I love how elephants is the go-to measurement of dino weight
But what type of swallow... I mean elephant?
Indian or African?
I love that Giraffititan walk cycle! Your animations are getting better!
And I would like to see either Archaeopteryx, Quetzalcoatlus or Mosasaurus!
same
CJCroen1393 I see you everywhere
Ep. 21 is the Urvogel. We have to wait for Quetzalcoatlus and Mosasaurus.
And Sauroposeidon
Mosasaur can’t be in your ‘dinosaurs’ are wrong
Giraffatitan is my all-time favourite dinosaur. I'm currently 15 years old, and I grew up with the so-called "Brachiosaurus brancai" as the dinosaur that was the most fascinating to me (Although I only knew it a Brachiosaurus at the time). In later years, I finally realized that it was a completely different species and my love for the dinosaur carried over to Giraffatitan. So it's always been close to my heart.
Same story here! Albeit a couple years older, haha.
probably not an issue around this channel, but you should never state your age on the internet if you're still a teen or younger. you can say you're still in grade school to give context, but keep it as vague as possible.
So you're 20 now?
I'd love to see you tackle either _Megaraptor_ or _Giganotosaurus_; the former, especially, has some really terrible toys to dissect.
DastardlyRidleylash I only know of five toys for the latter, the two (terrible) Schleich toys, the Carnegie one (good representation of what people thought it looked like in the 1990s, now really outdated), the Papo mini one and the excellent Safari ltd. one. The skull is elongated and it might be too skinny in a dorsal view, compared to Scott Hartman’s representation. Though he did mention that if the torso’s width was inaccurate, it should be thinner due to the small pectoral girdle.
Megaraptor...wow, just wow. I agree with you completely, some terrible sculpts.
@@naingmon check out the eofauna one
You got your wish!
Wow, where was this during my childhood. Amazing. I would like to see Carnotaurus broken down.
I sent him a $25 Carno last year and never got it back. And I watched them open it
Henry Reed haven’t they done one now?
@@jdldrummer oof
They made the video, did you see it? It was a good one!
@@jdldrummer did you ever hear back from them? They did make that video!
Has to be one of my favorite toy intros, DID YOU SEE THAT TOTALLY RADICAL GRIND!
HAHAHAHAA! Seeing the super muscular neck was the best moment of my whole month!
10:15 - Tripodal feeding is "slightly up in the air"! Ha!
okay but are we just gonna ignore how awesome the name giraffatitan is????
When he says "It's tracking the movement of the continents with biology!" he sounds downright giddy. I love it
YDAW days are always good days. Love this series so much! The finished giraffatitan looks so cool.
Hooray! It's back!
Man, so many animals to choose from. Hey, how 'bout another non-dinosaur creature? Postosuchus, anyone?
well the tittle is your dinosaurs are wrong... so...
The Primal Earth -Dinosaurs, science, and more!
Eh, that's just for audience attraction. He's examined a pterosaur before, so I guess a rauisuchian wouldn't be out of the question.
Zaheer Shaikh, he also examined a non archosaur before. Dimetrodon is what I am talking about. Dimetrodon is a Synapsid just like how every mammal ever are synapsids.
What's wrong with dinosuchos?
Zaheer Shaikh agreed
So basically giraffatitan is slimmer, has more compact body, and a slightly shorter. Brachiosaurus has longer legs on the front, wider, longer body and tail, slightly bigger.
Oh my god I'm on UA-cam
This is you first time on UA-cam..?
LMAO
Ok...?
Hey
Welcome to depressing happiness
I got shamed in this episode :( Off to do some reading, now I guess.
Oh man. Make the series more frequent please! Haha
Could you guys make a video where you explain what dinosaurs were related? I really want to have an overall idea of the dinosaur family tree's structure
Do Coelophysis, Allosaurus, or the non-dinosaurs like Elasmosaurus, Mosasaurus or quetzalcoatlus :D
Liepluredon ( I think that's spelt wrong :P )
Can you do a video on a celopysis or the updated postasuchus or some rusasuichid . I just subbed. to this channel and it is very cool!
Only quetz or mosa
@@atrl7041 Yeah you did.
corythosaurus is practically the mascot of this series, pls make an episode about corythosaurus
12:24 the front view is something from nightmares
It is blowing my mind that the bracciosaurus toys and images I have had all my life, first of all were girafititan, and second of all got the head shape apparently wrong. That "iconic" head shape on that toy is how they have looked in every rendition i can conjure to mind.
The fact that they weight less then first though could explain how their necks would hold. Such long necks would be insanely heavy to lift.
Deinocheirus! That giant camel/duck/ostrich dinosaur whose name means "Unusual Horrible Hand"
I'm happy to live in such a time to enjoy this series. Top shelf material.
