Barrakka gardens my fav spot on the island what fantastic views, one on my friends used to fire the cannon here, and running parallel to Ursula is Battery Street i have stayed there a few times.
There's another video coming up of the 3 gardens tomorrow ?? don't miss it !!
Hi Steve ,it so weird watching these amazing videos of the Maltese Islands gorgeous blue sky and sea and no people or tourists about ,very sad..I use to work in street Santa Lucia at a jewellery work shop.,happy memories.❤️
Glad you like them!
Hi Steve, thanks for the video, Ursula street is as familiar to me as my own bed, I stayed at the Harbour Hotel and British hotel too over the years and glad to see Bonaci still around, a famous name in confectionary in those days, say like Mr. Kipling over here, and I had my first job near there just under Harbour Hotel, we use to call it ta lis "Spel" washing soap powder, anyway thanks again and glad you made it to the top, see you on your next one.
Beautiful street and lots of stairs! You are so funny 😆 thank you 🙏 I enjoyed it 😍 Go and sit and have a beer 🍺 or 2, Bye, have a good evening
Thank you! 😃
Beautiful Valletta 😍 This particular area is one of my favourite places to mooch about and explore. I especially love the steps just outside the Harbour Hotel leading to the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Have many photos of this street 🥰 It’s a shame they are removing the steps higher up. The story of the lady and two sailors was very interesting, not heard that before. I love a bit traditional folklore . Thanks again Steve 👍🏼
I said that about the step but i wonder if there were any ? Or its its cheaper to tarmac then replace them , I am not sure now !!
Thanks a lot for this video st ursola street .
Most welcome
Well done, hope you had a nice cool drink afterwards!
Always! ...water !! 😲😲😲😲
My father lived in that street as a child beautiful place happy memories

Well done for yesterday Welshman in Malta, I enjoyed the Wales win, from a Maltese man in Bournemouth.

