Words cannot describe the joy and excitement I experienced this morning when I looked at my UA-cam feed to see another installment of the Charliers etudes by Hakan Hardenberger. :) Even with the mass influx of amazing trumpeters posting videos during the pandemic, Mr. Hardenberger has exuded musical excellence beyond any others I have seen or heard. Recordings like this have inspired me to step up my game, so to speak. I can't thank you enough for continuing these master performances!

Why'd you de-list your videos? I always enjoyed your Brandt etude performances.

These are and will be when completed the finest recordings of these etudes ever done. I especially love hearing them on a C trumpet.

I have loved these SO much. To take these gems past the limitations of that unfortunate word “etude”, and the unintended expectation of pedantic, technical detail and find MUSIC. Thank you so much, Mr. Hardenberger. And I am grateful to have discovered YOU through these videos. I will be watching for the future.

The whole series is life affirming and gives us all a sense of renewed commitment to music, not just the trumpet. Håkan simply transcends the trumpet.

I so wish you had these available when I was studying Charlier. While I had some very respected teachers, none could demonstrate the musicality you put into these things.

Hakan... really appreciate your performances and hope you complete ALL 36.
You have inspired me to work through them in full... with the dedication to the "musicality" they truly deserve instead of treating them as mere studies.
Can't wait until you do the WAGNER... no. 24... and bring out the driving nature if the phrasing that are SO emblematic of the Deutsche style.
