I'm playing it right now. The fps is a little rougher than I remember. Spoiled by ps4 I suppose. But this and Snake Eater are two of the best games ever. Both released within a year of each other.

I remembered having this back on Playstation2 in 2007 when I was in high school that year and beat it at least 5 times and bought it again on PS4 in 2018 and my little brother had it also on Xbox360 in 2012 and beat it this was his favorite game now he's been deceased for 3 years now and still miss him till this day

Shooting the zombies, moving ahead & collection of armour was too FAB. i dont remember but mostly it was windows 7 or XP. Along with me there were atleast 5 or 6 kids gathered to watch or play this game. This game was way ahead of times and just amazing to play on . ❤from Mumbai.

2005 wasn't exactly the stone age of gaming either, we already had half life 2, metal gear solid 3, doom 3, max payne, quake 3, counter strike, need for speed underground, the gta trilogy, all good looking games with good controls and an overall quality arguably superior to most games that came afterwards. so no, it wasn't ahead of its time it was right in the prime time of good gaming

The compressed audio, although sounding worse than the original. Definitely gave it a different vibe. I’d go as far as to say that it actually made the atmosphere more unnerving with how distorted it made the game sound. It’s definitely not the better port. But this version holds quite a bit of nostalgia for me. Watch Digital Foundry’s video comparing ports if you want to. It’s got pretty cool insights on them.
Loved this game so much that I finished it multiple times on all difficulty and all side characters. I have the HD version on steam but I still feel the PS2 version looks better.

They toned down both graphic and sound to fit the ps2 capabilities...that means the soundtrack heard in the game become more blurry and deep...thats why naturally it added some horrific ambience when u listen to it

I'm playing this now on my PS4 just after I played The Last of Us 2 and there is a huge, huge difference in controls, that's for sure... Nevertheless, awesome game.

@@shiwankerbantawarai2135 Having portuguese as my native tongue, I can understand most of it. For example, the first ganado when asked about ashley, he says "Wtf are you doing here, get out". The Dr Salvador(chainsaw ganado) cutscene for example, it translates to: "Here! Don't let him escape, Go from behind"

I'm playing this now on my PS4 just after I played The Last of Us 2 and there is a huge, huge difference in controls, that's for sure... Nevertheless, awesome game.

I first played it on gamecube and when I tried the ps2 version it was a very ugly shock due to the degradation the game has suffered compared to consoles of its generation
