    They bring justice to this Robocop..give it a life chance as human. The family life connection that was never been in the original robocop. And bring him up as a hero. This robocop not a comparison for the original. He deserve to get what he doesn,t get from the original. Give him the independence his life. The original stay great as a legacy due to the premise. But this one sets a new dimension.

      TF! truth is, I felt sad for this robocop bat or whatever. Because he knew right away what he was and thought he was wearing a suit. When they tear him apart, i was like they should just kill and it's over. The original one was freaking badass because he look way too cool and acting was fantastic. They erased his memories and he had to regain his identity through the film. That right there made it awesome.

    They make a reboot to make it alive again. Not to make it comparing between the original and the reboot. Well successful movie has many critic like transformers so make your decision. This is just my opinion

    • @MasterMacLeod
      @MasterMacLeod 10 років тому +5

      So you think just because transformers made a lot of buck make the series any good? GTFO

    • @mitzvincentgalang7264

      Of course they need money. What do you expect. The transformers movie is good. Why hate?. I watch the movie RoboCop in the mall. There was a super long line there. You know what they gonna watch? RoboCop. How I know? Well is asked some of them and when you look at the reserved sit is freak in full in imax even in 2d they were full. I hate the people there they talk to much (the one the sitting beside us). Well I guess not all people agreed and affected by UA-cam comments.

    • @MasterMacLeod
      @MasterMacLeod 10 років тому

      The fact there's a long line of hormonal teenagers waiting for their chance doesn't make the movies any good. Bay's Transformers are a travesty, and that's the bottom line.

    • @Vaporvice84
      @Vaporvice84 9 років тому

      This is my video that I let my brother post on his channel. I originally wanted to do that, but I couldn't simply remove the frames with the guy on the tv talking. Plus there's a very abrupt cut after the initial punch, then it goes to the nightclub scene. So It simply didn't "flow" well. If I had any animation skills, I would've altered that shot and kept that in.

    The world doesn't need remakes like this... it attacks and kills our nostalgic memories and feelings about our beloved "old" movies... make real sequels which are told in the same style and genre that the originals created - or leave it! This here is the same remake nonsense like "Total Recall", "Dredd" and countless other new "reboot" productions in the last years which only show how less feeling for films and filmmaking you have, dear remake film producers! The world audience and fans can only stop that by never watching such stuff! At least, I'll never watch that... watch and buy only the original!

    • @Johnlindsey289
      @Johnlindsey289 10 років тому +1

      Dredd is NOT a "remake", it's a separate film and a separate adaptation of the comic books that have nothing to do with the Stallone abortion from 1995. I bet you didn't know the 2 Dredd movies are based on comics. To me a remake is when it's based on a truly original film and an original screenplay as if it says "based on a screenplay by" then it's a remake, Dredd is a re-adaptation of the European comic books and is a separate film. it would be like saying Nolan's Batman movies are "remakes" of Burton's Batman movies, NOPE all very different from each other and have nothing to do with each other and little in common

    • @bernddotzer1717
      @bernddotzer1717 10 років тому +1

      Hi, well, my English is not the best so it's not easy to write exactly what I mean, my theme in this post is that the studios are more and more re-using old films and their stories in a new outfit and no real sequels (telling further stories of the once established film characters in the established style), and that they should make if not sequels then completely new franchises. Having new ideas, you know? Not filling the cinemas with film stories long ago told before. In Germany here - a cinema owner has to book for 3 weeks a film if he wants to have it in the national wide start, which means that cinemas with 2 or 3 theatres only have big studio blockbuster productions in their programme and no variety of films, there is no space for them to show other films. And it's boring to see so numerous "re-told" or "differnt told" or "re-maked" stories in our cinema programme. That re-making filmmaking mentality of the studios kills cinema variety. With the new "Dredd" film it's the same - even if more close to the comics - is not telling more than the first one. It's more blood, but about the identic main character with a similar outfit in the same environment, and it is even more a simpler plot (this only big building) and not as epic ... so I call it a remake (I understand your view that this is no remake from your point of view because closer to the comic - as I have my point), it gives not really more story, character, deepness, love or fun. It's only more blood, action & special effects because nowadays it's possible to do more of it in a greater scale. And that is my critics. The story has already been told with the first film(s). Bring such heartless Conan / Total Recall / Dredd "again told stories" on blu-ray... but not in cinemas, there are much better films which deserve this special place of culture! For example this, best acting work of the year I think, they are going as close as possible to a border where a serious actor can go ... but only visible in some cinemas because there is no theatre space for this because of the studio/cinema contracts and big studios advertising budget... you will nothing find produced by US studios which compares to this achievement - an experience staying much longer in your mind than any of these new "old stories re-telling films". Fear that they will cut it in some countries. Try it :)

      Bernd Dötzer The Idea, I think you wanted to get out, with this comment, could probably be summed up very simple. These studios need to stop redoing old ideas and start coming up with new fresh ideas. Otherwise they are just boring. "New & interesting" will always do better than all else. I have been getting pretty tired of these "reboots" as well as these crap films that have been produced lately. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO ORIGINALITY?

