So glad you could join us for Paleo Rewind! It's so exciting to have had the chance to take part in this project with so many UA-camrs who have inspired me to create my channel!
If that's something you're interested in, at least one or two of the other channels involved in PaleoRewind this year already do monthly paleo news videos! Raptor Chatter is a good one.
always love when a YDAW vid drops and shows up on my feed :) I thank you for the details we never seem to get anywhere else. doesn't matter what dino you're talking about, i'm always fascinated....even when it's not "truly" a dino..... (still waiting for an episode on mosasaurs!!!! yes, i know they're not technically dinosaurs!)
Thanks for the contribution to the rewind ! Truthfully, I don't think i ever watch any YDAW video yet. But you sound like an interesting guy ; i'll check them out soon enough ! Ps : guys, go check April Part 1. Jimmy's a funny guy ; and made a great vid too !
"... and some math I won't pretend to understand..." 🤨 😄 Welcome to the club! 👋🙂 Great video! So, since I have nothing else I can offer, here's a like and comment for the Almighty Algorithm for you.
I remeber reading a computer modelled analysis where they took a little rattite bird, put it on a treadmill them made a simulation of it walking and running. Then reconfigured its body shape to be that of a coelophysis and then moddeled it witht he tail not moving, and then ran some simulations of it moving. The tail doing a figure 8 movement was like 40% more efficent than not moving. Although this was about balance rather than tendon power, so i think that when you throw a heap of elasticy tendons in there efficiency is going to be higher still.
Excellent video. It feels weird that another year has already gone by. Also the description weirdly says "We tackle the month of June with a review of some of its most interesting reveals."
Wow, evidence that non-avian dinosaurs weren't mindless killing machines and could easily coexist and exhibit gregariousness because they were living, thinking, sentient animals? What a surprise! /j Sorry, I just have to be sassy about this occasionally lmao. Awesome find, what a great year for palaeontology!
Personally, Tyrannosaurs being gregarious makes sense. Just look at pre contact canids. They were forced into groups because they were getting our competed by cats, who could apply 3 points of contact during a fight, using their rotating elbow joints. Canids can only establish 1 point of contact, their mouth/head. Very interesting
Lake Kivu in central Africa animals that come near are at risk of being asphyxiated due to explosive events of toxic gas. Maybe this could have happened to this poor dinos?