As a South American, I always remember Argentinosaurus, the LARGEST land animal to ever live.
The picture of Giraffatitan with the fucking massive thick neck was a lot funnier than it should have been.
These videos are extremely underrated
Giraffatitan has a long neck for the same reason that I like using chopsticks when I’m getting food with friends
I had always supposed that the brachi- in brachiosaurus meant short. Because its relatively short tail and diagonal posture makes it much shorter, front to back, than most comparably sized sauropods. The fact that the tallest sauropod was called "short-lizard" used to amuse me almost as much as the fact that birds are saurischians - which is another treasured fact that YDaW has stolen from me (as of Synapisode #3)
These are my favorite videos on UA-cam. I get so happy when I see them in my feed.
0:24 best figure introduction EVER
I literally just finished rewatching all of the YDAW videos yesterday. And right on time there is a new one! So happy right now
Tender guru... I saw what you did there ;D
btw, more recent volumetric estimates put it back at about 30 tonnes for the subadult specimen mounted in Berlin, suggesting 40-50 tonnes for the larger known specimens.
You should do a classic bipedal _Edmontosaurus/Anatosaurus_ toy. I would love to see that.
That would be nice it would be nice if he did ceratosaurus or parasoulophus(that how you spell it?)
Monolophosaurus Jiangi
Hello my _Monolophosaurus_ brethren.
I think he did _Parasaurolophus_ already if I'm not mistaken.
We actually did an episode on Parasaurolophus! I can't link in a UA-cam comment, though...
please come back to this series soon! Ive binge-watched the entire series.
Cool series, brings back childhood memories of being fascinated with dinosaurs
4:47 A bit like North American and Europe, then. Similar deer species, similar wolf species, caribou in both places, moose, etc.
Dude that ad at the end is epic
Although I'm not really into these types of videos, I kind of like the intro with the toy dinosaur though
The best dinosaur toy intro
I love this series. thanks.
Still not over the comedic timing of the intro in this one
I’m really impressed with the walk cycle at 9:30
I used to see your videos in my recommended. I thought they were bad but your videos are actually really good!
CARNOTAURUS!!! Definitely need some Carno love on here!!
Definitely the best series on UA-cam. I'd like to ask though how does sauroposeidon compare to giraffititan and brachiosaurus? I know we only have a few vertebrae but is it enough to safely say that Sauroposeidon is the tallest brachiosaurid? Thank you Steve, much respect
You are teasing me so much with that animation of Iguanadon over time in your credits! Please please please do an Iguanadon!!!
I gave this a like for that dope walking animation
great work with bone structures and animations ! awesome as always
The toy actually seems to be based on the "Brachiosaurus" skeletton mounted in front of the FMNH. The one with the horribly misarticulated shoulder girdle. God I hate that mount.
When I was in Berlin last week and saw the huge Giraffatitan there, they still called it Brachiosaurus on all signs. Except for one sign in the education part of the building they called it Giraffatitan aswell as Brachiosaurus.
i always get excited when i see a new ep of this!!
I would love to see you talk about Amargasaurus!!!
plese do quetzal
it is my favourite and you can buy a paperweight toy one on amazon and use it at work
Yes quetzalcoatlus is AWESOME!
Seeing this in my subscription feed made my day
I loved the animation ((as allways). And I've got some sugestions. I'd love to see an ornithomimos (or any of it's relatives) because tey are mostly represented as super slender skeletical iguanas with big legs. It would also be great if you did some non-dinosaur creatures that are also represented wrong such (mainly in other archosaurians).
I love you! Keep being so wonderfull. Much success :*
giraffatitan's face looks scary
Don't fragmentary remains indicate that Giraffatitan could grow larger then the (composite) skeleton on display in Berlin? They have a specimen (HM XV2) consisting of a fibula that is ~12% longer than that of HM SII (the mount). And there are anatomical features on the mount that suggest that it was not an adult specimen as there are some unfused bones that we know are fused in adult what was then believed Brachiosaurs. Relevant SVPOW article: svpow.com/2009/03/16/brachiosaurus-both-bigger-and-smaller-than-you-think-incomplete/
The takeaway: Giraffatitan was even more humongous than the already gigantic skeleton in Berlin implies. As were probably most sauropods compared to what we know of relatively complete specimens. We have huge Apatosaurus/Apatosaurine cervicals in Oklahoma, and stupidly large remains attributed to Alamosaurus.
As for the next dinosaur, some Oviraptorosaur/Caenagnathid would be interesting.
