I used to buy a ton of items ON EBAY and then resell them ON EBAY !!!! ........ good on me I say !! I spent many many hours hunting out certain items and then reselling them at a profit ...... anyone who objects to capitalism is a fool !!
The only resellers I dislike are the scalpers who go into stores and buy out all the baseball and football cards and resell them for absurd amounts. They are always taking the whole racks. Leaving nothing. But these guys are cool.
Agreed. Short of buying anything directly from the manufacturer, everything is bought from a reseller. I mean c'mon, when I buy wood I'm buying only what I need from a hardware store, not the distributor or the wholesale lumber yard who can't be bothered by small retail sales. Resellers take risks, they buy items that might sell for a profit or be a loss.

From the thumbnail, I expect more of a confrontation. Note to yardsalers: if you’re not going to price your items, at least have a price in mind for when you’re asked.
Fair point. Some people are just not built to have yard sales… which is how they end up selling 15% of what they put out (and where 99% of the value was located).
He click baits always makes it sound way worse ..in another one he said woman confronts me and she barely spoke to him he's the biggest pansy attention seeker
When my mother or I have any kind of yard sale or set up at the flea market we have a binder with a list of most of our items with a price, we also include the lowest we’ll go on the more expensive or popular items
NOPE, price flipping on me after we agree on a price is a deal breaker. This is business money talks and BS walks. I would have declined the sale and walked away.
It really frustrates me to go to a sale and have to ask the price!!!! Why would they NOT have their prices decided before people get to their sale????? I do not understand!
Would you want to place hundreds of stickers on 50 cent items and above? It would be cheaper to throw it in the trash then to spend hours of your time putting a 10 cent tag on every single spoon. Most countries don't have a price. You negotiate. It means you can get a better deal. If not then tell them what you're willing to pay and watch them say "ok!". The problem here is she didn't know what she was willing to let it go for upfront. And agreed with her neighbor when she already agreed to a price.
@@kimbann9536 Okay. But but what yard sell only has 10 cent and 50 items? They will all vary dramatically if it's an estate/ house items sell. I rarely ever see stickers at a yard/house sell unless it's a table with all 50 cent or $1 items. Or a yard sell with very little inventory that you spend 5 minutes at and move on to the next. If any of my customers want me to spend hours tagging hundreds of items then I'd suggest going on Ebay with the price already listed and paying triple for it. Then wait 1 to 3 weeks for it to come. Go through his videos, he always has to ask the price. That's what negotiating is for. To get a good deal. You can buy 5 items and ask for a package deal. Chances are the homeowner doesn't know its true value or they'd sell it on Facebook marketplace, etc themselves. The only complaint was her having to go back and forth for 5 minutes while deciding on a price for something easy. She should have already had a price in mind when he asked. Then this wouldn't have happened.
I love the chair. People kill me saying that they hate resalers. You shop in resalers stores. When you go into a store and you buy something for $5 do you think that the owner of the store paid $5 ? No!! He probably paid $2 for it and sale it for $5 !!
the difference is the companies who are wholesaling for $2 KNOW that they are giving them a deal, it has been negotiated and it isn't some sleezy dude trying to make money off them in a disingenuous way.

