I love videos where Sean criticises films rather than praising them
They're also a lot more fun to write.
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout lol I bet
Hahaha
Sean Chandler Talks About You sound like Ego at the end of Ratatouille 😂
@Theodore Burdenski it’s true.
Praising requires empathy with the film maker and cast whereas complaining is the opposite, and humans generally go for the easier, safer option so it makes sense
It is funny you hate The Mist’s ending. It makes me love the film.
I hate that ending worst ending I have ever seen
I’m with Christian. That ending is wild!! Bold in the best way!
@@colbsbulbsmedia same here man, I really like the ending too sometimes life is really not good and the ending is unique
It wouldn't have been so silly to me, if the army didn't show up literally SECONDS after they did it lol XD it came across as just more silly than anything. I agree it was a bad way to end it.
Same dude the ending is the best part imo. Stephen king even said he wished that was the ending he wrote
Wonder Woman should definitely be on this list, it could’ve been one of the best superhero origin movies but the ending ruins the theme and pace of the film
wonder woman or ww84?
Preach
I'll take the ending of the first over 84
No because it doesnt make everything else in the movie worse or have less impact. It doesnt ruin it, its just bad.
@@Saltyaf38 Fair enough
I wouldn’t say that the ending of The Mist was bad, I would say it is more disturbing
You're not wrong.
But the ending causes me to not rewatch the movie. Thus it's inclusion
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout Disturbing the ending was, made me sick to my stomach. IF ONLY HE HAD WAITED AT LEAST 30 MORE SECONDS OR SO!!
Disturbing and Depressing is the way to describe it
I actually think the ending was brilliant. King's novella doesn't have much of an ending and the movie needed one. Darabont's ending actually becomes the film's message. Thomas Jane's character's sin was in giving up hope. As long as there is breath, there is hope. He forgot that.
A lot of these endings were all mistakes by the directors, but the ending for The Mist definitely wasn’t a mistake, the director definitely wanted to tear us apart
I approve of this channel
God knows everything
@@Try-hard-emily Bruh that’s Dumbledore from Lords of the Rings smh
I do not approve of God acting superior...
@@indiecinemaster4699 but im not acting superior i just said i like this channel
@@abandonedaccountstopfillin9908 It's a god joke...
My main problem with the Glass ending is David's death, apart from that I didn't mind it tbh
Or the fact that you spend the entire movie trying to convince the main protagonists that they dont have powers when we already know as fans that they do.
Same. Honestly I thought the rest of the third act was the best part of the movie.
@@SuperMurray2009 FACTS
Tbh I thought the movie just sucked so I didn’t really care by the ending
most pathetic death in movie history
The ending of The Mist was great, it shows what will happen to you if you give up.
The message is: Don't give up.
Thanks for reading my mind.
I understand your opinion but surly it fails as a good film if it’s message takes precedence over the characters and story ? Thus ruining rewatch ability.
I got a different message and it's "There's nothing to fear as much as fear itself. It makes you do the most horrible things".
can you do a list of movies saved by the ending? The ones that comes to mind for me is the Phantom Menace or attack of the clones
Yes!! Duel of the fates singlehandly counteracts any bad in that movie lol
The ending couldn't save that horror show, nothing could
Yes
Probably Jurassic world fallen kingdom for me
Maybe the ending of The Crimes of Grindelwald for me
Obviously with a list like this we're going to DISAGREE a whole lot. Bold endings tend to be polarizing.
I totally get why people love the ending for The Mist. But I also think it's obvious why how far Darabont took things would alienate a lot of people. At the end of the day, I go back and fourth on what i think about the writing of the ending. But the reality is that the ending causes me to NOT rewatch the film. Thus it's inclusion on the list.
I don't fully understand why more people aren't bugged by US. I get what people love about it. I'm not sure why more people don't take issue with the leaps in logic.
I liked glass up to that ending. So underwhelmed. All though I kind of liked Kevin’s death he finally died knowing he had someone who cared about him.
I completely agree with US. I will not watch that movie again because of that ending. I was so excited about that movie and the ending ruined it for me. I was so excited to see Get Out too, but the ending for US made me not want to watch Get Out. I feel the same way about Glass. I loved it until the ending. I cursed at my tv for a good hour after watching that ending. That one hurt the most.
@Sand Cat It's interesting how we all see the same movies and for whatever reason sometimes stuff bugs us and other times it doesn't
The ending of The Mist makes me not want to watch it at all lol. I was spoiled the ending and it sounds really sad.
I also thought the ending in Us didn't make much sense and everyone around me thought it was amazing. Glad to know I'm not alone.
