the guy who made all the trailers up to bf1 I think, left dice at the end of 2016. So I guess that was a main reason we're not getting those really big and well made trailers no more
TheHardWay71 BF1 and BFV are disappointing installments. DICE needs to revert to either modern day warfare or a slightly more progressive timeframe. Maybe a decade or so after 2020. Nothing too crazy like where COD is now though. Reiterating WW1 and WW2 isn’t helping anything anymore.
It is night and day. I will still be buying BFV but they dropped the ball so far in how they presented the game so far. They still have time to pick up the fumble and score ...at least in getting the excitement UP for there game.
Hoping to get mine to colonel 100 soon. Ive had around three accounts above 50 but never finish them and create another account since I'm always coming up with ideas for a new user name. Smh.
The kind of hype i never encountered after BF3 came out. I feel nostalgic thinking the hundreds hours spend, the rage, the fun, the chat. We we’re a family. Not the same anymore
Battlefield lost sight of itself, the same way that Call of Duty did. Neither are what they once were, and the drastic changes shown in BFV and BO4, accompanied by the massive successes of Fortnite, Overwatch, and PUBG just prove that even more profoundly. Granted, Battlefield is in a better state than COD, but that isn’t saying much.
in early 2011 i was 17 years old working at Mc Donalds and on construction sites with my buddy, putting cash aside so as to build my 1st gaming computer. I hadn't had a chance to have a gaming system since the PS2 a decade ago and between Skyrim, Battlefield 3 and my growing interest in computers it was the first personal project requiring some money and forethought and i nailed it that computer was a beast and the following years have my greatest gaming memories, both BF3 and Skyrim left their mark on my life.
Not even close. That would be Battlefield 2. Bf3 was a massive downgrade from Bf2 and DICE received so much criticism for it that they completely shut down their forums and wiped all the posted content on it because it was just page after page of people angry and disappointed at how consolized, smaller, and reduce DICE had made the game. It was a major step down from Battlefield 2.
I'm not joking at all. Of course not. Battlefield 2 is a much more detailed, tactical, and enjoyable Battlefield, with much larger maps, more kits, more vehicles, and more expansive team and squad controls. And Battlefield 4 does everything Bf3 does and far more, and even has 80% of the Bf3 maps that are still played - and has a large player base available to play them with.
Battlefield 3 is a heavily consolized and casualized Battlefield. Battlefield 2 is a pure PC-oriented Battlefield game and is the most detailed Battlefield game that's been made so far. That's why even today Battlefield 2's daily player count is more than 3x Battlefield 3's.
svwtsvfcb they say he stepped down, but that’s just corporate language for saying he was fired, then soon after info on poor pre-order sales was released. So they fired him because of the sales but didn’t want to make it seem like that.
svwtsvfcb and if you don’t know he told people to not buy the game if the gamers don’t like how they’ve put women with prosthetic arms during WWII into the game, then don’t buy it.
This game was art. A true immersive rush of sights, sounds, art, music, visuals, and so on. It was such an incredible, immersive experience to play. THIS is when DICE was firing on all cylinders and they took design and gameplay very seriously.
It doesn't sound like you played the Battlefield 3 that I and most of the other Battlefield fans that criticized Bf3 on DICE's forums played. Actually, the response to Bf3 was that it was a total letdown, a heavily consolized and compromised Battlefield, and not worth the pre-release hype. That's why DICE closed their online forums that the dev team regularly posted at - to stop the intense criticism of Battlefield 3. The last truly amazing game that DICE made is Battlefield 2 - and actually a Canadian developer that had made the Desert Combat mod for Bf 1942 contributed a lot to Battlefield 2. Battlefield 3 was so gutted compared to Battlefield 2 that it created massive backlash from the Battlefield community.
I never heard of the battlefield series, at the time I was in high school and all the hype was for mw3. Christmas was coming up and my mom asked me what I wanted while we were at the mall. I was going to say mw3 but they were sold out, instead they had a few copies of bf3 left so I went with it instead. I walked into that game blind but was so worth it, all the summer nights playing and the friends I made along the way (I was invited to one of their weddings but didn’t go cuz of school and work) best memories from my adolescence.
BATTLEFIELD 3 was my gateway game to Battlefield. I liked the previous games -- but BF3 blew me away. In my opinion, it is still the pinnacle of the entire franchise. I loved almost everything about it. It wasn't "dumb run and gun" like CoD. It wasn't simulation like Arma. However, it was the perfect middle for a military FPS game.
DeTooR94 by making a CoD spinoff? Yeah, the settings may be back at their roots but the gameplay has progressed from a slower paced standoff to an assault class rally sprinting around with SMGs. Don't even try to make a comeback, since that's exactly what BF1 turned into for most the maps
@Robs Battlefield 1 did flop. It sold like 15 million copies, but had the shortest player-retention rate of any Battlefield game. Simply put, people didn't like Battlefield 1. And Battlefield 1 wasn't going back to DICE's roots, because DICE's roots include more classes, bigger maps, and all the detail and complexity of Bf2, which isn't present in Bf1.
What i was doing in 2011?? Well.... I was working on BF3 Proud of being part of the team. And was more then happy to come back to work as part of the battlefield teams all the way to BF1.
Still play BF3 on PC in 2019. Plus with new pcs it runs easily in ultra. You guys just need to DL and join us, it's easy to find servers with enough players.