    • @YonnySix1Six
      @YonnySix1Six 10 років тому +3

      It kills your nostalgic memories? How? That is literally the dumbest thing ever. Does your copy of the original RoboCop, Judge Dredd, Total Recall get corrupted? Also Dredd is way better than that piss poor Stalone one. True Grit was a great remake, so was The Departed. The fact that you don't want a new direction, even if it could be good, shows you know nothing. Having the same shit over and over gets stale and can only be done for so long. Also a Reboot is different than a remake. The new Robocop is a reboot, not a remake.

    If you don't mind about the fan boys, go for it!
    Is the movie a total different conception? Yes, it is. But I can't understand people who think that they would remake a film exactly as it was almost 30 years ago.
    This is not about what we felt in 1987 anymore, this is about what we feel now!!!
    Robocop 2014 is a fresh ideia about modern technology (almost all concepts of the film are a few steps away from us). It's also a modern view of the geopolitc scenary.
    They talk about the cultural fear created to puppet the mass. Wow, guys, it's fantastic! Yes it does not have blood, but let me tell you, a movie does not need blood to freak you, otherwise you are a teenager.
    For me the psycological line was at the same level of the first movie. Here they only change the focus in the soul to the conciousness, and belive me, it works very well in the story.
    Go ahead, lose this movie. because the fan boys. You will help a legion of pseudo-nerds being happy with their fantastic knowledge of useless things.
    And if you are undecided yet, open the link below (SPOILER)

    and also for the ones that are saying that it kills nostalgic memories sorry but what the heck are you talking about sure there are movies that are worse then the original but come on it wil not kill your memories and feelings for the first one with this movie they are trying to keep the story as it was sure i love the first original but i,m also happy that they are remaking it while it stays true to the original so watch first before you are gonna whine like a baby saying your memories are tainted if that happens it just means you are not a true fan of robocop

    • @Purify94
      @Purify94 10 років тому +1

      SolidMike84 Agree.Now there is much symbolism connected with human struggling and dominating over machine so they saw it fit to make this reboot.I really like how they made the original ones so violent in a Tim Burton like atmosphere and i find it so stupid that now Murphy suffered of burning.I prefer in the original with countless bullet holes.And as in Screen Junkies was said,Robocop has no family.He has to deal with their loss....Even though i understand that the movie makers want to send an important message about family that way.Also,when robocop got beaten i really felt sad and sorry for him.I haven't watched this one so i dunno what it's gonna be.

    • @SolidMike84
      @SolidMike84 10 років тому +1

      Purify
      Regardless of the remake being good or bad, it'll light up the original one and make younger or older be like: "There's an original? I'll give it a watch." and the company will surely bring out the original again to sell here and there, kinda like when Universal made Van Helsing(Boring and bad Movie in my opinion) and re-released all those monster Classic Movies to kiiinda promote it, and I bought them not having seen most of them and loved them.
      I think the reboot RoboCop I'll have to watch twice, once to see what the Movie is and second to really take it all in now that I know what it'll be. Because the first time I have a hard time with remakes to un-compare them to the original during the first Watch.
      Basically:
      First Watch: Critiquing
      Second Watch: Enjoy it for what it is

    • @Purify94
      @Purify94 10 років тому

      What obviously in the reboot is that the movie takes in the future where it actually makes sence to be possible to bound human to machine but i guess that we'll see how it will turn out.I'm awaiting for it to show up at viooz so that i can watch it.
      As for Van Helsing imo was a meh movie and TNC's review just made it's point of making Dracula keeping his only weakness as a pet. XD

    Reboots are usually OK when the series is confined to just movies or one area of fiction. However the canon Robocop story was told over a series of 3 movies, a 23 episode TV series, and 4 direct to VHS films. His character already had over 14 years of development through several different media adaptations. This reboot was completely unnecessary, and I don't see them expanding upon the Universe as much as they did the first one.

    A complete and total U.S Box Office flop opening at a pathetic #3, raking in just $21,500,000 million versus $100,000,000 budget, and add another $100,000,000 million in advertising. The movie will still make money overseas + on home video in the long run, but Sony/MGM/Columbia execs are all double face palming. Don't mess with the classics.