Good morning Steve 🙏
Very nice walk, beautiful architecture and lots of history. It would be nice to see inside the old homes in those narrow streets. Could be a video for the future 😀 Enjoyed the video Steve 👍
Valletta always special ❤️. Thank you Steve!
Congratulations from Joseph and Patricia.
Thank you for lovely comments
Morning Steve good video all the best classic trucker 😎 nice cat
Hi Steve, great video. That little city has so much to offer and to see so many places are now being restored to their former glory is nice to see. Those steps always catch me out 😁 and on a wet day are almost lethal if you are not careful. Cheers 👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi Steve, another great video. With that heat and climbing up all those steps you deserve a medal. That flag you saw wasn't the Irish flag it was the Royal Standard, that means Her Majesty was in residence in that property so you could have popped in for a bottle of water and to pick up the medal you richly deserve for doing that video. That was interesting about those two sailors and the lady. Stay safe.
Thanks for the info
The buildings look more modern
Hi steve good video mate nice to see different parts of Valletta. Keeping you fit mate .There the architecture is outstanding. Wouldn't like to be a postman around there. Ha ha .Cheers steve good one 👍👍
I hope you stopped at the Gabbana for a cisk. You earned it lad. I bumped into a lot of boat race supporters there one Sunday, and they where celebrating Isla winning.
It was 50 euros to go in the kitty, and the crates full of empty cisk bottles were stacked high! What an afternoon.take care lad!
Yes you told me about this drunken afternoon !! Shameful 🙄😂😂😂
Those Streets were very quiet Steve. Lovely seeing the back streets of Valletta. Think the heat was too hot for you walking all those steps, I know what it's like we have walked around there too.
Many places have changed since our last holiday in Dec 2019, but appreciate you keeping us up to date.
Missing Malta desperately. Hope to enjoy the views again our selves hopefully in April. Good luck for next month ...No Masks. Keep up the good work Steve. 👍🇬🇧
Thank you so much !! Wish you happy returns soon !
My two nieces (siblings) are Nuns residing in that St Ursula Convent. Pity it was closed. Thanks for showing us. Should drink more water in that heat.
You did well with those steps, should have had oxygen waiting for you lol. Wouldn't be any good me staying at Asti with all those steps. That certainly is a long street. Love looking at the houses and peeping in if the doors are open lol. Thanks for the video xx
Tell me about it...I am planning a couple of other soon ...🙏🤒
Look so nice place! Love to walk all day . Beautiful views 😍
Thanks for visiting , maybe enjoy walk one day ?
@@EnglishmaninMalta Thank u so much
Nice one Steve , even though it made me breathless by the time you arrived at the garden . I see you haven`t lost your `cat whisperer` abilities yet , maybe the cat was Italian .
Thanks great video , my mum lived at 148 🤗
Very cool! its a very beautiful street
well done good job friend
Thank you so much
I remember reading about that story of the soldiers when I was there on my honeymoon. My wife and I walked down that street.
Its a long tale ...many of them around Strait St Valletta
also ...could be drink related ,...lol 😂
Hey Steve , loved that walk , , beautiful houses .. seems so quiet ..thank goodness you only had a light breakfast before you did it 😅😅💪😜.never work with children and animals 🐈.💜
Ther a couple of nice hotels over there ..Nice and quiet..Ideally suit a hide away !! cats hate me !!.🙈😥
@@EnglishmaninMalta that’s good to know about hotels will check it out for if I get to come over sometime , I like the sound of a quiet hide away ...
That was a long climb Steve. I'd need a Cisk or three after doing that. In Valletta, I try and walk downhill and cheat on the way back up with either a bus or the lift.
Hey Bonzo , Yes you can ...But it's half the fun feeling the history
The buildings look more modern
I would buy there in a heartbeat Steve bet is it very expensive like nice places allways are
Not too bad if you know where to go !!
Sorry meant to put St Ursula Street.
Hey Vicky xx
can you go to ta'Paris in Birkirkara pls then to the Bypass
Lovely video once again. You should sit for a while and catch your breath. I’ve never been there and walked, lots of walking and stairs❗️
Glad you enjoyed
Another nice walk, although the stairs would kill me! You deserve a seat and a Cisk after that 🍻😊
I left them to the last ...lol 😂 Not so bad !!
Great video Steve! I'm still editing my Grandparents' video of Malta from 1994 - I thought I'd finished, then found a few more days footage! Your videos are helping with my research, as I'm putting info as subtitles at the bottom of the footage. I've never been to Malta before, but as luck would have it - I'm getting married next month and Malta is on our safe list of travel, so we're coming over for our honeymoon! I feel like I know the place pretty well already thanks to UA-cam and the research I've been doing :) Are you using a GoPro MAX, by the way? I've got one but not tried this type of editing yet. I really liked the way you move the picture around!
Nice one sir
Thank you
A NICE LONG WALK THROUGH HISTORY 🚶⚔(1870)🛡 🎥 👏.
If only those old beautiful houses/buidings could talk 🤔 🏘 👻.
Oh Steve, those stairs at the top end must have be a killer - good for the legs 😂. THANKS FOR SHARING 🏴.
CHEERS 👍 🇲🇹 ♥ 🇪🇺 ©.
What you do not know ...But do now !! Behind the scenes I had already walked down ..to plan to leave the stairs until last ..lol 😂
Hey mate can the English travel to Malta at the moment supposed to be coming July 1st what’s the requirements thanks love your videos
They are changing daily so I sent you the Government guidelines www.visitmalta.com/en/covid-19/
@@EnglishmaninMalta thanks 🙏
Dont forget you have your own government guidelines to check if uk we are still in your amber list ...
In 2019 I started to bring a bottle or two of water, and a bottle of orange gatorade or a bottle of juice with me when I am in Malta, the hotter the day, and the longer the day the more likely I am to bring two bottles of water. The orange gatorade manufactured in Italy is higher quilty than the American version. They also have some very good juice in Malta.
Valletta is an expensive place to live, maybe some day I'd rent a hotel there for a few days yet to live there I'd have to have a lot more money than I have. It sure would be nice though, especially on a not noisy street.

No beer in the week ??
I see that you guys are still wearing masks and the streets are still empty. We're doing a lot better here. We don't have to wear mass. And a very high percentage of our state has been vaccinated. But it's not that way all across the United States. Hopefully soon
Hey welcome my channel Friends been a few times your account finding comments turned off ??

I stayed at Asti!! It’s lovely if you want a very traditional Maltese place to stay at while you’re there! It’s family run and the older lady who owns it is so lovely and accommodating! It’s a gorgeous street!!!!! They have a light breakfast every morning and it was a great way to meet people. In non pandemic times they had events with music in the evenings. I’m not sure about right now.
Thanks for the tips! it looked small ??
@@EnglishmaninMalta there’s only so many rooms but the rooms themselves are quite large and very nice