I've watched this video several times in the last few months to help build my hype for the next title in the series. You absolutely nailed what made the BF3 launch so special and I was really hopeful Battlefield 2021 could try and come close. I'm sad to report at this time, the marketing team has not learnt shit from BFV and struggle to build hype like they once did.
Mr-Patate yes you are totally right. I remember setting the language to Russian in the multiplayer to make it more immersive 😂 My favourite campaign missions included the ‘Rock and a Hard Place’ where you start fighting the Russian Paratroopers. I also like the Tank mission Thunder Run, and the ‘Night Shift’ mission.
Ahh those days spent in metro always catching no sleep. Ahh cold showers in the winter to wake yourself up only to fall asleep and miss school but it all works out since you get to play more metro 200x tickets.
Alex The Hawk stfu, bfbc2 2-3 hr rush games were the best. Were talking about bf3 and metro maps were the most played because of its tactical choke points. Also beta testing. "CoD" bet youre one of those people whod have your teammated jerry rig the humvee with bombs and screw around or rigging up the jets so that you can blow it up right when your teammate is about to jump in.
Yeah, I used to c4-troll teammies on spawn until they fixed it on the third title update lol What's tactical in Metro? 3-lane primitive bullet spraying? Hey, listen, I also played metro sometimes and I actually used backstab tactics with reckon stealth spawn etc. but it was just for fun to make fun of stupid metro-camper-kiddos. Any regular outdoors BF3 map - has much more tactics than 3-lane infantry-only pathetic gameplay. Metro IS fun, I agree. But I really hate admitting it as a main and best map in BF3...
Hell yeah! I used to get high, sit 10 cm from my widescreen tv, set the volume ridiculously high, covering my friend on the ground in a Thundebolt over Kharg Island. Best gaming memory!
I remember playing BF3 singleplayer in my living room on my PS3 when coming home from school. This is, in my opinion, the best Battlefield game ever produced.
Battlefield 3 was just amazing, it really brought the Battlefield community together EDIT: "IM GETTING MY SHIT PUSHED IN OVER HERE" BF3 Soldier getting shot at
Jeremyah Streams'n'stuff Everytime i played BF3 I truly felt immeresed in the game, from the sound, gun fire, the soldiers screaming crazy quotes while getting shot at, it just really made you feel like an american or Russian soldier
BF3 had the best maps, the best weapons, the best gunplay, and the best DLCs. I understand BF4 had a lot of fun features but for me it always felt like it was missing _something_ in those areas. I lost interest in it quickly, but if I had held onto it I'm sure the new maps and 4th generation consoles would have redeemed it.
Battlefield 3 was a huge let-down for the Battlefield community, as it featured small (by classic Battlefield standards) and simple maps, an awful colour filter, clunky air vehicle controls, a focus on more ADD-style gameplay, and had other issues. The release maps were very underwhelming, and the Back to Karkand expansion pack maps were extremely downgraded and shrunk versions of the Battlefield 2 maps they were based on. The Battlefield community didn't love Bf3 when it released, and didn't really come to love it over time. This retrospective happening in this video and comments thread is history revision. Bf3 was perceived as the worst Battlefield game in the series when it launched, and today is really the 2nd-worst, after Bf1.
Before 2011 I was heavy on watching UA-cam since I didn’t have a console. I was always watching video game videos to keep up to date on games. On Christmas 2011 my mom got me the new Xbox 360 slim, with BF3 back to Karkand edition. On that morning I hooked it up to the big tv and instantly started playing the campaign. I will never forget the amazing feeling of the game it presented. BF3 is my absolute favorite battlefield to this day!! Amazing times! It deserves more recognition and deserves a remaster. Incredible game!
There was something about the Battlefield 3 soundtrack that just makes me love it even more. Some of the best gaming moments I had came from BF3, regardless of its rough start.
Say what you like about BF3 singleplayer campaign, but that fucking Aircraft Carrier mission? When your Hornet flies over an entire aircraft carrier battle group and the BF3 theme kicks in?
This was, without a doubt, the most enjoyable and epic game i ever played in my life !! At that time im wasnt a gamer at all, since that game . . i have more than 250 games, but none like this BF3
watching this again after seeing the 2042 trailer it almost feels like someone at DICE watched this video and realized how well they stuck it with BF3 marketing. 2042's marketing is mirroring this perfectly.
I remember standing at the edge for about 2 minutes my first time. When everyone started jumping off, I thought it was just some massive server suicide. Then, some guy kept hopping around apparently indicating I was supposed to jump. Man, headphones on full volume and the best looking game I had at the time... The jump seemed real lol
Lol. On consoles. The first time you're the pilot of a huey and your all excited. OMG I'm flying Ten seconds later you plunder to the ground with a full chopper.
This was and still are the best FPS shooter till date! In my opinion! Imagine if Battlefield 6 its the better version of BF3 ... just made to continue the story ...but in 2020 tech and huge improvements!
Really? I thought the servers were dead now? I checked a good while back and there didn't seem to be many players. Maybe I was just comparing it to when I used to play it before BF4.
I was deploying to Afghanistan when this came out and I made sure to get myself a pair of the Oakley flyer gloves because your soldier had them in this game. I thought they looked super cool in all honesty and wanted my one “cool guy” piece of gear for the sandbox

