"His Name's Chandler, Sean Chandler"
@@randallrutherford1384 I've been saying for years chandler should be next bond
Daniel Craig (He is my favorite and they gave him a fantastic arc)
Sean Connery (The coolest guy ever and his early performances show the character the best but Connery stopped trying at the end of his tenure)
Timothy Dalton (underrated as Bond, he is dangerous and I buy him, still I wanted more from him)
Pierce Brosnan (I love him but I don’t think he brings anything super unique to the role and they wrote him inconsistently)
Roger Moore (He is a ton of fun, not going to lie)
George Lazenby (He is awesome but he needed more time)
Nice list
How about The Best film of each era? If there was only one film you can say is the best from each actor with the exception of George Lazenby.
On point!
I hardly ever agree with a Yankees fan but you’re 100 percent right
@yankee 88 Agreed.
Moore often sacrificed believability for humor, because he felt the character was very unrealistic to begin with. He was essentially a light parody of Connery's Bond, and he thought that was the appropriate approach. I think for his age it made sense, and he succeeded in making Bond his own.
I loved Moore alot
I think he SAID that, but I'm not sure he meant it. I think Moore believed that he'd be the last Bond, and that he'd always be compared to Connery...and he clearly didn't expect to come out well in the comparison. So he was self-effacing in how he described his portrayal and his films. But he did quite well within the confines of the scripts....when the story called for light charm, or elegance, he could hold his own with anyone....but when it called for coldness or brutality, he was perfectly good, as well. The rooftop scene in The Spy Who Loved Me, or the moment where he interrogates Scaramanga's girlfriend...he is pretty convincing as a mean, brutish guy. Moore's films that he made after he got his bearings....The Spy Who Loved Me through Octopussy....are as good as any 4 movie stretch in the series, including Connery's first 4....
The James Bond actors ranked from worst to best:
1. They were all good.
The best thing about each and every Bond actor was that they all explored different aspects of the character. Loved them all.
Agreed
True
same
Roger Moore was the worst but he was actually great
@@wenshulee the spy who loved me and For your eyes only are the only 2 serious Bonfs he made out of 7 films. His other 5 were terrible.
Roger more doesn't get much love, so I'll speak for him. Love Roger Moore. For Your Eyes Only is one of my faves.
Agreed, love Roger Moore's sense of humor, and Carol Bouquet is the most beautiful Bond girl..
Roger does deserve appreciation as he took over the role when the world needed humor after the Vietnam War and the Watergate disaster. And of all the actors who have played Bond, Roger was the only one who enjoyed being Bond as every other actor came to hate the role
He is my favourite Bond
For me it would be either Sean Connery or Daniel Craig, my personal favourite film of the James Bond franchise is Skyfall.
Skyfall genuinely slaps ngl
A thing that people forget about _License to Kill_ is why Bond was ready to risk it all to avenge his friend Felix: he knows exactly what it feels like to have the love of his life snatched away, because it happened to him in _On Her Majesty's Secret Service._ So when it happened to his friend Felix he snapped.
My list.
1. Connery
2. Craig
3. Dalton
4. Brosnan
5. Lazenbury
6. Moore
But honestly Bond has never been miscast yet. All were wonderful in their way.
Agreed
Here's mine. number one Pierce Brosnan number to Daniel Craig. number 3 Timothy Dalton. number 4 Sean Connery. and number five Rodger Moore.
the top 4 is especially hard to order, but my personal favourite is Dalton. he's menacing and seemed to be the only one truly caring about his portrayal of the character, being found reading the novels on set.
Exactly same as mine except one and two are switched, nice
Lazenbury?
SΕΑΝ CΟΝΝΕRΥ was not only the first and most iconic Bond. He remains the best Bond (especially in the first 4 films which are called by the Bond community "the fabulous 4"). He could be dark and gritty and at the same time suave and charming. He seemed as dangerous, tough and ruthless as Craig or Dalton, without beeing depressing as them and with a lot more style and charisma. He could be witty, without beeing rediculous as Moore's portrayal. Cooler and more talented than Lazenby or Brosnan. Full of charisma and masculinity that no one else reached. His looks, his style, his moves, the way he delivered his every line and his coolness are unreachable. Sean Connery made James Bond: "the man that every other man wanted to be and every woman just wanted". Moore turned him almost into a "caricature", Dalton into a humorless person, Brosnan into a "videogame" and Craig into a depressive Jason Bourne alternative... (P.S. Sean Connery gave cinematic life to James Bond. Daniel Craig killed him!!!)