+Marcus Tullius Cicero You are correct. The giant sauropods are just crazy, aren't they? We get all these tantalizing hints of truly gargantuan animals. Thanks for watching!
love it. would love to see you cover archyoptarex or allosaurus
Yes!
Archaeopteryx* but yes so would I!
Your videos are super interesting and very calming. Thank you.
Finally! Nice to see a new episode.
I'm always dumbfounded about how these types of sauropods could balance with such a huge thick neck and a short body/tail.
+Nikolas Moore The neck appears thick, but was largely air sacs.
Which makes me wonder ... if Sauropods were able to keep their body temperature above the temperature of their environment, wouldn't the air sacs generate lift?
6:45 thicc boi
You, good sir, have won yourself a subscriber!
I would love to see you do one of sauroposeidon
Thanks for once again destroying my childhood.
I'd love to see you do the Crystal Palace dinosaurs. Megalosaurus and Iguanodon, as portrayed in the early 19th century.
Well… I always thought the brachiosaurus head in Jurassic Park was too big, but apparently it wasn’t that off as I thought (still maybe too large).
I really wanna see an episode about ornitholestes because it has always been one of my favorite dinosaurs but I can't find a toy to send in.
wow so information on one my two all time favorites my other favorite is the Giganotosaurus I would absolutely love it featured in your series
velociraptor would be great to see on the show!
"Tender guru"
I saw that you sneaky sneak
2:25 i didn't know Jake and Logan's dad worked with dinosaurs
Gasp!! Could you do Quetzalcoatlus? Especially the whole pole vaulting thing they do to get up in the air?
thanks for making this i love them
Now I can't stop asking myself: how did they sleep?
Micronaps that retain most motor function for posture but still clears brain waste sufficiently, would be my guess.
I’d assume standing like a horse
Thanks for this brachiosaurus was my favourite dinosaur but now I guess its girrafatitan
The wait is over! A new YDAW is here
Hate that annotations are dead. Really wanna follow those links.
You can follow them in the description
Do Megalosaurus and do one of those old Megalosaur toys that show it as a quadruped
5:12 Torniera is closer to Barosaurus than it is to Diplodocus if I'm not mistaken...
These videos are great
6:45 I laughed out loud
That intro makes me laugh every time.
Tender guru below Bellettini's name ... as in Tendaguru??
Carnivores You Should Do Megalosaurus,Allosaurus,Torvosaurus,Baryonyx,Giganotosaurus,Sinraptor,Utahraptor,Suchomimus,Deltadromeus(Bahariasaurus),Yanchuanosaurus,Carnotaurus or Acrocanthosaurus Herbivores Cetiosaurus,Corythosaurus,Dacentrurus,Ankylosaurus,Pachyrhinosaurus,Nasutoceratops,Tenontosaurus,Amargasaurus,Dracorex(Stygimolich),Isiasaurus(Titanosaurus Coloberti),Rebachhisaurus,Kentrosaurus,Wuherosaurus,Saichainia,Sauropelta And Gastonia
Dr. Tommy Oliver lied to me? D: Thanks for the brilliant video!
Just FYI the citation at 1:56 is not fully correct. German capitalizes nouns in sentences, it should be "Übersicht über die Wirbeltierfauna der Tendaguruschichten, nebst einer kurzen Charakterisierung der neu aufgeführten Arten von Sauropoden" (which means Overview of the vertebrates of the Tendaguru layers, in addition to a short characterization of newly described species of sauropods).
4:59 Wouldn't Barosaurus make a better comparassion with Torniera than Diplodocus?
+babehunter1324 Yeah, but I couldn't figure out whether _Barosaurus_ is still considered to be represented in both assemblages or not.
Feeding tripodly.... where do you land on that argument Steve?
"To scale, but evidently on stilts"
3:05 the subtitles say avian biologist. What?!
Maybe I'm missing the easy way to do it but animating all the continents around at the same time must have been incredibly annoying
If I ever come up with the cast of a Mesozoic paleodocumentary, then I would definitely set the obligatory late Jurassic episode in the Tendaguru formation (although that's just a pipe dream for now).
Can you do Miragaia longicollum?
That Berlin Brachiosaurus looked to me as a fake. Every bone seemed to be rounded, so they didn't look like the real thing. Ofc it was just the way they looked, they might be the real thing after all. Years tend to wear out the corners and edges.
I would love to see an episode about a troodontid, but I suppose there aren't many toys of them
Archaeopteryx or bambiraptor if possible. I love maniraptoriformes--my friend got me into dinosaurs again recently so I think it'd be cool if you could find a toy of a maniraptoriforme and see you review it.
it's be cool if you could do Megalosaurus. if only for the discussion on the crystal palace reconstructions
9:20 His foot looks shattered
