Christopher and Dana Reeve and their advocacy and research is the reason my uncle is still here today. That stem cell research Christopher was so about is exactly what my uncle had for over 2 years. And while he will never be able to walk again, the trials and effects of the stem cell treatment he was given gave him movement and feeling back to many of his nerves. He has an easier time moving his arms and upper body, despite not having any function in his legs. I can never truly thank the work the foundation has done for the spinal injury community, for the entire community as a whole really. Truly has given a new life to so many people and hope to even more.
I am wondering if he ever tried Hyperbaric oxygen chamber? I was reading that in Europe, it is used to help with serious injuries, like brain and spinal cord injuries, as well as multiple sclerosis and Parkinson's.
Yup. Yup. I’ve seen this twice and it killed me both times but also so inspirational. All the people he’s helped even now years after his passing. He really is Superman
As someone who has a spinal cord injury myself, unfortunately all people who have had this injury feel all those things. We go through all those thoughts like Christopher did. It took me over a year to walk the stage at my graduation after my injury. I’m now 9 years independent on my own fully, now learning to drive again after 14 years. It is crazy to look back on all that of what I was going through to where I’m at now. I don’t regret it all, though the side effects are still hard and troublesome to deal with on a daily basis but damn did it show me how real people were
Christopher reeve also appeared in Smallville I as a 6 year old kid to seeing him in Smallville made me happy and sad especially hearing when he died 😞 god bless our superman and may you fly into the heaven with all of our blessings with your friend Robin Williams who also made me believe I can fly with my first ever seeing Peter pan.
@ if you wanna hear Kevin speak about about his his friendship with Robin when they were both at Juilliard there’s a great interview on the inside of you podcast with michael rosenbaum .
He changed cinema forever, we wouldn’t have the superhero movies we have now without him. I don’t think it’s too far to say he gave people someone to believe in and gave kids a positive role model. Superman made it cool to be kind again ❤️
😢 This is Superman, Christopher Reeves was the man of hope, I will never forget his legacy, the excellent performance, what a great actor, may he rest in peace 🕊️ He's going to give people's hope to all of eternity ❤️ 👏👏👏👏👏
Which is what James Gunn is going for with his dc universe’s Superman actor David Cornswet, coming next July. Gunn understood the assignment, can’t say the same for Zack Synder’s dc universe.
Not this having me crying at work. My dad showed me the first Superman movie as a kid, and I remember never forgetting Christopher Reeve. He and Dana are true heroes. May they both rest in peace. 💜🙏🏼
I purposefully traveled to another city here in Portugal to watch this because it wasnt airing in my cinema! It was a life time experience and I took a friend that knew nothing about Crhistopher Reeve nor his Sups and we were both sobbing hard watching it 😭 so glad you guys got the chance to react to it!
I LOVED this documentary. I'm 54. I saw Superman in the theater when I was 6 yrs old. I remember being mesmerized by it. Superman and Star Wars made me the movie lover I am today. RIP, Christopher and Dana....what an inspiration they STILL are.
Last week i was having a horrible week mentally. My 3rd xmas since my mom passed. Just killed my spirit & i just went home after work & laid in bed. But i watched this & it spoke as in your problems are nothing. And even tho im still feeling a dark cloud is above me im powering thru. All i got is my & my dad.
As someone who's been paralyzed from the waist down for my entire life, this movie resonated so deeply with me!!! Christopher's determination, will, grit, and perseverance moved me in ways that I'm still trying to figure out how to express. This one was so powerful!!! It's definitely making my top 10 of the year!!! Glad y'all reacted to it!!
I saw this in theatres the week of Christopher Reeve's birthday ... cried in the theatres and broke down a few times just re-watching this along with y'all.
Considering this was "only" a documentary, it's better edited, paced, and put together than any other movie this year. I was not bored or distracted for a single moment watching this movie, and I can't say that about many movies.
Christopher Reeve made a profound impact in his short life. He continues to prove that hearts and minds are changed through inspiration (not brute perspiration). He proved that character is what makes heroes super-not their unworldly powers.
This documentary was so good and inspirational. This man and his wife were both heroes. Whatever true love is, I think they found it through the tribulations and life's changes. Used it all to make differences in other people's lives. Definitely caused a lot of tears.
