RE 4 is a Masterpiece!
I'm playing it right now. The fps is a little rougher than I remember. Spoiled by ps4 I suppose. But this and Snake Eater are two of the best games ever. Both released within a year of each other.

This game kinda holds a special place in my heart. This was my first game I played on the PS2. I just remember having a hard time jumping out the window because I was like 5 and didn’t know what buttons do.

When this game came out, I took two weeks of vacation, I went and bought the ps2 and this game, played for two weeks, finished all the extra games, once I finished I sold the ps2, I think looking back I had a nice vacation, with no one tell me what the hell to do... just chilling and playing a nice game .

The compressed audio, although sounding worse than the original. Definitely gave it a different vibe. I’d go as far as to say that it actually made the atmosphere more unnerving with how distorted it made the game sound. It’s definitely not the better port. But this version holds quite a bit of nostalgia for me. Watch Digital Foundry’s video comparing ports if you want to. It’s got pretty cool insights on them.

My gosh 😊 ! This game took me back in 2003 - 2004. I was doing my college that time & those were the days when owning playstation was like owning BMW. I used to play this fabulous game on desktop PC. Shooting the zombies, moving ahead & collection of armour was too FAB. i dont remember but mostly it was windows 7 or XP. Along with me there were atleast 5 or 6 kids gathered to watch or play this game. This game was way ahead of times and just amazing to play on . ❤from Mumbai.

Loved this game so much that I finished it multiple times on all difficulty and all side characters. I have the HD version on steam but I still feel the PS2 version looks better.

Cuz its emulator and ps 2 version has some effects that was removed in pc port(2014)

Man. To me it show how much better the remake is. The scene is so much more tense. I don’t care how people say the original is better. It’s always some kids whom say who were barely born at the time of the original too! 😂
The grainy texture of the original gives a unique vibe.....feels like something mysterious from distant past...substantially enhancing its horror element....
The original re4 is far better in every way.
A lot of parts from the re4 remake just feel bland especially Leon’s voice actor

I remembered having this back on Playstation2 in 2007 when I was in high school that year and beat it at least 5 times and bought it again on PS4 in 2018 and my little brother had it also on Xbox360 in 2012 and beat it this was his favorite game now he's been deceased for 3 years now and still miss him till this day

WHY is this music different in the HD versions? This used to sound way more haunting! I need an answer.
They toned down both graphic and sound to fit the ps2 capabilities...that means the soundtrack heard in the game become more blurry and deep...thats why naturally it added some horrific ambience when u listen to it
@@kristoforuspratama4812 But the Ganado 1 track sounds like it was altered intently. Listen to the one here, and then look up the tracks all on YT. There's more to the difference than just quality, I'm absolutely sure.

I first played it on gamecube and when I tried the ps2 version it was a very ugly shock due to the degradation the game has suffered compared to consoles of its generation
