LIKE THE OLD S2000 E-BRAKE !!!!!! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
EV are not environmental friendly and will never be sustainable. No EV S2000 as the experience is the motor feel, sound, and excelleration by the driver.
Not using a Honda ENGINE would be a travesty, sometimes I forget I have a radio because I'm just listening to my k24
This needs to be pure Honda, and don't Supra it.
I had an S2000 for a year, then I had to buy a truck, but Honda should have never discontinued this roadster , it would have became an Icon for Honda , evolving as the Miata, and 350Z, and the Supra have, I loved driving it, a light car with 240HP, and silky manual trans

Good thinking, if only Honda had your business sense dang
Honda better not drop the ball like they did with the new Integra...
Or the NsX
New ???
IF ELECTRIC..NOT INTERESTED

Agreed, although a four cylinder with Miata power and price would also be great.
Stick of course.
The ONLY way I would accept this as an ev over my ap1 is if its combustion as well.
I heard it will contain a K48 in it
326 bhp...
I would take 250HP at the wheels and a nicely tuned NA engine with the manual transmission, rwd only.
Johnny Tran is coming back from his grave....
I had a 2000 s2k. That car was a dream car that came to fruition. Miss that car.
i’m considering getting one. Why’d you sell yours?
Nsx

this is no longer the S2000..
It’s the S20000
@@1badEKnah s3000
Ap1 s2k one owner only and fully stock. Never raced and just daily drive. Im just happy its price keeps appreciating
I had an AP1 S2000 and the best driving experience but I draw the line at The idea of that great car having an EV version. I want that turbo lol
It would be cool if it was all wheel drive
Bring back the RSX.
Integra is already made
@@crxtreme69 link?
Even if it’s everything people dreamed of it’s gonna be untouchable after dealership’s get their grubby hands on it and put that mark up to 100K or more.
If they make it electric, it will fail. Have fun charging and being leashed
So if they team with GM will it be a mini c7 ? Or a mini c8
This was the equivalent of patiently waiting for a humanoid robot to fart in my face
New S2000 6-speed manual please... If not Miata is always the answer.

A K40 4.0L, v8, 9000rpm, 500hp ,3200 pound s4000 is what want! If they price it under 100k it would sell like hot pancakes.
A V8 Honda is likely not happening. We're more likely to see an F24C, if we're being realistic.
He also said 100k. They don't even put that on nsx. They experiments v10 s2000. That's back in 2009 when automaker was trying to be the best base on economics and our time that will never happen.
Worst mistake they could make is making this electric!
Comparing a Miata to an s2000 is like comparing a G shock to a Rolex
Please no negative camber
It herts my eyes
S 2000 has TWO reputations One for being fast insanely fun to drive and Two for being way to easy to wad up or wrap around a tree somewhere....whereas the significantly lower powered MX-5 only has one of these reputations

Rwd and 6speed naturally
Why i own a AP1 and AP2 for the NA gas powered engine. Pure man and machine. Not a pipe dream.
ICE is a must, a hybrid would be acceptable to bring the model back, but an all electric S2000 is not an S2000.
When I saw the picture Honda del sol came to mind.
Hopefully they don’t install turbo which will require lots of maintenance. Reliability would be compromised
I need a new one NOW so let's get going Honda!
Agree. I'll send them an email.
Going to be sick
Price?
Unless the S2000 is a "light truck" it will not be subject to the 1964 chicken tax. Honda made the original S2000 with no help from GM at all. I don't think there will be any need this time either.
Why don't they just use the f22 or f20 and just turbo it😒.
„turbo charged“ that’s not an S2000😂
I would love honda to built a 3 cylinder motor like Toyota GR....with 300 hp.
What is the bumper in the thumbnail? I need it. I have the CR front bumper and rear wing. I will trade for that.😮

If it’s electric I’m going back to 2009
YEAH YEAH HELL YEAH IT ISNT ELECTREIC i hope the new
prellude has an engine too
„electric motor“ even less an S2000 than a „turbo charged“ one.
We should’ve stayed in the past

If it's gonna be electric, just call it something else.
if it’s going to be EV than it’s going to be trash
No way Honda teams with GM. If they want to skip out on import tax, then they would have Honda America build it in Ohio or the other US plants.
Ima roll in the grave for eternity if the s2000 isn’t a combustion engine so don’t mess up Honda my peace depends on your decision😂
HONDA partnering with GM will be TRASH.
Don’t believe the prognosis will be good if electric.
No v6? Jseries supercharged
Why don't they just take the old motor build it up alittle and turbo it....... then it will be a s2000. If they take a civic motor it will just ne a delsol with a swap

How the fuck can honda constantly keep remaking cars that aren't the cars that aren't the cars people remember??