shadowslayer19cg, damn. When I was younger I used to game share simply by handing my friends the disc. Now, I can game share via Steam's Family Sharing (Not all games support it). But with Origin, you have to give them your login info. And like Steam, some games are under DRM so you'd be better off just buying the game yourself.
Elitist Prince Dizzy Or how about this one: MW3: „Take cover behind that wall“ BF3: „What wall?“ Yeah, back then there was a real rivalry between these two franchises...
Bf3 was my first experience with online first-person shooter. I lived in australia back then. The community wasn’t as big as in north america but it was still great and you’d always run into the same players every time you played. Spent around 1,000-1,100 hours playing it over the course of 1-2 years i guess. Those were unforgettable gaming moments. And i’d always get compliments for my helicopter skills.
I was a Fencing Apprentice and on my way home in town before getting on the bus I'd see a billboard with something called Battlefield 3 on it. I hadn't touched an FPS since Medal of Honor on PS1 and was not aware of the previous BF games. I avoided the genre because of how everyone loved CoD, I just put it off. I remember being that sniper on the ship's lookout on Kharg Island. I just thought it was so cool how I could see all this shit happening on Rush. I'd try to pick people off and all that. The realism was unlike anything I'd experienced and I got my penis punched in for a good while but I picked it back up again each day and eventually got really good. The campaign was gritty and I really did enjoy it. The whole thing just takes me back to being worn out walking to the town centre in the rain to get the bus back and getting home to play BF3 before going to bed. Same with the original GTA V trailer. I rushed home in the rain, sat down and watched it while eating and still soaking wet through. I fucking cherish those memories. Games don't really do that for me anymore, or haven't for a while. I poured 800 hours into BF3 and met my first online gaming buddies. I so hope they remaster it. I'm still a console pleb and there hasn't been anything since, other than Siege, that I love. BF3 is one of my favourite games ever.
I do not want to be nostalgic, but as I played BF3 on PS3, I did not have the experience that PC players had, that is, playing with 64 players and in 1080p, I really, really would like to be released a remake of BF3 for consoles of these generation (PS4 and XBOX ONE), now in 1080 (or 4k) and logically with 64 players. A dream.
Or you could upgrade to a PC and play BF3 where players are still playing. The more you wait, the likely you'll miss out forever (if the player base dies or they shut down the servers)