I was thinking the very same thing. I would have told the garage sale lady "I'm sorry this lady REALLY wants them so I'm gonna pass... good luck with your sale!" 😊
Good Grief!!! The kid is selling her childhood dolls. She’s not a professional reseller and her neighbor was absolutely correct in helping her out with the price.
Garage sales are for getting rid of stuff u don't want . If u make a few bucks on it .good . But it's not for profit . Things are priced only what someone is willing to pay for it . I did alot of garage sales buying and selling .
$120 for all of the American Girls is a great price even if the neighbor interrupted. I'm a 53 year old lady and have paid that much for 1 doll. I like the dolls for myself. I like to sew pretty dresses and dress them up. Never too old to play with dolls. People do need to mind their own business though. I still think you got a super deal.
I know. I'm at that point in my life when I wish I had one. They were too pricey when my girls were small - we didn't have the money for them, but I love to sew....I should buy one or two and make them some clothes!
Resellers are heroes! They save cool items from the trash dump, and it is a win, win, win for everyone involved. The original seller, the reseller and the buyer. Some people are just sad, "bored with their lives" individuals, who get off putting others down because they are so pathetic in their own lives.
@@954MrSayre Just because we don't know the value doesn't mean he's overpricing. Just check out the ebay comps. What he sold for is less than half price of the ones available. Storing chairs also takes up valuable space
I will have to start going to yard sales and see what they have there. I do know some people really price the stuff super low in order to get rid of it and people like that neighbor understands how much it is truly worth, the yard sales I have had, I let stuff go for way less and was glad to give it to someone else and I was okay with that! Have A Truly Blessed Day and Night!
The neighbor wasn’t necessarily “wanting you to pay more” but was maybe just looking out for the seller, who seemed shy and unsure. They may have even talked about what to do if someone asked about some items… It’s important to look at all perspectives and not jump to conclusion that someone is intentionally out to get you…🤷🏻♀️
@barbiekat6352 You were doing the same by leaving a comment yourself, leaving a comment doesn't cost anyone money, so it's inconsquential. Butting into someone's sale cost someone money, so it actually affected something.
Garage sales are usually cheaper unless tagged or stated as such. Haggling is assumed, but don’t get butthurt if you don’t get you’re price. I’ve been to many high priced garage sales and walked away.
When someone has a yard sale... they are actually a reseller & when someone owns a grocery store they go buy their products for cheaper and they sell them for more so they are a reseller....Walmart would be a reseller....Dollar general would be a reseller....etc.... lmao 🤣🤣🤣..... Now at a yard sale the people who are reselling actually name the price so you were giving them what they want or they would not sell it to you ....so it's their decision to sell it for that price no matter whether you're a reseller or an individual.....(the good thing is because you are a buyer at a reseller's yard sale you are increasing your profit and usually the person selling it is losing value so the reseller that is buying at a yard sale or wherever is actually the smarter person in the situation...lol... Anyone can try anything, so why not? My father, a picker, will often see a big ticket item, we will use for example, an antique bookcase that he got me for Christmas, priced too high, and he didn't expect it to sell. He left it there, and after the sale was over, he went back on Sunday afternoon, asked them if they still had it and made them a much lower offer. I got my bookcase for Christmas, as you already know. I love it. Edit: By the way, he would have had to go back anyway, because he needed a trailer to pick it up.

Or what these scumbags do is show up at the end of your sale as they figure you don't want to store it or haul it back home if it's the flea market. I just tell these people to get lost
Not really. People who have garage sales are just trying to get rid of things that they don't use anymore. They are mostly selling things for less than they paid for them. There is no profit. Resellers are running a business of buying things as cheaply as they can to resell at a profit.
@@creepnasty5370 I agree. And what I like about buying from resellers is you’re pretty much always getting a better deal than if you bought from the company while also helping out the people of your community. That’s a win win!
In most cases the yard seller buys the items at top dollar trying to regain some of what they paid out. The dealers come around and try to buy things for pennies on the dollar to turn around and make profit. The yard seller didn't make profit. It's simply a recovery of a small percentage originally spent while downsizing. 🤔

After covid started inflation happened on most things. People are struggling. Costs go up. Yes even at yard/garage sales. Cars has seen major inflation due to less car inventory. Bottom line is most want to make money at their sales.
Pickers bring these items sprinkled around the country to selling platforms where anyone can find them. By the fact that they go for so much, it means they're hard to find, and valuable to the buyers. And buyers there can spend little time finding what they want, and have guarantees that the item will work.
It really pisses me off when people come along with “”I hate resellers…..”” why??? The person selling the stuff in the first place has the exact same right to sell it on eBay and get more money!!! Identifying the dolls is not difficult. We have 5, no I did not buy them, and I could help. Bitty babies were limited and I cannot believe they are going for so little. 🥲

There are so many of these types of Karens at the garage sales where I live. When they find out you're a "reseller" They start to up the price. I had someone check Ebay once on their phone in front of me and then changed her prices after agreeing with me.
You have to understand why people hate resellers though. Some people are able to get by because of yard sales and consignment stores and places like Goodwill. For years now, the prices have gone up and the only way to find good items is to be there when they're putting stuff out, and that's in LARGE part because people have made a living out of taking those deals and putting them up online for the most they can get out of it. My dad lived his whole life doing what you do, except he would mostly focus on antiques and sold them at flee markets (another thing that is trash now), so I get you making a living, but don't be down on people who don't like you for it. You are literally taking things from poor people; no way around it.
8:33 When the neighbor upped the price I would've walked away. I'd be willing to they wouldn't have sold those dolls. Only time I have an issue w/re-sellers is when they selfishly buy up everything to price gouge ppl online. To the comments demonizing the man of this channel while defending the lady because "she was just helping her neighbor not get scammed", you do realize that the young lady who sold the dolls is also a reseller lmao. It was rude for her to tell a customer one price only to increase it in front of him only after another lady butted in and told her to do so. Super bad business move and extremely disrespectful . She was lucky he still bought the dolls. I wouldn't have bought them after that unless she went back to the original price. That's a perfect way to lose a customer. Both him and her are resellers looking to make a profit, only that she was disrespectful. End of story.
I'll admit that was grimy but at the end of the day she's no more of a reseller than this guy is. And if he managed to have his way he would've just done the same thing. She was just an individual cleaning out her closet. These resellers popping up all over on youtube are not victims if someone gives them the slip in the price of an item. They literally do the exact same thing. This is why video games are gonna get more and more expensive than they are now.
@@paladinluke37 Im not saying he was a victim, not sure where you got that from. This is all about profit, sure, but there’s a way to go about it. The thing with reselling is that as long as there’s a market for it and people are willing to buy from resellers, resellers will continue to exist. If you want to blame someone, don’t blame the resellers, blame the demand itself. People can do what they want with their money. It’s capitalism. Video games are not getting more expensive because of resellers btw. Companies are just slimy and, again, as long as people are willing to buy those games nothing will change.