Edit: Also, how did Iron Man 3 not make the list? I thought the first and second acts were great, but after the Mandarin reveal, it morphed into my second least favorite Marvel film, aside from Thor: The Dark World.
I feel like you should do a video like this for TV shows
Stranger Things got ruined with s2 and s3
Oh no , I think you want this video to happen because you want to see him rank game of thrones ending
Yeah I number 1 would be How I Met Your Mother
1. Dexter
2. Dexter
3. Dexter
4. Dexter
5. Dexter
6. Dexter
7. Dexter
8. Dexter
9. Dexter
10. Dexter but in 10th place
Gotham that mustache on Ben Mckenzie 🤢
Are you kidding me the mist is easily one of the best endings ever.
I get why you love it. I think it's also obvious why it wouldn't sit well with a lot of people
I agree the Mist was perfect with the ending. I was in shock after that scene.
It such a great endingb
Stephen King himself says that he wished he'd thought of that ending.
Amen to all the comments.
#10 The Village (1:26)
#09 The Wolverine (2:33)
#08 The Hancock (3:59)

#02 Matrix : Reloaded (12:27)
#01 Glass (13:39)
thx my guy
A lot of people think that IT is Stephen King’s best book, but it doesn’t have a great ending. They some how made the ending worse in the movie.
Could You Do Top 10 Movies Saved By The Ending?
Great vid, love these simple but watch worthy video concepts
Never been here this early :). Love you Sean, keep it up
Appreciate it
thanks for posting, I needed this in my life rn
I love your new intro
Thanks
I really enjoy that you’ve put sections in the vid thanks sean
Omg creative video after creative video! This is a great topic! Keep this stuff up man awesome job
This is a great idea I had 😜 still surprised it won the poll but this video totally delivered what I wanted!
Me making my list before finishing the video
5. Law Abiding Citizen
4. Terminator 3
3. The Cube
2.Wonder Woman
1. Us
For me, Law Abiding Citizen is a 5/10, but I hate Jamie Foxx's character because it's his fault why some things went awry. I felt more for the villain than I did for the protagonist!
With Us, I have to let it sit on me for awhile. It does a trope that I hate: allowing the bad guy to get away. I don't know how to feel about the fake Adelaide. The way she was smiling, I wonder that "do you even care what you did? Haven't living with the real ppl made you sympathetic towards you abandoning your own?" I don't hate it, but it may be a little overrated for me. Your thoughts?
What's wrong with Law Abiding Citizens ending?
Why the cube
@@ninjanibba4259 It makes no sense that Jamie Foxx and the other agents found the bomb, grabbed the bomb, put it in Gerald's Butler's cell, when they were already behind him by miles.
@@50.CalFilms This might sound petty but. They make it to the end of the Cube only to not go through the last door long enough for Quentin to stop them
I personally think the ending to The Mist is one of the best endings I've ever seen, but I completely understand why some people hated it.
And I totally get that. Frank Darabont did something bold and he followed through on the bleak ideas he was presenting. For me, he took it too far. I think I could take being stabbed in the back. But the twisting of the knife is what I'm not crazy about
Saw the video topic and thought "Man I hope Village isn't here" then BAM haha. Great vid as always. I love the Mist ending. Biggest example I can think of for a bad third act is Baby Driver. Us definitly for me too.
Glass made me so mad by the end that it almost made me want to punch the TV. 😂😂
Lolol 😂
An absolutely fantastic video Sean! Loved it!
I really loved all your cutaways in this video Sean! Loved seeing Tommy Boy and UHF highlighted. Funny stuff.
Love your shirt Sean!
The ending of “The Mist” is the best part.
Interstellar is the only movie I liked until the end for me most movies cant be ruined by just an ending .
Interstellar is amazing beginning to end for me
Interstellar is one of the only movies I think got ruined by the end it made it one of my least favorite Nolan movies
Great video Sean!
Awesome job as always Sean!
Cool video looking forward to the Blu-ray collection
I loved Us. And I loved the ending
I do too!!!
It sucked
Sameeee
I thought the ending was the best part.
Thank you for doing time stamps!
Nice Video idea. 👌
oh my god your videos are so good!
This list is SO on point! Haha. I agree with everything except maybe The Village, which I hated the ending the first time, but have warmed up to it. I would also add (HOT TAKE 🔥) the 1st Wonder Woman to this list as well. This was a great video Sean! 😊
I really love this kind of videos 💓
I agree except I only like the opening sequence of Glass.