Best battlefield in the history of all battlefields it’s the only battlefield me and my bro and friends had so much fun playing. Battlefield 3 will always have a special place in my heart I miss this game a lot and I wish they remaster it

GhostFromCod88 BF3 is the MW2 of the Battlefield franchise. An iconic time and place game.

Meh, i preferred BF2, BF2142 and BF4. BF3 had the best maps though. "This is only MY opinion!!!"
GhostFromCod88 not the best BF1 was amazing. Guns felt better and play style way better
How does DICE go from marketing Battlefield 3 perfectly to colossally fucking up their marketing for Battlefield V?
TheHardWay71 trying to please sjws instead of a historically accurate trailer
Greed
the guy who made all the trailers up to bf1 I think, left dice at the end of 2016.
Still get goosebumps when I hear the backgroundmusic of this game...
All those hours playing. And finally getting colonel 100. The music still gives me chills. My favorite game of all time!
brennan watson I know top 5 easy
brennan watson I always played bf3 with my bipod knife and my bucket

Hoping to get mine to colonel 100 soon. Ive had around three accounts above 50 but never finish them and create another account since I'm always coming up with ideas for a new user name. Smh.

Xavier Ancarno its never too late I feel like getting a ps3 and bf3 again
Xavier Ancarno the BF3 group will always be a family in my mind...it separated the men from the boys when it came to gaming
"You either die as a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become a "just another game" "
Still the best Battlefield ever made hands down.
@@delicieuxz You must be joking? I played every BF since 1942 and it was the best of the lot.

Meanwhile 2018, "If you don't like it, don't buy It".
He got fired? How do you know? And why?
svwtsvfcb they say he stepped down, but that’s just corporate language for saying he was fired, then soon after info on poor pre-order sales was released. So they fired him because of the sales but didn’t want to make it seem like that.
svwtsvfcb and if you don’t know he told people to not buy the game if the gamers don’t like how they’ve put women with prosthetic arms during WWII into the game, then don’t buy it.
glad to hear this!
just what i thought hahaha xD back then community mattered to EA/DICE
The best battlefield game ever made.... ah the nostalgia... I miss the feel of battlefield 3.
^ battlefield 2 was good too. Really Good
yeah, bfbc2 doesn't have the graphical appeal and animations at all
This game was art. A true immersive rush of sights, sounds, art, music, visuals, and so on. It was such an incredible, immersive experience to play. THIS is when DICE was firing on all cylinders and they took design and gameplay very seriously.
ikr now its only *ONE* year to make a game and when they release it....its *SHIT*
i am so fully with you mate.
Just like Battlefield V. A true masterpiece. Sights, sounds, art, music, visuals, and so on.
@@skyroads-ob2gn The modding was so amazing on bf2. Did you play the AIX mod? I think that was its name.
Chris M This was my gateway to I feel you.
i was BF2142, but i did play BF2 just before it released, but it was BF2142 where i joined my first clan, and had clan matches and stuff.
Exactly
right its so good game i still play it today
well said my friend
Oh DICE, what have you become? You've lost your identity.
John De Luna EA eventually kills all its smaller companies
@Robs because they was thinking about Americans
Lost your identity? They went back to their roots. They've recorvered their identity.
@Robs
Battlefield 1 did flop.
Well.... I was working on BF3
Proud of being part of the team. And was more then happy to come back to work as part of the battlefield teams all the way to BF1.
Why you let them ruin bf5 😭😭😭 jkjj