I think I speak for a lot of Rejects when I say working documentaries into the lineup of reactions is definitely a YES! Also, as a child, Reeve was the only Superman for my entire family and we all loved him and his movies. My mother cried when she found out he passed away. Thank you for watching this and sharing your reactions. Lastly, I think Henry Cavil’s Superman is very close Reeve’s in that both the actor and character Cary themselves with such grace and professionalism. Not to mention the amount of reverence that Cavil has for source material in whatever role he’s playing, which is such a reassuring thing in today’s world.
Superman spins around Earth so fast that he managed to reverse time itself just to save Lois from the perils looks really cool and still holds up now. After all, he's faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and can leap tall buildings in a single bound.
Just wanna say as someone whose never really watched or liked much superman content or no much about the actor behind it but damn have yall slam dunked and got me sobbing watching this and his connection to robin willams and all the change he’s done throughout the world 😭😭🙌❤️❤️❤️ Also you definitely need to do more documentary reactions
When Christopherreeves passed away i was so sad considering superman was such a model for everything good. " they will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun,Kal. In time you will help them accomplish wonders" to this day he is still superman
I’ve just finished this, this morning. Literally cried like a baby. That family went through hell. That man is so inspirational that it gives me hope. Seeing Robin Williams that upset hurt the hell outta me as well. Never seen him so sad. 😢
40:47 Re therapy... It's a great point. They don't mention it in the doc, but he did go into therapy eventually to sort out his issues. After a year of therapy, he finally overcame his fears and proposed to Dana.

I remember seeing him on CWs Smallville. As he speaks about Krypton and to Clark, you can hear his Superman theme playing in the background. It was such a beautiful and iconic moment in the series.

Thanks for putting this on my radar. I don't watch modern TV much or at all. Chris will always be my Superman (& my Clark). We lack someone of that caliber today. Just a good person, a natural masculine leader & example for others, whatever planet we could come from. 💔
I bawled like a baby when I first watched this, a beautiful viewing experience seeing it at work surrounded by coworkers. He and his wife were truly something. Glad ya’ll decided to check it out and it was great meeting you Greg, it’s Syd from WB!
I’m old enough to have watched this happen in real time. I watched all of his Superman movies in the theatre. I remember the day that he passed away, when Dana was diagnosed and when she passed. The friendship between him and Robin, This documentary was very accurate. So glad you did a reaction.
What a beautiful movie. I knew next to nothing about Christopher Reeve before watching this and was blown away it. This is a top ten movie of the year for me!
I already grew up with Christopher Reeves story so I know it going to break me. Plus I had a major crush on him as Superman, and it hurt me when he got hurt 😢❤❤
The actual cause of Christopher Reeve's death was due to an infection from a bedsore. The infection had spread and is what caused him to fall into a coma. And his wife Dana was never a smoker yet she died from lung cancer, they never knew what caused her lung cancer. I cry every time I hear the wonderful John Williams' masterpiece of The Superman Love Theme. It's the music you hear when Superman and Lois are flying through the city at night. It is so nostalgic for me, and I think of Christopher Reeve whenever I hear it and cry 😭.
I liked that this film also told us about Dana. She was such a remarkable woman. She took on children that were not her own, then took on his care with no hesitation, then dealt with the unfairness of being a non smoker who develops lung cancer. At any point, she could have lost herself in a sea of bitterness and negativity, but she stayed bright and happy till the end. She was also a true hero.
I was a freshman in highschool when this happened. Came home, watched TV, the news later... I cried. I showed horses so I already had a great understanding of the constant danger you're in and things that can come of it. I've been thrown. One time riding a young horse, she stopped and dropped her body down, attempting to roll over on me. I was lucky and acted quickly yanking my leg out and using her body to jump off and away. This was just riding her in a small arena to see if I wanted to have her. Whenever I saw Christopher Reeve on TV, talking and smiling, he was always so genuine and full of hope that I would end up smiling and happy. He's the only Superman. He IS Superman. I've only watched his and none of the others. They lack heart. ❤
42:20 When my son got a spinal cord injury from a fall at home in 2009 and became a paraplegic, I read a ton of information about the Christopher Reeve Foundation. He was at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Washington DC. He was 6 at the time and is 21 and a senior in college now. Love you guys even more for reacting to this!