The one that suffers the most from this is Superman The Movie imo. I always despised how lazy it was and how little sense it made, especially since it undoes everything Clark learns about his powers not being enough to save everyone.
Great video 📸
My top 5
1. Rise of skywalker
2. Shrek ever after
3. WW84
4. 2001 a space odyssey
5. Little shop of horrors
Great List, When I first saw the thumbnail I got really excited because I've been waiting for this video for a long time, here's my list
Honorable Mention:
Nightmare on Elm Street 1984
10. Die Hard 3: With A Vengeance
9. Arrival
8. Scream 4
7. The Game
6. Us
5. No Country for Old Men
4. The Village
3. Law Abiding Citizen
2. I Am Legand
1. High Tension
Now do a Top 10 Best endings Please and I will be even more happy and I have always loved the music at the end😊.
I haven't seen some of those movies but totally agree about #3 and #10.
I think Law abiding citizen has the worst ending I've ever seen, I loved that movie until the end totally ruined it for me
Yeah! It felt like Jamie Foxx's character didn't really learn anything. It was his freaking fault why Gerald Butler's character became a villain. It could've been a great critique of lawyers needing to look out for their clients and not worry about winning cases. But nope!
Hey sean what are your thoughts on seth MacFarlane?
"The Mist"'s ending was so good, even the King himself regrets not thinking of it at the time of writing the short story.
My thoughts exactly...so tragic. I loved the ending, and the fact that the Army shows up 30 seconds later only made it more poignant.
I love the Village! The ending is my second favorite M Night Shamylan twist. Number 1 best twist is Unbreakable though
For me, I believe that Cars 3 was completely ruined at the end. The entire movie was building up for Lighting McQueen’s redemption in the age of electric cars, and yet they put Kruz in the race instead, completely undoing all of Lightning’s training throughout the film
Hey Sean, could you do a ranking of all of Bong Joon Ho's movies? He's such a talented director and even his worst films are still good movies. Anyways great list as usual, keep up the great work! 👍
Good video! I have to disagree with The Mist and Glass personally. I would also add Grand Piano if I was making the list, the whole movie is this amazing suspense thriller and then that part ends very anticlimatically and it turns into an action movie out of nowhere.
Great video
YESSS I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS BECAUSE OF MY COMMENT but thank you so much sean chandler for adding video chapters for 10-1st place so i can skip the movies i don’t know unless i wanna keep watching
I literally am never watching another M. KNIGHT movie. Like that’s it. There should be a petition for him to bot be allowed to make movies. That’s what GLASS did to me. That ending was atrocious!
Old is a great movie in my opinion.
How many patreons do yo have, like to know.
Please give us your take on *The Little Things* - as it looks to be a film that audiences are thus far liking more than critics.
How does he come up with all these great ideas for vids, man?
Please do a video about the TV shows ruined by a bad ending🙏🏻
Cool list. I completely agree with you on Us, putting message over story doesn't work. I also agree about The Mist, I personally hate endings that are just despair. An ending I absoultely hated was The Grey, the wolf horror movie with Liam Neeson. I was loving that film until the last 15 mintues, what made it worst was they showed some of the ending in the trailer and cut it! Keep up the good work Sean.
I happen to agree with your list. I had a feeling that alot of people would have something negative to say about the mist being on here.
I really enjoyed the ending of Us being really unique and different. Especially with how the film is a visual metaphor.
Although it's in my top 5 favorite Pixar films, "Toy Story 4" is the only film I saw in a theater where I didn't like the ending :/
Love your JP shirt.
Do top 10 bad & Good series Finales Episodes To TV Shows
Could you do your top ten funniest movies think that would be a good one😉
For me the plot twist at the end of last Christmas ruined it for me
Sean what 007 Quantum Of Solace and Taken 2+3??
I don't know man. I loved the ending of Us, but I respect your thoughts
I know sometimes Sean encourages disliking the video if you don’t agree with him… But come on that’s really petty, respect his opinion
For me the ending US is fantastic like watching two great actors facing off against each other but the two great actors are Lupita nyongo
Glass, Law abiding Citizen, Watchmen, The Village, The Purge, X Men Last Stand, Children of Men, and The Mist 2007
Only one I disagree with is Us, I thought the ending was really cool and different. other than that very decent list
Same i loved the ending of Us and the ending ties into how the film was a visual metaphor.
You be you. But for me, I just felt miserable for that ending becoz I like Jordan Peele as a director
@@noobmasterruben5167 I can agree that get out was way better than us, but the ending wasn’t the reason for me.