@@paladinluke37 Calling someone a victim because something unfair happened to them is not always applicable, that’s an extreme way too look at things. Most are at best, making a minimum wage living from it and at worst just making some side money. They are totally not the same thing as one person selling stuff that they buy or find, it’s a false equivalency.

I hate resellers too. They buy everything without even knowing what it is. And they don't even get to sell everything they buy. Because lots of it they are asking way too much
That's the exact opposite of what a reseller does . They have things they always look out for and they look things up in eBay by filtering last sold as they go . They only buy things that are an easy sell . So not only do they know market price really really well they also don't take unnecessary risks like you've described. Anything that can quickly be sold for a profit even if it's only five bucks here and there that's what they do.
@MikeHunt-lz2hq The ones I keep meeting at those places where they sell Amazon returns. They all just buy anything that looks expensive, and they really are hoarding all the stuff. By the time a regular person like myself comes in to look for a specific item, those resellers have already taken it. 😑
She didn’t just want you to pay more she wanted her neighbor (a young ignorant person) to get more and not be ripped off , should have done it prior to the sale …
I don’t like resellers either. When I go to my favorite thrift stores, they basically clean out the places and hike up the prices too. I collect for my enjoyment not to resell. If I need to get rid of something I usually donate it back to the thrift store.

Neighbors can be terrible, like the person they have on the home shopping network reacting to prices. All that for $5? They sell those for $40 at Wal Mart. One time the lady was talking loudly with her daughter who didn't realize we were there for the conversation when she posed as a buyer trying to cajole us into over paying.
I went to a garage sale once where they had a bunch of estate jewellery. There was a guy sitting down "valuing" the pieces and when I went to pick up a piece, the seller told me they were getting valued. At first I thought they had maybe hired someone to value them before they sell them, turns out he was just pretending to be a jewellery know it all so he could get a bargain. I've actually worked with Jewellery and would have been able to offer them more than what the guy offered. I was pretty pissed, not to mention how much of an insult it was for someone to not let me view the jewellery while the other guy was "valuing" them.
She had already laid out all the prices. 100$ for all the dolls and crib, the cubbie and the extra props were not included in that. He wanted everything but didn’t want to do math. Well, the neighbor did the math.
People that hold these garage sales need to remember that they are not MERCHANTS. If you're trying to sell your items for the same or more than you paid, you're running a STORE. ( list those items on eBay or go to a consignment shop). The point of a yard sale is to get rid of your items so that you do not have to bring them back into the house. If you are worried about reseller's, then, anything left after the sale, is either destroyed, thrown in a dumpster, or donated. Any utterance of the word "firm", and I'm heading back to my car.
This I can go on and on about the toxicity of predatory scalpers with pre-orders, new releases and contributing to shortages on high-demand items but garage sales are essentially temporary junk yards where the owners are looking to clean house and maybe make a few bucks out of it, who otherwise don't have the time or insight into what items are valuable to list on eBay or facebook. Who CARES if they're resellers? At the end of the day, you got the crap permanently out of the house and got some scratch show for it. Win/Win
The point of our yard sales is to get items we don't need anymore to people who can't afford to pay full price. If you're mad that a seller is firm on a $100 item that they are selling for 10 bucks, that's your problem. They don't owe you a living as a reseller of their items. Either pay the seller's price (which is already way under market value, which is why you're interested, right?) or walk away. Stop crying about your profit margin and pay the seller their fair market asking price, or come back at the end of the day and negotiate.
If your dog isn't friendly, there is literally 0 reason to bring it to a yard sale.
I love the yard sale organizer's dog. 🐕 So sweet. Didn't bark. Just took in all the loving.
I would NEVER bring a dog like that to a sale -- and I had a rescue that was a biter. I mean, if they were out on a walk and she just wanted to look, fine, but that dog was growling. That's irresponsible.

