The days after the updates before the patches was always fun. Culling something and going back to it after loading the save it would be standing up, running motion, or the bear would be growling and breathing. I didn’t risk getting near it as maybe it could still attack but wtf. The rabbits emitted some deafening sounds too.

Hey, I've been wanting to ask this: TLD is set in Canada, but how do you think it (or I suppose a similar game) would be like if it was set in Norway instead? What would change (besides the obvious things like flags) and what would be the same? What would give it a Norwegian flair instead? Should it be on the mainland or a place like Svalbard to keep the island part going? Anyway, I hope you and yours had, and continue to have, a great holiday season. 😊
Svalbard would be cool, but wildlife would be different. If it was set in north Norway, I think it would be similar still. Less weapons lying around I would think.

Fun video! It made me laugh :) I've looted all Cat Tails in all locations except Zone of Contamination (haven't been there yet). Sooo the numbers are: Total number of Cat Tails (excluding the Zone of Contamination) - 2298 Three biggest locations in terms of Cat Tail quantity: Forsaken Airfield + Transfer Pass - 426 (forgot to write them down separately so Forsaken Airfield should be around 400) Forlorn Muskeg - 351 Hushed River Valley - 306 Didn't count Cat Tails from the very start of this survival so I don't know the exact numbers in other locations.
How have they still not made a lit torch/flare that you're holding show up as the default fire starter when starting a fire? It seems like a pretty obvious think to fix to me.
I once threw a grenade/noisemaker at 5 of the bird things (haven't played survival in a while due to me suffering through the old modern warfare trilogy) they all fucking died, it was on Timberwolf mountain and I fucking laughed so hard
@zaknafein have you considered making a video on the long dark public multiplayer server? It's got some really cool features like random plane crashes and unique expeditions that act as side quests. I think it deserves more attention!
Wow, the game really was different back in the day. I didn't start playing TLD until sometime after the release of episode 3, but that UI is uh... rough.
This is honestly the best way to get your bow skills up when you start. As soon as you can make or find a bow, make some fire hardened arrows. You can make them at ANY fire or stove. Just click on the fire just like you were adding fuel and you will see a craft tab. you need 3 sticks and 5 feathers I think. You can get skill for making the arrows as well but I am not sure how many you have to craft at once for it to count. Then find bunches of bunnies and birds and build you skill. If you are feeling good you can even get skill if you hit deer with a fire hardened arrow. No You can't bring down a deer, (the arrow will bounce off and not harm it), but if you hit it you will get the skill.
I'll be honest I watched the vid and planned on wathing all of it...... I almost expected you to skip my fave moment about 10 minutes in........ no spoilers for anyone looking at the comments, only the barest of teasers.
