The story line was correct so far ❤. But i can't believe we forget about Bowman, Mason and Woods old team members and their best friend forever. Bell, the one of Perseuss member can choose decision between right and wrong. Tin Zhao, the man who already help Hudson, Mason, and Woods on Afganistan against Soviet led by Lev Krachenko, Nikita Draghovic second in command.

because that's the canon choice in black ops 2. Woods thought he killed Mason but he didn't.
that’s what i thought, they did that on purpose obviously they know the difference, i just don’t know how that would work, david mason is still around what 10-13 years old, mason didn’t come back until 2025 in this ending in black ops 2, also if woods shot mason in the leg instead of the head he wouldn’t be so sure he killed him

So that was definitely the cutscene when you shoot mason in the leg and not the head he is definitely still alive

So yeah
it said tricked into shooting and killing just because it shows the other cutscene doesnt mean that one happened what was said was what happened
It was confirmed by Treyarch themselves to content creators that Woods killing Mason is canon.

So the canon is “Menendez does not fully succeed in manipulating Woods”.

Really? So absolutely anyone does not realize that the whole Truth Lies and Alex Mason is dead is just a thing so the fans could do free advertising to the game? All these speculations we make is only free advertising, that does not solve anything yet. Just wait 3 more weeks and then you can jump to a definitive conclusion!
The story goes:
- First: BO1
- Second: BO:COLD WAR
- Third: BO2 (Flashback Sequences, 1989)
- Fourth: BO6
I think the BO2 future parts with David Mason may be retconned or non canon at all. We’ll wait and see.
BO4 takes place after the future parts of BO2.
BO3 takes place years after BO4 (we don’t talk about BO3).

The parts where David appears must be canon but we don't know yet.

See Mason “died.” The thing is, we know that Mason was shot in the leg and survived based off the cutscene showed. WOODS AND EVERYONE ELSE in universe thinks that Mason is dead. To him, Woods thinks he killed his best friend when we know different

For those confused, Black Ops 2 had a dynamic timeline, some decisions lead to Mason being killed, others had him remain alive.
The narration suggests Mason being dead is canon, the footage suggests otherwise, so a smart move on their end to keep the Black Ops 2 campaign ambigous regarding which ending is canon

I find it wild that it's the original Black Ops that keeps getting follow-ps and yet they've never remastered the original despite its continued relevance, yet they remastered and remade the Modern Warfares which don't.
All I want is bo2 remastered
Mason will always be my favourite in the Black Ops Campaigns. It's nostalgic that he's returning, and I can't wait to play this game!

This is the reason why the Black Ops campaigns are the best (with the exception of BO3). So much lore and depth, so much mystery. Something both the original and new MW trilogies don't have. Cold War's campaign did not disappoint. Can't wait to find out what happens in BO6!

It is curious how they don't even mention "bell" at all XD
I hope the new guy we play as is now someone relevant to the plot, bell was only a blank slate to fill something I guess, never intended to be an actual character, begs the question into why they didn't put Mason as the protagonist once again (which they did briefly in the story but still very lacking in comparison to bell), I doubt it would have changed that much or that people would have cared more if you could have being using Adler from the get go, just imagine being now YOU the one who brainwashed someone, that would have been really interesting.
So there's a chance that Raul Menendez might be in Blops 6.
Sadly the actor died i think last year or 2 years ago 😭 so hopefully we get someone decent to voice a new Menendez. Rest in peace