Agreed
Dalton was a lot more authentic to the source material. Having read the books before ever seeing one of the films, I thought Dalton was amazing in the role.
@@shittywheelies7403 Imo Dalton was dry, without the style and charisma. He tried his best indeed. He read all the novels indeed. But he lacked the style and he looked somehow "forced", A pretty good actor but not fully appropiate for that role. He did not had the coolness, the moves, the suaveness, the wittisism, the sophistication. He was without doubt an improval to Moore's Bond which had become a parody. He was a more dark and sensitive Bond. But could not reach Connery's "full package" of the character. For me Connery is more closer to Fleming's Bond (dark, gritty and dangerous) in the first 2 Bond films (Dr No - FRWL), a character which he improved cinematically in the next 2 (Goldfinger - Thunderball) by adding to this elements, a dark dry witt coated with venure sophistication, suaveness, charm, and incoparable style, without altering the tough and ruthless side of the character. Dalton himself admitted: «…I was asked, at least approached 3 or 4 years in the past and originally I didn’t want to take over from Sean Connery. He was far too good. He was wonderful… When you have seen Bond from the beginning, you don’t take over from Sean Connery» (Interview in Good Morning America, 1987). My best...
1 - Timothy Dalton
Always has been. Always will be. My first bond and licence to kill is my favourite 007 movie. He’s dangerous and is, as you said, just like a dangerous assassin. I feel like he’s a bond that would have worked really well in majesty’s if that were made in the late 80s. Dark as HELL and that’s what I like (although you wouldn’t believe me with my next choice). When I read the books, this is the Bond I imagine.
2 - Roger Moore
Just can’t get enough of the guy. Yeah, he’s not the closest to the books, and I like the books. I love the books. But for what he is, I really enjoy his portrayal and I love his campy movies and, while I can see why people don’t like them, they entertain me and are pure escapism.
3 - Sean Connery
Iconic and perfectly encapsulates the James Bond role. Why’s he not first? I just simply enjoy the other two more/ am more connected to them. Best era of movies imo and just perfect (but let’s not talk about THAT scene from Goldfinger)
4 - Daniel Craig
I REALLY want to put him higher but I literally cannot because I just like the others more. His bond is the most well rounded and best written character and that works so well for bond. What can I say. He’s just perfect all the way through. But I just enjoy the other 3 more.
5 - Pierce Brosnan
Very good and does play a very suave and believable secret agent. I like him a lot. Problem with ranking the bonds is that they are all good. But it just comes down to your own personal taste. I like him. He works. I enjoy him. But not as much as the others. But I do think his accent is a bit *too* American at times (despite being Irish) and his films do sometimes just come down to *shoot machine guns for 10 minutes*
6 - George Lazenby
Works well in his movie and I think people are a little too hard on his acting. Yeah, he’s not an actor (and that’s clear) but I’m always surprised by how well he does. Great, emotive movie though. With more movies, he could have been 5th. (Also worth pointing out that I think lazenby looks the most like James bond)
My top two is reverse of yours as I enjoy Moore for his campiness and suaveness, but I enjoy Dalton for his ruthlessness and persistence. My top two favorite movies are FYEO and TLD in that order because the plots and soundtracks are the best I have heard.
My only issue with Craig's era is he's never really bond he's either becoming bond or retired the whole series lol.also I think they went to into his backstory so much so I hope the next bond they kind of keep it a mystery.
I think that’s what makes him the best. They brought mystery to the character because of that. Instead of having the same old bond, they changed him into a much more real character who sorta loses sometimes.