I love the documentary film super/man the christopher reeve story❤🦸♂️❤and it was Amazing it's not only about the actor who played superman but also the tragedy that christopher reeve and his family have been through since the accident and the lose to such an iconic and a fantastic actor RIP christhoper reeve😢😢
I saw this doc in theaters and I was emotionally wrecked. I could not stop crying during the movie and after it for the rest of the day. Christopher Reeve truly was Superman. With that said, I’m looking forward to seeing the Superman teaser trailer!!
I’ve never grown up with the OG Superman movies, but I still feel a great sense of loss and sadness whenever I read about Mr. Reeves. That’s how impactful and influential he was, able to affect future generations speaks volumes to how much of a difference he made in people’s lives 😢
My grandmother met Christopher Reeve at a party before his accident she said he was so handsome and Charming at the Harrison Hot Springs hotel in British Columbia Canada
I’ve been rewatching Smallville and I just got to the part where his character passes away and this shit killed me man. If we could all be half the person he was the things we could do as a people.
This was a beautiful tribute to Mr Reeves. The impact he had was much more profound than I ever knew. I’ve died 3 times myself, twice from heart attacks and the hospital’s negligence the third time. One thing that is often overlooked is the trauma that causes family that see that happen. It was a good 2-3 years before my wife got over seeing me drop 💀 on the kitchen floor. I still (10 years later) can’t hear paddles charging or a flatline in a movie without it freaking me out.
Wow what a story🖤, Christopher true hero….the children are all strong and inspirational…amazing. What a solid bunch of people. RIP Christopher, Dana and Robin
I put this on a few weekends ago, completely forgetting about Dana dying so soon afterward. I know the doc was largely about Christopher, but what really stuck out to me was the love his first 2 kids had for Dana and vice-versa. Just a tragic situation for everyone involved. It hurt my heart when Glenn Close said he thinks Robin would still be here if Christopher hadn't died.
Henry Cavill had the muscles. Christopher Reeve had EVERYTHING ELSE 🤷♂️ There’s soooo many reasons why Reeve was/is leaps and bounds the BEST Superman/Clark Kent! He’s so freaken majestic in that role (and you’d HAVE to be, to pull off that old-school pyjamas) He was an Oscar-worthy performer, and an incredible human being ♥️🫡 Thanks for your reaction, guys 🫶
An amazing , inspiring, heartbreaking, sometimes terrifying and ultimately beautiful story about a beautiful man and his beautiful family. Other actors may play Superman, but Christopher Reeve WAS Superman, onscreen and off.
I'm a disabled man. I grew up with my disability that I got when I was only three months old. I have CP/Cerebral Palsy. I got it from an inoculation that I (and everybody else) got as are baby. The reaction while extreme was also very minor compared to the possible limits. I can't walk but my upper body works more or less normally and I'm very grateful for that. Growing up, I was a kid throughout all of this, involving Christopher Reeve. His story and life were very influential to and for me. As a youngster I didn't feel that I was plainly and completely limited because of my disability. I'm grateful to Christopher Reeve for being my inspiration and a positive influence.
Man I swear I think Greg is such a kind-hearted dude, cuz I be crying at all the same stuff he does. First puss in boots the last wish reaction now this? Are you my twin, man?
Great reaction gentlemen. Mr. Reeves was more than an actor. He was superman to us all. Just as Adam West was batman. They knew what it meant to be a hero and conducted themselves as such in public for us all. I still feel this sadness in a way. We were all shocked and prayed for him.
Thank you for reaction to this…I had no idea it existed. I truly appreciate how you guys don’t hold back when you watch something emotional and allow yourselves to show how much it affected you.
