This is the former World Record for Village on the PS4 version. This can, of course, be beaten and I have since done so. (Check end-screen).
However, this was a very stressful path to success due to the spawn glitch which forces me to jump through the 3rd chest window at the start along with the irregular spawning and behaviour of the ganados. Not to mention the lack of grenades and even ammo at times. According to my calculations, the maximum score possible for the PS4 version is just under 206k.
The maximum score I believe I could manage with a little luck and an extra grenade or two would be 205300 with chests of 35, 35 and 31.

HUNK and Wesker are effectively reskins on the Leon model with custom melees added to them. Because they don't need to be anything more for a minigame mode.
Umbrella Chronicles showcases his powers and takes place before RE4. He was always powerful.

I assumed they were trying to go easy with what Wesker's gameplay abilities should be in resident evil 4, before deciding, yeah let's give him a running attack in resident evil 5.

It’s not only insane how perfect you know the layout and spawns but that you can capitalize on it so well by throwing grenades at enemies you can’t see and aiming the sniper so fast/180/360 degree turning at the same time. Cheers man. Impressive.

I didn't realize it. He dropped the killer 7. I assume he knows he won't get ammo from enemies. Idk if that's true or not. But totally bad ass he drops the very weapon that killed all the chain girls and like five grenados trying to get him in the farm house with a single shot.
@@Antheraws Yeah, magnum ammo can only be found in boxes/barrels, so for village there's only 15 extra rounds available and I collected them all. No need to keep a useless gun in my inventory :P

I got only 153000 with Hunk
Ive gotten 160,000 and some change with Hunk before on the PS2 version. I watched a lot of pro hunk village videos and copied their strays to best of my ability. I would get around 140,000 and then finally got to 160K. Ive never been more proud of my self. But that was years ago. Castle with Krauser I would consistently get 190,000 and 200,000.

And I've played RE4 since it came out and played the Mercenaries pretty seriously for several years before focusing on RE5's Versus mode. I still come back to RE4 now and again, applying the latest strategies and ideas of my own.

Your movement on here with a controller is impressive. I'm used to playing with a Keyboard and Mouse due to me finding it easier to aim overall, especially with Snipers. However, the movement can be quite clunky at times and hard to get used to. :( Have you ever considered using mouse and keyboard? There are parts in this video where I feel like you would've been able to snap on to multiple targets faster with the sniper if you used mouse, potentially getting better score as you'd have more time.
@@Oxygen97 Yeah, Mercs in RE5 is coop except for the No Mercy Mode. I don't play Mercs on 5 as often though, as the Versus mode against other players is more my thing.
If I ever get the PC version I guess we'll find out the answer to that question :P

I've kinda given up on the 60fps version on account of all the dumb glitches myself, so it was very interesting to see the route you're using to counterbalance those. You clearly know what you're doing. Great chests, too.

Obviously masterfully done yet I don't really understand the intricacies of letting the combo drop around 5:18 then shooting wildly at the ground. I assume it has something to do with some type of glitch but how does it outvalue the combo bonus? Would love to have this explained!
I have a video explaining the scoring system in-depth, the shooting at the ground is to aggro the ganado into grouping up faster.
After the 10th kill in the combo, the combo bonus remains static at 700. With ganado valued at 300 base points, this means the 10th kill is worth 1,000 points, as is the 400th kill as well.
For bosses, this 700 becomes 4,500.
The bonus chests replace the combo bonus of all kills to be 1,000; effectively making every Ganado killed during the chest's 30 second duration be worth 1,300.
Therefore, it is more important to get as many kills during the bonus chests than it is to have a massive combo.
If we compare a 40 combo:
Without chests, this would be (40 x 300) + 1,670 + (31 x 700) = 12,000 + 1,670 + 21,700 = 35,370.
If all 40 kills are during the bonus chest (demonstrated in my 207,700 video) then it becomes 40 x 1,300 = 52,000.
So the same combo but with a difference of 16,630 points.

Yesterday I was watching a Let's Player called The NSCL and he was talking how much he loved this game while playing The Mercenaries, he said that:"And then there's these gods who can rack up to 200000 points, it's magical"
Kind of him to say, though it's mostly down to memorization, practice and a little bit of RNG luck with ammo/grenade drops.
Congratulations for this score, man ! )) it's really an impressive job to hit past 204k with such a limited possibility of getting handgrenades in an entire run alongside different spawning codings of ganados and movement(especially in the beginning of the run where you spawn initial 5 in the cabin for the 1st chest), which make it a lot harder to obtain a high score.
I tried doing this a couple of times by myself too several months ago, and yes, as you say, I do think the possible score can be around 205k too on PS4 version with much lower possibility of getting handgrenades from the enemies, and due to the fact that the enemies tend to rush to the character faster and tend to be alerted by the sounds much easier than on GC/Wii/PS3/Xbox360 version, I doubt we'll ever stand a chance to get over 206k unless things go exceptionally well in lots of aspects. :p it's in the same category on the leaderboards by some fan communities, but to me personally it feels like totally a different game from what we saw people play on older consoles just like on the NTSC gamecube version.

The biggest issue with the ganados on this version seems to be, at least on village, that they sometimes stall. The male ganado with the hat who spawns due to the timer inside the barn after the first combo often just stands still and doesn't even walk towards you. Village is buggier than just the 119 kill glitch.
I agree that it feels like a completely different game, especially with Village's glitchy nature. My best chests on this version for village have been 35, 35 (potential 36) and 31. So with a 35,36,31 it would be a little under 206k. But without a magnificent run with the best luck imaginable with grenade drops, 205 and 206k are just pipedreams lol.
I did indeed. I've been quietly working on Base and Waterworld for this version. Base I need to learn completely, whereas with Waterworld I just need to consistently spawn all the enemies.
@Marcus B The PS4, XB1 and Switch versions of RE4 make Village harder to achieve record scores because of the spawning glitch, which forces you to jump through the window like I do at the start in order to spawn 5 enemies. If you don't do this then you can only spawn 119 enemies, drastically reducing the potential score.
As for the rest of the maps, Castle is also different as enemies seem to spawn slower. I have no idea about Base, but Waterworld behaves just fine.
The PS3/Xbox 360 versions suffer from a lack of grenade drops and power ammo.
PS4/XB1/Switch have less grenades but more power ammo
The standard or original versions of the game seem more balanced in this regard. Yet the differences between PAL and NTSC are notable.
This is why World Records are divided by the consoles they are achieved on.

By shooting, I speed this up, so they rush towards me and gather together faster.

Albert Wesker my favorite character mercenary in resident evil 4, he is all around and balanced in his arsenal, gotta love him, balanced and a perfect load out, what more i can say.

The way you gather the ganados and throw the hand grenade... And put a good use of the semi-auto rifle to keep the streak alive... That was really smart move... Absolute brilliant.