That's what Craig's Bond makes so special that he's not Connery or Brosnan 2.0 but a new interpretation of the character
This list has my approval

Lazenby above Dalton and Brosnan? im not one of those Lanzenby haters. his film is my 2nd fav of the franchise, but Dalton is the most serious, most menacing, truest to book rendition, while brosnan the most charrm, even more than connery because connery stops caring in You only Live Twice and Diamonds are

5. Pierce Brosnan (enjoy the balance between dark and quippy, but was placed in inconsistent quality movie)
4. Roger Moore (I love the flat-out goofiness of this version and Moore absolutely embracing the silliness)

2. Sean Connery (the coolest and most iconic James Bond)
1. Daniel Craig (loved the exploration of character and giving him an arc from beginning to end)
Bond isn't meant to be an assassin, he's a spy, a chameleon of personality, who walks like a panther and and isn't afraid of killing
Being an assassin is what he is asked to do sometimes.
He was an assassin ever since Dr. No
@@mblair5327 no, an assassin is someone who is assigned targets to kill, bond is a spy, an infiltrator who kills if the mission requires it, it isn't the subject of his missions

Love your list. Pierce Brosnan will always be my Bond even though his movies may not have been the best (aside from Goldeneye, which is amazing) I think it was the fact that Goldeneye was my first bond film and I used to spend hours upon hours playing the Goldeneye 64 game.
He's mine too
ROGER MOORE WAS IAN FLEMING'S FIRST CHOICE FOR BOND!! Moore was tied up with a TV show so they went with Connery instead. (this same thing happened with Brosnan who was meant to star in TLD, LTK, and the unreleased POAW). I think Brosnan is the best as he does the serious and cheeky stuff equally well; unfortunately he got bad scripts and rushed movies until his untimely firing.
David Niven was Flemmings first choice. He didn't like Connery until he saw Dr No.
@@williamwalker5244 Partially true. Fleming was involved in the film during its production and fully convinced with Connery after the first screen test. And prior to that Fleming was looking at nearly every major star as being a potential bond lol. He said Richard Todd would be perfect, as well as Carey Grant, Richard Burton etc. Niven had the looks of Bond in the books, but was never a serious consideration since he was already 52 at the time. Moore was the only Fleming pick that was a contender in terms of age and budget.

I suppose it really does come down to whether you like a Cinematic Bond or Bond of the Novels
If I watch a Jason Bourne movie for example I want to see an ultra driven serious character doing all he can to put all the pieces together from his past, I DON'T want to see women, charisma, 1 liners, cool, suave, panache, sophistication, Armani etc

@@drachireidnoc6659 Dude, I'm talking about Sean's list. And it's OK to think that Craig is the best Bond. If Connery is your favorite, that's fine, but not everybody shares your opinion.
@@brucesimmons5517 and not everyone shares yours hypocrite
For me it's:
1. Daniel Craig, GOAT, most badass and gritty Bond, also he had an ongoing character arc throughout his movies
2. Sean Connery, Classic Bond, enough said
3. Pierce Brosnan, most nostalgic, I watched his movies first and love his charm the most
4. Timothy Dalton, I feel like he got everything right except he lacked some of the charm for Bond, also only 2 movies
5. George Lazenby, I thought he was great, but only 1 movie, though it was pretty good
6. Roger Moore, he didn't feel threatening tbh, I still liked his movies for the cheesiness, kinda like the Adam West Batman, most his movies were honestly enjoyable, but silly
I will forever be a Brosman fan. I'm always more of a fan of the suave kind of bond which i think he's the best at rather than the badass one. It's funny because he has the best Bond movie in my opinion and the worst (being goldeneye and die another day.)
100% The Best
I haven't seen every movie, here's my list based off what I have seen:
1. Daniel Craig
2. Sean Connery
3. Pierce Brosnan
4. George Lazenby
5. Timothy Dalton
6. Roger Moore
I have to say that I disagree but that’s cool because everyone has different tastes, especially with this film series.
My Personal Ranking:
1. Roger Moore
2. Pierce Brosnan
3. Daniel Craig
4. Sean Connery
5. Timothy Dalton
6. George Lazenby
I really like all of them. 1-5 are all very much god tier Bond actors for me. Lazenby is the clear bottom for me but I still think he was a great choice for the role specific to OHMSS.