Would you want to place hundreds of stickers on 50 cent items and above? It would be cheaper to throw it in the trash then to spend hours of your time putting a 10 cent tag on every single spoon. The neighbor who interrupted really had a lot of nerve to interfere! I wanna go back and see if you had to interfere with me I might’ve been able to verify that they were really American girl dolls! She was a distraction! I’d still take the doll back to the people And get my money back for that doll!
Very interesting video. I may have reacted differently, but that’s me. I walk away from bad deals all the time. However, like you said, if you identify the dolls they could be worth quite a bit. Too much of a gamble for me personally, but I wish you good flips!
Exactly. I've declined and walked away over a $1.00 difference in price. Sometimes they call you back. I've softened up lately but your point is valid, do not always give in. And, don't buy dolls!
The doll deal was risky and should of only paid about 60 maximum for a better profit margin
@@trilliamc5185 I don’t see how he will make any money on it . It will cost 20-30 just to ship it and then eBay commission takes 10%
Identifying the dolls is not difficult. We have 5, no I did not buy them, and I could help. Bitty babies were limited and I cannot believe they are going for so little. 🥲
$75 would have been my price.. resell on them has went down considerably.
Lol if her increasing the price actually made you agreeing to paying more, then clearly she actually helped the girl, since you were apparently willing to pay more money on it. Don't get salty lol.
There are so many of these types of Karens at the garage sales where I live. When they find out you're a "reseller" They start to up the price. I had someone check Ebay once on their phone in front of me and then changed her prices after agreeing with me.
Wow, that's real talk. 😳 All Karen's need to get laid. Real Bad.
She probably saw the one guy asking $500 for an item that last sold for $75 and now wants $500.
A reseller hates a reseller wild😅
Those who actually have a business & work as an online store or even smaller, independent ppl who sell online I'm ok with. I have a big problem with the greedy ppl.
Ya handled yourself well, dude. I wouldn't have been as cordial.
Me neither I would’ve pulled“a Karen” and then lost the opportunity 🤬
What would you do? Fight her in someone’s yard sale?
super surprised you didn’t want your 50 cents change back for the vans 🤣. usually you’re like “ here’s a dollar, you said .50 cents for the shoes, you owe me .50 cents”
she happily distracted you. I'm sure Karen is satisfied,,.
Ngl 6:10 if I saw you do this at my yard sale I’d immediately call the police 😂 bc I forget ab re sellers and if felt so weird watching you lift her pants and shirt up and down. Lord ahhaa!
Those leatherette books in the box look like Franklin Library books. Some have good value
I have set up tables at several flea markets and when someone tells me to up my price, I stick to my guns. My sole purpose was to clear out so I can move and I needed to get rid of stuff.
the neighbor needs to walk away and mind her own business
@@adriana12995 Making it seem like she was unfair with the price change came off like he was a victim or something. Just saying it's profiteering and the guy is no stranger to it. And corporations that indulge in capitalism are seen as bad but regular folks who basically do the same thing aren't?
@@paladinluke37 Calling someone a victim because something unfair happened to them is not always applicable, that’s an extreme way too look at things. Victimhood requires an extremely unfair scenario which does not apply in this case. This was just a unfair inconvenience.
Individual resellers are just one person trying to make a profit and most are not becoming rich from it. Most are at best, making a minimum wage living from it and at worst just making some side money. Capitalist corporations are full of millionaires who often times engage in unethical and inhumane practices. They are totally not the same thing as one person selling stuff that they buy or find, it’s a false equivalency.
Oh, shut up. It was a child for goodness sake- stop acting like it was two adults who were doing the deal
Even though you paid too much for the fake AG doll. If you got the baby crib and bitty baby and two original AG dolls. You still got a good deal. Those were not the vintage AG dolls . One is newly retired. But she is common. $50-$75 on resale. Fun fact you can send them back to AG and they will restore and repair dolls for a fee.
First time I watched your video I like the way you deal with people and explain your haul at the end! I’m a new fan! I’m a furniture flipper myself. I refurbish old stuff. My hardest problem is asking for less then it’s worth…. But I’m getting better…
Quintessential ‘bored’ and/or ‘thinking’ white guy noise at 11:25 😂
She's trying to help her neighbor not get taken advantage of. She even says, "I've never done this before." She was only making sure you didn't take advantage of her first time.
thank you! i agree 100%. some resellers take are slick and take advantage of people doing yard sales. especially the ones that know that person has something valuable. some want something for nothing.
You can't tell immature grown people nothing. They could see that just like you can but instead, they'd rather put her down.
Americans can mind their own business. If the girl was selling them she should have done her own research on the worth. The neighbor is rude.
You can't go anywhere without running into a Karen lol. Great eye to spot the chair. Negates the doll!
I don’t like resellers either. When I go to my favorite thrift stores, they basically clean out the places and hike up the prices too. I collect for my enjoyment not to resell. If I need to get rid of something I usually donate it back to the thrift store.
Where can I find a affordable USPS or FedEx label printer? Can you do a video on your equipment? With links..
Guess what?? I love resellers!!! You guys and gals ROCK!! That's why this disabled 'ole' biddie lives her life vicariously through them!!😁😂😃😄😊🙂🤪

