I hope you are enjoying a wonderful summer (or winter) break where ever you are in the world. ☀️ I think it's fair to say that this year has been a bit of a roller coaster so far and we all deserve a little break from what has become our day to day life. But don't worry, the #CharlierChallenge will resume in September. - Håkan Hardenberger
Thank you. Thank you. As others have said, you've set the bar for us, Hakan. Beyond that, though...gorgeous, gorgeous music. Too often, musicians play their instruments. You play the music, and it's so easy -- captivating even -- to feel your expression.
Hearing you play these inspired me to get the book and get to work. I don’t know what the current situation is in Sweden but here in the US there is no end in sight and none of the groups I play with can rehearse. Please continue to play these no matter what happens!
How often do trumpet players want to show off their chops and all you get is technique? Håkan's sheer virtuosity is amazing to behold, but what sets him apart is the sound, the music that oozes out of each one of these studies. To have complete command of an instrument like that where it becomes purely a vessel for expression makes me privileged to watch this definitive work of art being created and thankful as I am able to watch it as often as I like. As someone who retired from playing this makes me both want to get the trumpet off the wall and leave it there at the same time! But I believe that Håkan would only want to inspire trumpeters everywhere, so time to dig out some study books. L'exercise Du 3e Doigt can wait a bit though.
Just realized that he played an E#/F instead of F# in the bar starting at 1:09 (9th note of the bar, or 2nd accent). Sounds cool with the aug6 sound instead of the dim7.
I play this study often...You are a great inspiration for me! Ty to share your talent . All notes are beautiful and it looks like a partita of Bach . I return to play, sorry, to work this study !!

been practicing this etude for 14 years now. Won't come close to this performance. Brilliant!
ONCE AGAIN RAISING THE BAR FOR US ALL AND DOING IT FLAWLESSLY

Perfecto! One of my favorite flow studies. Now I know how it should sound :-).

What an incredible continuity of sound throughout - love all the dynamics and the tone changes. My favorite daily study brought to life superbly. 🎺👍🖖
Thank you very much. Fabulous