Brosnan Moore Connery Dalton Craig Lazenby
Great Video Sean! Here's My Ranking:
1. Peirce Bronson
2. Daniel Craig
3. Timothy Dalton
4. Sean Connery
5. George Lazenby
6. Roger Moore
Brosnan
Moore
Connery
Funny how the current Bond always dominates lists like these. *cough* Recency Bias *cough*
BTW, you can't argue that Roger Moore is harmless and jokey and then argue that him seducing a virgin to get information from her is too dirty and out of bounds.
1. Daniel Craig (no question)
2. Sean Connery (second best
3. Pierce Brosnan (he had bad movies, but he was great)
4. Timothy Dalton (He was basically the Daniel Craig of his era)
5. Roger Moore (Too Goofy but I respect him, he looked like a good Bond)
6. George Lazenby (Mans good but I didn't get to see much of him)

My list
1. Roger Moore Played Bind as it was supposed to be..
2. Timothy Dalton The coolest guy
3. Sean connery No flaws and tough
4. The rest...also good
1 Pierce Brosnan (My personal favorite of all the Bond actors, he was suave, good looking, funny etc)
2 Sean Connery (The original Bond is amazing and brought the character to life)
3 Daniel Craig (He gives a great performance in all of his films except Spectre)
4 Roger Moore (I personally like Moore as Bond, then Octopussy happened and gave bad performances in his last 2)
5 Timothy Dalton (He had 2 great films but again he only did 2)
6 George Lazenby (he only did 1 film so that's why he's at the bottom)
Brosnan
Moore
Connery
Dalton
Craig
Lazenby
Brosnan will always be #1 for me
To me Moore is very believable as this professional agent who can separate his emotions from the job, hence why he mostly comes of as composed and laid back. Roger Moore himself said in an Interview that one characteristic from the books he took to heart was "Bond did kill, but he didn't enjoy it". That is why I like how he doesn't really has this deadly assassin vibe.
But my Ranking:
1. Craig
2. Moore
3. Connery
4. Dalton
5. Brosnan
6. Lazenby
2 and 3 are pretty interchangable. And I do like them all and enjoy all Bond movies. Haven't seen No Time to Die yet though.
My Ranking is:
6. George Lazenby
5. Roger Moore
4. Timothy Dalton
3. Sean Connery
2. Pierce Brosnin
1. Daniel Craig
Brosnan
Moore
Connery
Dalton
Craig
Lazenby
My list:
1. Sean Connery - Daniel Craig - tie for first. (2 different time periods)
2. Timothy Dalton
3. George Lazenby
4. Roger Moore
5. Pierce Bronson
Truthfully I like them all. They all made films I would watch.
Brosnan Moore Connery
Never did like Roger Moore as Bond but he was amazing as the Saint in the TV show of the same name
1. Connery
2. Dalton
3. Brosnan
4. Moore
5. Craig
6. Lazenby
Timothy Dalton was a great Bond, he just got bad luck of fairly crappy films, but I think he would make an even more amazing Bond (maybe the best) in his older age.
1 roger moore
2 Sean Connery
3 Daniel Craig
4 Tim Dalton
5 Brosnan
6 lazemby
I'd swap Daniel and Rodger but those top 3 are close
6: George Lazenby
5: Timothy Dalton
4: Pierce Brosnan
3: Roger Moore
2: Daniel Craig
1: Sean Connery
Hey Sean, another great list as always, it’s also my birthday today. (12th October)
For me: Craig, Brosnan and Connery can all be considered genuine contenders for number one.
Have you watched Brosnan lately. His films are so silly, and he runs like Cary Grant. The sexual dialog is just so childish too. And, Madonna.
@@putinscat1208 For sure his last 3 movies aren't nearly as good as Goldeneye. But I'm not speaking about the movies.
This ranking is purely about the Bonds themselves. Brosnan was a relay good Bond in not-so-good Bond movies.