As a little kid my first Superman was Dean Cain (although it was just with 4 season but still it has a special place in my heart). Then Tom Welling took the cape for 10 long seasons (I was a teenager nerd at that time). Then I found C. Reeves (in my college life I found a comic book nerd old grandpa about 52yo who runs his canteen and he was telling me to checkout C. Reeves's version of Superman cause he grew up with C. Reeves's version of Superman and I was telling him about Dean's version of Superman & how much I loved. He almost cried after the end of our conversation for Mr. Reeves 🖤 dude is a huge fan I got that. He also said how much he loved and enjoyed Henry's version of Superman as well...Idk if he's still alive or not. I never met him after my clg graduation). Anyways so I watched Reeves's version of Superman & yes I gotta say there's something about Reeves that makes him so different, unique idk how to explain that. Only if the special effects, cgi was advanced... then Reeves would be the greatest Superman I think? Dean was my first Superman but as an adult Henry was my perfect Superman and that'll never change. And as for Reeves? I have a different place for him in my heart cause he even died as Superman! R.i.p the legendary Reeves 🔥👌 And yes I watched Brandon's version and every other previous versions (b&w era) Superman too+the one from Arrowverse as well (Tyler's version)
December ‘92-October ‘93 Superman Crossover Comics; Death of Superman, 3 issue story arc: Doomsday, Funeral for a Friend and Reign of Supermen. Superman dies, 4 others try to take his place before the Original is Resurrected. The writers felt like people were taking Superman for granted and wanted to teach them a lesson; what would the world be like without Superman? A year and a half later our first on-screen Superman broke his neck and came back paralyzed. We saw the kindness, commitment and perseverance of others ~ being super-human for him. Truth, Justice, the American Way.
It's such a powerful and moving story. I was in bits at many moments during it and especially at the end. I also lost my mum and dad so close together. My mum and then 9 months later my dad. That was just 3 years ago. Christmas Reeve was such an inspiration and a strong willed man.
You know it's interesting, in the pilot episode of Lois and Clark the new adventures of Superman, a scientists daughter who is unable to walk due to some disease is told she will walk by Dean Cain's superman when he saved the rocket that'll take her to an orbiting space station by eating the bomb aboard it and then flying the rocket into orbit was made in 1993 before Christopher Reeve's accident but seemed to speak of the optimism and inspiration of Superman to people seemed almost prescient as to how Christopher Reeves inspired superman and ultimately how superman inspired Christopher Reeves.
This documentary made me ugly cry. Christopher Reeve was my childhood Superman. My dad took me to see the movie as a kid. when he died. It was a very sad day. 💜💜💜
This was incredible to watch! I knew almost knowing about Christopher. His story is powerful, nonetheless. Also, I believe this is the first time I’ve seen Aaron cry. I hope all is well, my friend. Keep inspiring!
The score of this movie by Ilan Eshkeri was very powerful. The main theme I added to my playlist of film scores. It now lives with the rest of the superman scores on my playlist.

On the note of documentaries...you guys should do the Val Kilmer one. It's phenominal.
You guys should watch "Incident at Ogalala".
To them, "I was and always would be their Superman." You definitely will always be my Superman, Mr. Reeve.
He truly was the spiritual embodiment of Superman. If anyone could be described as having a pure heart, it was Christopher Reeves.
You knew him?

Out of all the Supermans I've seen and watched. This was the real superman, our childhood hero. Rest in peace, Christopher Reeve

I remember that!
Yeah I thought they would include that in the documentary but they didn't. His appearances in that show were so impactful.
Fun Fact Robin Williams was a roommate with the late voice of batman mr Kevin conroy .

Reeve
The actual cause of Christopher Reeve's death was due to an infection from a bedsore. The infection had spread and is what caused him to fall into a coma. And his wife Dana was never a smoker yet she died from lung cancer, they never knew what caused her lung cancer. I cry every time I hear the wonderful John Williams' masterpiece of The Superman Love Theme. It's the music you hear when Superman and Lois are flying through the city at night. It is so nostalgic for me, and I think of Christopher Reeve whenever I hear it and cry 😭.
christopher reeve as superman is the GOAT
I remember seeing this on the news at the time. Was impossible to process - how can Superman be injured, cos Christopher Reeve 'was' Superman.
Truly a moving docu that broke me. No one can replace him Reeve will ALWAYS be Superman no matter what!
I hope he’s able to do great things. Never give up on hope
@AnvilPictures he's a graphic design major, so our hopes that his injury wasn't more severe than T12 were met.
