I worked at wimbledon this year and I was doing bag searches at the practise courts. Venus comes along and plonks a small drawstring bag in front of me, I'm like *omfg it's Venus Williams, it's Venus Williams* despite the fact I've seen/searched her before, and I say hi and she says hi and then she's like "no bands today?" and for a second I'm a bit stumped, confused, but then I realise she means the colour tags/bands we put on the players bags each day in the practise courts so I'm dying inside trying to keep my professionalism together and I just go "ahahaha, yeah, no we do it's green today!... green and yellow." and she's just like "mmhmm... thank you" after she gets her green tag and goes off to the courts. All the time inside I just wanted to tell her she's amazing and I love her but I had to stay professional because the supervisor is right behind me etc.
But yeah, that's my encounter with Venus this year. I felt so blessed man, so blessed. Of all the players here I just felt like Venus was the ultimate last standing veteran and I have SO much respect for her grind!
I'm looking forward to you playing at Wimbledon 2020 and WINNING the whole thing!

I want to see Venus Healthy!!!! I think she's been struggling with injuries this year. Of course we'll never know but I feel if shes healthy she is still a factor in any tournament she enters without question.

I have been on message boards (before the internet was the Internet), watched television specials, been to movie theaters, bought photo books, and now THIS! My head might explode. Send help! Let me tell you! Thank you. I am 67 years old, had more down than up, as in every company I worked for closed or closed the division I was in. The only sport I did anything good at was tennis, never above 2.5, and that is why I have followed you, and others, since you turned pro. Now retired and on SSA I am a furniture and furnishings designer and maker. The first prototype of my first project worked. It did not fall apart, or break, or be too unworkable to be of value. Oh! It is not perfect, but I can now move forward from here. Thus as you say “keep moving forward!”. Good luck to you. I will keep watching, Good vid!

This is what I love about UA-cam, being able to follow the people you truly admire who are making their own content raw and unfiltered. Grew up watching Venus and Serena dominate the women's game and have great memories of their matches at Wimbledon. They are the role models we need on social media, people who motivate and inspire by sharing their experiences. Venus has walked the walk and continues to do so. Look forward to watching her videos.
Wow...this is just tremendous and we as fans are so blessed to see such an in depth view into your life. I'll tell you this, I picked up a racquet for the 1st time last year at age 29 because of how well you did in 2017 and thought to myself I can do it. I moved to Florida and live near the USTA in Orlando. I train 4-5 times a week and have entered into 3 tournaments winning 1. That's all because of you. I lost the weight and getting my life back. You have no idea what these videos mean to not only me, but especially the world. Thank you Queen V! Keep being an eleVen! ;-)

I also thought about a big difference between 1997 and 2019 being then she was out there on her own, breaking down barriers. This is such a beautiful and inspirational video. Venus, for me, is one of those players I've always enjoyed watching, especially when she's in full flight around the court. I always want to see her win even against Serena, I never tired of seeing Venus win. The message that I take from this is that the fight, the human spirit, goes on and on no matter what you do in life. The fight goes on even into the beyond.

I watched that game and I was delighted. I did not see it as a lose for Venus but the introduction of a new generation inspired by the Williams sisters. You changed tennis in the 90s and dominated the scene in the last 20 years. You have to believe that you have a legacy that will last for generations to come.