You can actually listen to the excitement in Jackfrags voice as he talks about BF3. He is truly a fan of the series and wants to see it do better.
Lucas Silva Ribeiro i thought at the end he was going to say "where did that creativity go" considering that bfv's first trailer is femi-nazi pandering garbage

Back in the good ol days when soldiers looked like soldiers!
I know, and in a realistic setting that was getting headlines in that time period (Middle East etc). I feel the campaign was so underrated as well.
In fact, i fuckin' loved the fact that Russian protagonists speak RUSSIAN...
Oh yeah those Ninja snipers look SOO realistic /s

Ahh those days spent in metro always catching no sleep. Ahh cold showers in the winter to wake yourself up only to fall asleep and miss school but it all works out since you get to play more metro 200x tickets.
wanderingbufoon the best wish they made another bf3 2.0 lol
Because of you stupid metro-kiddos BF became cod-like game. Get a life and go and play CoD...
Yeah, I used to c4-troll teammies on spawn until they fixed it on the third title update lol
What's tactical in Metro? 3-lane primitive bullet spraying? Hey, listen, I also played metro sometimes and I actually used backstab tactics with reckon stealth spawn etc. but it was just for fun to make fun of stupid metro-camper-kiddos. Any regular outdoors BF3 map - has much more tactics than 3-lane infantry-only pathetic gameplay. Metro IS fun, I agree. But I really hate admitting it as a main and best map in BF3...
And remember USUCKATSHOOTING 12 yo Kid with frag shells?

Battlefield 3 was just amazing, it really brought the Battlefield community together
EDIT: "IM GETTING MY SHIT PUSHED IN OVER HERE"
BF3 Soldier getting shot at
Hawkeye 47 can we acknowledge how good Bf3 looks even now? Even just visually.
Jeremyah Streams'n'stuff Everytime i played BF3 I truly felt immeresed in the game, from the sound, gun fire, the soldiers screaming crazy quotes while getting shot at, it just really made you feel like an american or Russian soldier
Hawkeye 47 I agree, it was the best overall. My only gripe was the suppression.
*"Heads up, enemy shitfucker up ahead."*
This was brilliant, had me engaged for the full 18 minutes! Great video bru. Man the nostalgia is real

Incredible game!

shadowslayer19cg, damn. When I was younger I used to game share simply by handing my friends the disc. Now, I can game share via Steam's Family Sharing (Not all games support it). But with Origin, you have to give them your login info. And like Steam, some games are under DRM so you'd be better off just buying the game yourself.

Bf3, Mw3 era take me back
This actually feels like beeing back in 2011 watching that trailers and getting so hyped on BF3

Fuge its still was incredible to put it on console when i played bf3 i didnt think the ps3 or xbox360 couldn handle it i was very surprised

When this game came out, they set the bar up so high for all the proceeding games. It was a shooters paradise.
bf3 was ahead of time
I´m watching this in 2019 and hyped as if it´s a new game being released soon lol....can´t wait to come back from work and play it again
My gtx 670 was at it's prime at bf3, and still have it today 😥
lord of gang frogs im still rocking my 660 ti,but tbh most "new shiny" games dont interest me anyway
I am still rocking my Radeon R9 290x from back then
I played BF V on my GTX 650 TI and got 30 fps. So yours should play it also
Haha I got a 550ti to run bf3 and I still use it.