Reeve
Reeve
Wow what a story🖤, Christopher true hero….the children are all strong and inspirational…amazing. What a solid bunch of people. RIP Christopher, Dana and Robin
The silence at the end was deafening. I felt that. I felt this movie.
I'm 47 years old I've watched him my whole life I've always loved Superman I'll always Love Christopher Reeve I actually named my son after him
It SHATTERS my heart that this got snubbed by the Oscars.
This documentary deserves so much love and attention.
I don’t think it’s even announced yet
Not snubbed but was not able to reach the deadline of submission for that category to be nominated.
This gave me a new perspective on Christopher Reeves I never thought I would see
Reeve
Of all the documentaries this year, this one is one of the best, and yet they didn't nominate this one for an Oscar, and that's a shame.
Henry Cavill had the muscles. Christopher Reeve had EVERYTHING ELSE 🤷♂️ There’s soooo many reasons why Reeve was/is leaps and bounds the BEST Superman/Clark Kent! He’s so freaken majestic in that role (and you’d HAVE to be, to pull off that old-school pyjamas) He was an Oscar-worthy performer, and an incredible human being ♥️🫡
Thanks for your reaction, guys 🫶
An amazing , inspiring, heartbreaking, sometimes terrifying and ultimately beautiful story about a beautiful man and his beautiful family.
Other actors may play Superman, but Christopher Reeve WAS Superman, onscreen and off.
I also just watched this. Wonderful way to enter this week of Superman news ❤
He's been Superman to me my entire life and will always be. What a truly beautiful soul.
Christopher Reeve will always be Superman the real Superman OUR Superman
The long debate on who is the best Superman has ended.
SUPERMAN LIVES! His name is Christopher Reeve.
Reeve
Somewhere in time is a movie i think everyone should see.
I cried in the beginning when he said he failed his family, not being able to raise the kids or support his family. 😢
Thank you for reaction to this…I had no idea it existed. I truly appreciate how you guys don’t hold back when you watch something emotional and allow yourselves to show how much it affected you.
Seeing Robin and Chris back then with the interviews broke me knowing how much they meant to each other. Rip to both
I watched this in theatres and it broke me....
As a little kid my first Superman was Dean Cain (although it was just with 4 season but still it has a special place in my heart). Then Tom Welling took the cape for 10 long seasons (I was a teenager nerd at that time). Then I found
C. Reeves (in my college life
I found a comic book nerd old grandpa about 52yo who runs his canteen and he was telling me to checkout C.
R.i.p the legendary Reeves 🔥👌
And yes I watched Brandon's version and every other previous versions (b&w era) Superman too+the one from Arrowverse as well (Tyler's version)
Reeve
I wish someday I could be a fraction of the man Christopher Reeve was.
R.I.P. Superman.
Now I understand which superman will always be my favorite one
Saw this movie when it premiered at Sundance. Whole movie theater was crying their eyes out the whole time.
I like with the music at the beginning of this video you can tell this feels different. It’s so relaxed yet somber. This reaction broke me
🕯️❤️💙🙏 There is no way not getting emotional watching this, I went to see this in Theaters open night not a Dry eye left. 🕯️Christopher Reeves🕯️
Reeve
People don't even realize Christopher Reeve's Superman was Silver Age Superman.
December ‘92-October ‘93 Superman Crossover Comics;
Death of Superman, 3 issue story arc: Doomsday, Funeral for a Friend and Reign of Supermen.
Reeve
It’s strange but great that the man who played Superman gave mankind so much Hope.
This documentary made me ugly cry. Christopher Reeve was my childhood Superman. My dad took me to see the movie as a kid. when he died. It was a very sad day. 💜💜💜
Beautiful story of ❤Christopher&Dana❤ 😢😢
This was incredible to watch! I knew almost knowing about Christopher. His story is powerful, nonetheless. Also, I believe this is the first time I’ve seen Aaron cry. I hope all is well, my friend. Keep inspiring!
The score of this movie by Ilan Eshkeri was very powerful. The main theme I added to my playlist of film scores. It now lives with the rest of the superman scores on my playlist.
