*FAQ*
*1) When is it coming out?*
I'm not really sure other than sometime this year, so just assume December 31st at midnight to be safe.
*2) Will it support custom assets?*
You can import your own custom backgrounds, evidence, songs, and sound effects. I'm working on custom characters, but they probably won't make it into the initial release.
*3) What platforms will it release on?*
It's going to be available on Windows and Mac.
*4) Are you going to add X to the game?*
If it's previously been in an Ace Attorney game, then I'll probably get to it at some point. For the initial release, the game will let you create investigations, cross-examinations, psyche-lock segments, and perception. If it hasn't previously been in an Ace Attorney game, then I have no clue.
*5) What song did you use for the trailer?*
I used Gyakuten Saiban 3 ~ Special Blend Mix! More specifically, the sections that play at around the 2:55 and 4:46 marks. Capcom used this song a lot while advertising the DS releases of the Phoenix Trilogy, so I felt it appropriate to use it as well.
*6) Are you worried that it's going to get DMCA'd?*
From what I've seen, Capcom hasn't really cared about fangames. Mega Man Maker, objection.lol, Ace Attorney Online, etc, have all existed for years without Capcom's intervention. I realize that by saying this I'm tempting the fates, but I'm not worried about a takedown notice.
*7) Will there be support for exporting scenes as videos?*
Not at launch. If enough people ask for it, it might get added in an update.
Will this be for the case creator only? Or can people play other players custom cases??

It supports custom evidence, backgrounds, music, and sounds. I'm trying to get custom characters working, but they might not make it in the initial release.

What's the premise? "Maya Fey is grilling burgers one night and flips a patty too hard, lands next door on the neighbor's in-creation bomb and the meat juice short circuits the whole thing and makes it explode?
So it is a fan game. Idk how to write cases let alone compelling ones, but indulging on all the character interactions I want to see does appeal to me.

3. Will it be possible to create playable cases? I mean will this be a ready game for download or will it only be on the website?
Answer to your second question
There is already a internet relay chat based on Ace Attorney called Attorney Online 2, or AO2 for short, you can play it on their website or download a client for custom content

Hmm. I wonder if this will take stuff from Ace Attorney Online, the forums, PyWright, and other sites/programs people have used for fan cases.
I loved playing through fan cases as a kid, though it was rare that anyone actually developed a full game instead of just a case or two.

I liked how you modeled this after the old English reveal trailers for the trilogy when they started releasing them in the West.
Last year I made something similar with Renpy for personal use, there was examinations with splashes, investigations, and working Clues Record. But this looks much better and cleaner, awesome job! Hope there will be a lot of customization!

I am definitely not opposed to this, nor do I mind waiting. Was meaning to start up the Ace Attorney games this year to begin with, so now is the time to jump in. And by the time I am done, this creator will be out.
A few questions
1. Is it just the AJ and pw trilogy ui or is there more / can we import our own
2. What minigames will be added in alongside normal cross exam, psyche lock and perceive
3. Can we make full games with this, or could we just make multiple individual cases
1. The final release will have styles for the Phoenix/Apollo trilogies, the Great Ace Attorney, the DS games, the mobile games, and Layton vs Ace Attorney. Custom textboxes is something that's planned but probably won't make it day 1.
2. I want to add all of them eventually, but cross examinations, psyche-locks, and perception are all that're gonna be there at launch.
3. Yes, you can make full games!

1) Can this be used for original games inspired by AA not necessarily regarding AA characters? Or does this work ONLY for fan games?
2) How will the fan cases made with this be saved/played? Using the engine itself or being able to save the fan case as a separate exe file?
3) What code does this use? Reverse-engineered code from Ace Attorney Trilogy HD or using original code made from scratch?

I was going to put psyche-locks in court for a fangame I'm making from scratch. Made a little 'Adagio' Cross-Exam song to go with it. Wanted to be the first and make it feel special.
Ace attorney was something that has always needed a maker made for it. I'd love to see the custom games people will make with it
