      Dude, man - I know you focus your series on toys, but is there any chance that you could devote an episode or two to books/comics/illustrations/video games? For example, I distinctly remember my Jurassic Park Nintendo game having T. rex lips, myJurassic Park comics representing Velociraptors as pretty much carnosaurs, and my Dino Crisis game being tossed in the trash when my last save point was precisely at the moment that I was about to get chomped on by a T. rex.

      Hey, @Your Dinosaurs Are Wrong, I actually have an old toy dinosaur that I would like to send to you guys - Plateosaurus model in case you wanted to know beforehand - but I'm unsure if you guys have switched addresses at all? I found you wrote an address in your older videos but not in your most recent ones, so I'm somewhat unsure if that is still your current address or if you still accept donations of this kind.
      Also, if the Grand Rapids address is still accurate, Hi Neighbor! :D

    I cannot explain how satisfying it is to watch the "wrong" dinosaurs slowly transition into the "right" dinosaurs in the little animations.

    I like how you critiqued this little Velociraptor skeleton while also understanding the limitations of this model's size. It's a nice balance between respecting the artist's work and discussing the (in)accuracies of the piece itself.
    Btw I absolutely love the new animation in the end credits!

    I'm pretty sure like with many other models and kits,the inaccuracies are due to practical and mechanical constraints of the material used and how the incredibly tiny pieces fit together and withstand handling, also the cost.It looks like a great effort by someone to craft a reasonably accurate kit.An interesting video,as always informative.

    it was interesting to see how much more bird-like the model becomes with the corrections you discussed.
    I can see where some of the representations are limitations of the medium. Imagine how much more fiddly it would be if each bone were indeed represented; it's difficult enough to mount the actual skeletal remains, much less one crafted in another material...Some of your suggestions could probably be easily adapted into the patterning. (the breastplate and the hinge point on the mandible and modifications to the tail). Have to wonder if they'll produce a revised version..

    Random, unrelated comment, I did some thorough research and I may have "figured out" the niche of Dilophosaurus, based of it's spinosaur-like jaw and more conical teeth than other large early Jurassic preadators, I think dilophosaurus was pisciverous. As it's backward facing teeth and swooped jaw are common in pisciverous dinosaurs

  • @diogonunes1865
    @diogonunes1865 5 років тому +7

    Just a question that came to mind:
    So humans all those problems from walking on 2 legs because of all the bones on the feet, all the pressure the spine has to take, so did theropod dinosaurs have any similar problems due to walking on 2 legs? Or is there any fossil evidence of such injuries?

    • @specific3600
      @specific3600 5 років тому +4

      Diogo Nunes probably not; the evolution of theropods bipedalism was a lot simpler than ours; for starters their backs remained parallel to the ground as they walked, allowing them to have different adaptations to accommodate for balance (namely their tails). Since our bipedalism ended with our spines perpendicular to the ground (which also comes with caveats of its own), we ended up very top heavy and all of our balance functions had to be put into feet that weren’t initially adapted for balancing our weight.
      Hope that helps :)

    • @catsonmeth1
      @catsonmeth1 4 роки тому +1

      A lot of the problems we have now are less common in foragers. We don't walk much, and tend not to engage some of the big ass muscles used to stride. That makes it harder on us when we do walk, and that's compounded by our hard surfaces, which is why we need stiff, padded shoes, which causes other stresses in the foot and leg, etc.

    I have a question someone might be able to answer.
    So I've heard a lot in life about how the iconic Velociraptors from Jurassic Park/ Jurassic world are riddled with inaccuracy. Which I'm not here to debate. Anyone could find out that the largest velociraptor was the size of state fair turkey. But with discovery of specimens such as the Utah Raptor or Dakota Raptor. That makes me curious. Is there a raptor that is closer to Iconic JP/JW Raptors? I know that the franchise missed details such a feathering and greatly hyperbolizing their intelligence. But in the context of body size and dimensions. Which raptor would fit the roll of the movie raptors better than velociraptor?
