  • If you live with diabetes you probably know how important, and how challenging, it can be to keep your blood sugar within range.
And although you might have heard, the very well-meaning advice, to “just go for a walk” to lower blood sugars the reality is that many of us can’t just get up and go for a walk whenever our blood sugars are running high.
But there are things we can do to lower our blood sugars, even while sitting. In this video, I’ll show you 10 seated exercises and 2 breathing that anyone can do to lower their blood sugars.
You don’t have to do all the exercises but you can pick and choose, and even a few minutes can make a difference.

This certainly better than my sitting exercises. Mine consists of many regular elbow bends facilitating placing too much food in my mouth.

Thanks for the exercises. I will add these exercise to my Cubii that I have under my work desk. I wear ankle weights at work and peddle on my Cubii with them on.

How long is the appropriate exercise for DT1 in the gym that you suggest or you do.❤

I don't think there's a set gym session time. When it comes to resistance training, my focus is progressive overload, so either lifting heavier or more reps each time. I generally try to keep my sessions under an hour including stretching

Noted. I did do a video on dangerous high blood sugar where I talked a bit about diabetes ketoacidosis but a dedicated video could be a good idea

You need to tell your viewers that these exercises are for elderly females only. For males, ballistic exercises should be done to the point of exhaustion, rather than continued for some fixed amount of time. I need to strap weights to my ankles for many of these exercises, or else I will never get tired. To exercise my arms, I hold dumbbells for the same reason. Do you have enough space to do some of these exercises in your truck when you're at stops? It would also be great if you, every time you make a stop, could go from a brisk walk, it can be as simple as looping around your truck.
You probably also need to have a look at your diet. My buddy Ben Tzeel, RD gives some tips on nutrition in these videos:
