The latest Black Ops 6 Story Trailer recaps the entire Black Ops Timeline from BO1, BOCW and BO2 including the 1989 flashbacks which includes the infamous Suffer With Me Mission where Frank Woods executes Alex Mason. We have been told multiple times that the ending where Mason dies is the canon ending going into Black Ops 6, but this Black Ops 6 recap trailer shows a VERY different version.

It would be sick if we played a mission as Alex Mason after he was shot. Him regaining consciousness and escaping while injured, seeing Hudson after his execution, etc.

You’re taking the thirty years line a little too seriously. Woods was just rounding. You never specify the exact amount of years. If it’s been 8 years since you’ve seen something people normally say decade.

I see no problem with him being alive. It doesn’t affect the story at all in my opinion because he’s already missing and not going to be part of the BO6 campaign. So I feel like them “confirming” he’s dead is just odd
I’ll admit, I’ve always wanted to believe the ending in bo2 where mason and woods reunite and mason reunites with his son David is the real ending.
I knew it I knew he was alive everyone been telling me he died
BO3 being canon so the BO3 Terminal safehouse document and the old Treyarch video timeline confirms that David killed Menendez in Haiti.
So Alex Mason being alive and Menendez being dead is canon.
And also one huge fact, even if u kill Menendez, it doesnt matter if Harper and Chloe are alive or not since the riot always happens when u kill Menendez.
So Chloe and Harper could probably be back in 2030 campaign COD future game rumor.

That’s actually probably it, didn’t think of that.
Whilst I think this definitely holds some weight, if they wanted to do that then why do they still use the initial part of the cutscene where he stumbles when shot which is from the version where he lives? They could have used the version where he pancakes to the ground but still have the bullet wound-less face reveal?

Mason could still make an appearance in this game, just not seen by woods. If he secretly shows up with Adler or the main character, who we don’t ever see in the future, it doesn’t retcon anything
But he probably won’t, just so all bo2 endings can be canon
I always liked Mason the most. But my God they just abandoned Infinite Warfare and AW. Those were amazing campaigns with the fastest MP (BO3 too).
Imagine Mason being a zombies character during the years he was hiding
They only want to remove BO3 and BO4 from the canon.
But what really needs to be removed from the unified universe is MWII and MWIII. 💀

i mean even though he was shot in the knee, everyone thought he was dead, since he went to hiding. So i guess they would say that he is "dead" in Bo6 i guess that will stay that way untill a futurestic bo comes out bo8 or something!

The fact that they can't come up with a new story without using old characters is a bit stale for me.
That's how I feel about zombies reusing the same names and characters and themes.

I pray menendez makes an appearance even if it’s just 1 mission. In the reveal countdown trialer, you can hear woods narrating someone through what happened in Panama by saying “we went through the back door…” with a shot of walking behind Noriega. I cannot wait for this campaign, hope it doesn’t disappoint

Ahh yes, “The Truth Lies”. The perfect tagline for content creators to come up with a reason for COD marketing’s continuity errors and thoughtless retconning.
Like I said on the last video you said he was dead, this game can't confirm or deny whether he is dead or alive as it's before Bo2 and we haven't had a game that carries on the events from Bo2 therefore Bo2 still has no cannon ending.

@@thek838 Half of Bo2 takes places in the past. Did u forget that half the game follows Alex in the past while the other follows David in the future. There are 2 timeframes in Bo2 not just 1. The dates are literally in the bloody game. The Alex Mason missions in Bo2 are set before the events of Bo6. Cod literally posted videos about this. Use that brain of yours and think, how does it logically make sense for Bo6 to be before Bo2 when woods in Bo6 is being hunted by the Government while in Bo2 he still worked for the goverment/CIA. Woods wouldnt go from being hunted by them to working for them.
Their blog post is wrong, "Raul Menendez" is Nexus Target and not Nexus One.
If the question is to have a character either dead or in hiding until 2025 then why reveal the answer now, just keep it a mystery until the 2025 sequel game.

All right so we're going to have another cliffhanger for probably the next 10 years about this Mason stuff
I think of it from the perspective of the characters, and as if the treyarch devs are acting/retconning the 2025 half of BO2. Everyone in the story up to this point believes that Mason is dead evidenced by Woods not knowing until the reunion at the end of the BO2 campaign. If he thinks Mason is dead then everyone does, and the devs too, as if the whole 2025 stuff isnt canon or hasnt happened yet or wont happen depending on the next games down the line.
Marketing is staying consistent: The Truth Lies.

The only reason why they’re saying this is canon etc. etc. is because BO6 is just about to come out. If they were to say “actually he is alive” right before BO6 was to come out and we end up seeing that mason is alive at the end, it’s not really gonna be a surprise Is it. The fact that they keep going on about it makes it suspicious. We’ll never really know if he’s dead or not until BO6 (if they reveal it) or next year when a BO2 sequel supposedly comes out.
Y'all have way too much faith in CoD to think they intentionally used the footage of Mason being shot in the leg to make people question whether he's dead or not.

I feel like if he is alive he will be with the characters who never appeared in the original games like adler, marshal and park
They just didnt want to show gore on YT... thats it... also they used that specific cinematic of Mason being shot because... it looks more cinematic for a trailer.
Wood and David don't find out Woods is alive until 2025. What if Mason becomes a zombies handler or dedicated crew character? Pleaseeee Treyarch. It'd explain where he was for thirty years and why he hasn't aged in BO2.

Also i asked Burns this question actually and he basically said the same thing for his character.
It is weird how he works for the govt now, definitely feels out of place for woods imo. That kind of position is one of the reasons woods didnt really like Hudson either.

I don’t think it’s that deep, it’s probably just an error, given suffer with me take place in 89 and blops 2 treats woods the entire time as if he thinks Mason is dead. If he saw him in 95, why would he be so surprised to see Mason in 2025, saying ‘You. You stay right there. I shot you? and Mason says ‘Turns out you’re a lousy shot’. It’s in the text that it’s the first time they’ve seen each other since.
