It looks genuinely good, but I gotta skip on new versions of Unreal for the forseeable future, I'm in 5.4, and I plan to develop this game for years, A long time ago in the future when I finally make a new game in a higher version, they'll have this and a whole host of other developments I would miss if I used version 5.5, I think it's actually better to wait, but I envy these new features, motion matching looks so good and i'm sad I can't add it to my game, and there's other features with 5.5 that look really decent too. But anyway, I made my game in 5.4, there's no changing it at this point, and I'm happy with what I got for now.
@@MrBlueberry33 No, the game is 6 months into development, I have been working on it 70 hours a week, It has 600 gb of assets in the project folder, if even one of those was out of version it breaks my game. It's almost guaranteed to break it, and it's this close to Epic Games early access. I'd rather use Unreal 6 for the next game and not break the one I'm making. Switching versions makes sense EARLY in project development, late in development it's CRAZY.
This is honestly the thing I am most excited for in 5.5 haha
Same lol
You rock!!
Thank you! 😊
Did anyone notice that if you enable network lag (30-60 ping) client character will jitter?
you're the best! (ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)♡
Thank youuu 🥹
Hey, are you planning to integrate gameplay ability system with this? Would be very interesting to know, how to setup it properly 😊
That would be cool. Do a gameplay ability like cast a spell while moving or so.ething :)
@@roguepithlit 1000% waiting for that!
Yes I am 😎
Ooohh good idea! I haven't really seen much combat stuff with the motion matching project so im excited to see how that goes
@@CodeWithRo I try to occasionally suggest something good though I suspect my ignorance spawned this video in the first place :p
Can you use this for a commercial project?
@@GerlachGaming-rt3gj yes in unreal 🥳
How can I change the camera to a closer over the shoulder camera? I tried doing it but got lost in the camera implementation in 5.5
Open the sanbox character and move the camera over the characters shoulder 🥳
@CodeWithRo they have made a type of camera called gameplay camera that I couldnt modify from the blueprint directly
I’m thinking of upgrading for a project, is there any worry of prior plugins not working if they haven’t said it’s 5.5 ready?
Clone the project and try it out! They made it way better performance wise
does the updated version work the same for 5.4 ?
Yes it does 🥹

Just upgrade your project to 5.5. There are tons of tutorials online on how to do this. I've upgraded my 5.1 project to 5.2, 5.3, 5.4 and 5.5 today.

I feel you! No need to risk bugging things out 😎