@@michaal105 I was watching the beginning of Goldeneye recently. He jumped off a cliff and caught an aerodynamic plane that was over the cliff before him and had an engine. Then, he was being evaluated by a plain English woman that never gets laid. He starts chasing another lady in a fast car, and the music that was playing was like some Rap/Sexual Orgasm noises. I had to turn it off. Tomorrow Never Dies and The World is not Enough are the better movies, but they still have issues. And the, "I guess Christmas comes twice this year", while on top of the nuclear specialist was a low point. And Q always sending robots, or IR satellites peeking on Bond were my complaints about Moore's films.
@@putinscat1208 Brosnan Moore Connery Dalton Craig Lazenby, there is a big gap between Connery and Dalton
i love how craig adapts from his mistakes. that's why he's my favorite followed by brosnan
I’m really starting to love this channel. I feel like we have similar tastes as bond fans
Remember, Roger Moore was the original choice for Bond, but he couldn’t get out of his contract with The Saint. Bond got campier in the’70s, including Sean Connery’s Diamonds Are Forever, possibly the ’60s Bond movies were easy to parody their seriousness.
1) Sean Connery
2) Daniel Craig
3) Roger Moore
4) Pierce Brosnan
5) Timothy Dalton
6) Greorge Lazenby
Roger Moore was most definitely not the first choice. Stanley Baker and Patrick McGoohan were ahead of Moore.
I’ve read that several actors were auditioned, but Patrick McGoohan turned down the audition for moral reasons and turned the opportunity down again for Live And Let Die. Stanley Baker wouldn’t commit to a 3 picture deal. Roger Moore never got an audition, because he wasn’t available due to The Saint commitment.
Spy is Roger's least obnoxious performance
My favorite is 100% Daniel Craig, then Sean Connery, then Timothy Dalton, then Pierce Brosnan, then Roger Moore, and then George Lazenby.
Great list!
I might do a Bond marathon now to see if my ranking changes but right now:
1. Daniel Craig
2. Pierce Brosnan
3. Timothy Dalton
4. Sean Connery
5. George Lazenby
6. Roger Moore
Brosnan No1
Sean Connery the best the way he spoke how bad ass he was just everything he’s the best
I definitely agree that Craig was the best. Sure the light-heartedness and humour of Bonds from the past was nice and all, but just for my own personal taste, I absolutely LOVE the darkness and depression of Craig's Bond. The vulnerability and seriousness of his character put him way over the top the other Bond's for me. Dalton kind of did the same, but to me, he took it too far at times. He somewhat reminds me of Steven Seagul who I madly dislike. Of course, he doesn't go nearly that far into the "phony action man" as SS.
Sean will always be the greatest. I don’t see that ever changing!
6 pierce brosnan
5 George Lazenby
4 Timothy dalton
3 sean connery
2 Daniel Craig
1 roger Moore
Roger Moore is my favorite
As much as Lazenby was a bit of an arse, I give him props in making Bond more human, it made his film better and more interesting with age.
Fun fact: Lazenby forced the director to include Bond crying at the end of the film, the director didn't want Bond to show any emotion, but George insisted.
Wow!
I have the same ranking as you only the bottom 2 flipped
I only say Brosnan and craig as bond and I would go brosnan with his cool gadgets
100%
To be honest, I have not seen all the Bond movies because there are too many of them. However I have watched all of Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig, and Roger Moore Bond movies. Pierce Brosnan was my introduction to Bond, so his Bond was the Bond I grew up with. Die Another Day and Tomorrow Never Dies were hands down my favourite Bond movies mainly because of Bond teaming up with Halle Berry and Michelle Yeoh. I rewatched both of them constantly. I also loved Skyfall, but the rest of Daniel Craig's Bond movies were kind of so-so for me including No Time To Die which I just finished watching. My dad is a huge Bond fan and he has watched all 25 movies and for him, Roger Moore was his most favourite Bond actor out of all of them. So he introduced me to the Roger Moore movies and I loved them because they reminded me of Pierce Brosnan's Bond. Jaws became my favourite Bond villain.
Brosnan for me