This might be a hot take, but I didn’t mind the ending of it chapter 2 until the dude started shrinking and got his head stapled to his weird structure thing. I thought the insult thing was okay because it’s never been done before and they did kind of set it up between the 2 movies by saying what you believe it what is true with pennywise, if that makes any sende
It chapter 2. Nearly 3 hours and they defeat him by calling him a.....clown!
I love the ends of The Village and The Mist.
For example for great movies with bad endings, you have "I Think We're Alone Now (2018)"; "Deadly Blessing (1981)" and "Ben is back (2018)".
I love Us all the way through but you're right, I watched it for like the 4th time recently and I was like "I wish I could ask Jordan Peele.. a lot of questions" such as
Was Adelaide (actually Red) aware of the fact that she was the real Red, or was she just confused?
...I guess that's pretty much my only main confusion but what are questions you had by the end?
What about the first Wonder Woman movie? The film set up a really unique and thought-provoking story that wasn’t really like any other superhero movie, and then the ending was just a generic CGI fight to see who could punch each other the most. It didn’t ruin the rest of the film for me, but it was just a let-down and a missed opportunity.
Yeah I would agree I don’t think it ruined the film but it was just like eh ok
It's the weakest part but it doesn't ruin the movie for me. It's kind of goofy and talk-y, but it doesn't undermine the film.
*NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN*
Josh Brolin dies offscreen and then the movie just kinda ends in a diner mid-conversation
You can add interstellar on there for me
"Tag" is a hilarious, fun-filled movie UNTIL the ending! THEN it suddenly, strangely, turns a corner and becomes a sad, depressing tale. WTH??!!
I don’t think that Us has the narrative genius of Get Out but I do think that it works. It already is setting up a grander universe because of the tethered so I don’t necessarily think that the ending is that much of a tonal shift compared to the rest of the film and I like it personally.
Hey Sean, how do you feel about Matrix 4? Do you think they’ll screw up the ending?
Didn't i talk about it in my most anticipated of 2021 movies of 2021 video?
I don't know if they'll screw up the end because they're starting from such a disastrous ending.
What about movies ruined by a bad beginning? *cough* Terminator: Dark Fate *cough*
The thing is Sean actually likes Dark Fate and thinks people misunderstand the film. I once asked him in a Q and A about this and said, “Do you think that Dark Fate commits the same cinema sin as Alien 3 by killing John Connor?” I’ll admit I asked because I was split in whether I was for or against that decision. But then he explained how he still enjoyed it because it’s supposed to show how John had already fulfilled his fate and now it shifts the focus onto Sarah to show her importance. Idk what to think of it personally. But one movie I guarantee would be on that list would be Alien 3.
I couldn’t agree with you more on “Us”
That "the Mist" ending sounds screwed up!
Well on subject of IT Chapter 2 as someone who has read the whole book and seen the original IT movie the ending is always pretty bad especially when its hard to understand because the ending of the IT book can be so complex it would be hard to make the ending in a movie good also I think that the ending of It chapter 2 is better than the original one but thats my opinion.
Wonder woman because if the ending was better it could've been nominated for an oscar.
What Oscar? :-D
@@akosleoszilagyi2529 Best....picture?
@@lothanyfountain9443 Well, that would be as ridiculous as the nomination of Black Panther for Best Picture.
@@akosleoszilagyi2529 I agree with your statement. Still...it would've been posible.
I have ab idea for a video that you can do: Top 10 Crime movie endings
For me, Interstellar is easily my #1 pick for this category. I was loving the movie until the blackhole deus ex machina.
I could write a whole book about movies I enjoyed that were ruined by terrible endings.
I like the twist ending in the Mist, but I do agree about the part with the child waking up.
The Mist is hard to watch and absolutely brutal for sure, but even Stephen King was Jealous of this ending, it was ballsy lol
Honesty I go dramatically back and fourth on what I think about the ending. I respect how ballsy it is, but it also makes not want to watch a movie which I otherwise would rewatch a lot more.
I'd love to see that rocky and creed fights ranked video.
The way you talk about the mist was pure comedy I was literally laughing out loud
Fantastic 4, how did I not see this coming! I watched it not long ago, and I actually had the same thoughts that it was good until the ending. The bad guy just shows up abruptly almost, and suddenly it's the climax and everybody is resolving their half developed conflicts right here and now. WOW!
The refrigerator scene in KoTCS is ridiculous.
Next do the 10 best endings
Us is a masterpiece of a film. The allegories are incredible. The message works unbelievably. I also hate superhero movies though, they’re far too formulaic and boring for me so I guess we just have different tastes.