@@alexbrown5504 you are so very welcome, sir!😊
I almost exclusively sell American Girl and I think unfortunately it was a bad buy. I dont like to pay more than $20 a doll for common ones in off brand clothing. The generic dolls and clothing are worth next to nothing. People tend to want too much for these items since they have sentimental value most of the time.
That lady was really annoying, I was screaming mind your own business! 🤬
Oh man those American Girl dolls were a sweet find! 59yo & I still want them, lol!
The ones you have to drop kick in the face. But can’t because it would be assault and battery. I went to a flea market with the same problem. I wanted to legit take a golf club and do something I was gonna regret. But I held my composure and believe it or not the vendor was still firm at the price she gave me. But the fact that she followed me near everywhere i walked at….. I was about to call security.
You can tell from their chins. Idk they look so different. Also, some have a string on their neck. Older ones have the pleasant company
Frustrating? Yes! I can't 100% blame the neighbor though. I think she was ultimately trying to look out for the girl. I thought I heard the girl say "I have never done this before" after she upped the price. It's all a part of sourcing. Better luck next time. 🙂
She's selling dolls at a garage sale not gold bars.
Karen
@@danielt3903 She could be selling either one. It's a garage sale and a gamble anytime you go to one. If you don't like their terms thats fine. No one is forcing you to buy their items. It's sucks to walk away from good stuff, but if you can't meet up on pricepoints then be ready to walk away or make less money. All a part of the biz.
@@Cosmic_Corp Bad garage sales are all a part of the business. You are free to feel however you want. 😁
@@smdudek21 It's the equivalent of a street walker asking for online escort prices. If you're near a street selling goods and asking premium, it's time for a reality check.
I grew up in Lake City, FL but now I live In NC. Fu King has been part of the Lake City landscape for as long as I can remember and I am 55. They used to have a lot of pot luck dinners where my dad worked and one of his co-workers was Chinese. He would go to Fu King and get food and then put it in his own dishes and pass it off as home made. On one occasion, somebody said "That is some good food. You could not get anything like that at Fu King!"
On a side note, I love resellers at my yard sales because they buy stuff.
5:45 Fisher Price Loving Family can sell well in lots. Probably would have been worth a lowball on the box.
The books in that box at the last sale looked like Easton press books. Those go for a pretty penny!
Great video! I would have walked away from the dolls and said your neighbor seems to think there priceless so I'll let her buy them. When she seen she was losing the sell the Karen would have moved on and you could have got them for cheap!! Great sale on the chair!! Thanks!!😺
Yup, I would have said never mind after that lady chimed in.
Like chess set. The mickey mouse is cool. The chair will help out ease the pain on the doll stuff. I don't like when people interfere in other people's business. The Karen's of the world usually have things come back to them. The only things Karen's care about are themselves. You will do ok with the chair sale. You handled a bad situation pretty good. Thanks for your video.
True True
What do you do with the disney vhs tapes.
I have a pollyanna never opened. I have alot of original's and some that were recalled.
The neighbor probably knew that girl since she was a baby, and was just trying to help her out. Give her a break.
How are you recording this?
The chair you're thinking of is a Herman Miller and that, Is indeed not one of them
Thanks neighbor for upping the price. Had this same thing happen to me the other day on a video game lot SMH
This
I can go on and on about the toxicity of predatory scalpers with pre-orders, new releases and contributing to shortages on high-demand items but garage sales are essentially temporary junk yards where the owners are looking to clean house and maybe make a few bucks out of it, who otherwise don't have the time or insight into what items are valuable to list on eBay or facebook.
